Ground Floor
Living/Dining/Kitchen Area:
Stepping into the living room from the decking area, you’ll immediately be struck by the original and huge Old Forge window that is the centrepiece of the downstairs floor in Charles I, making this a very bright and welcoming apartment furnished with country cottage fabrics.

At the entrance, you will find an understairs cupboard housing a travel cot, stair gate, highchair, iron, ironing board, airer, as well as the Welcome Dog Basket (with stainless steel bowl and blanket).

A comfortable sofa, sink-in armchair with a footstool and wooden antique chair provide plenty of seating for 4 in the living area. In addition, the living area is furnished with an oak coffee table, occasional tables and a smart TV.

The fully equipped kitchen, overlooking the decking and garden, has a country-cottage feel, with fresh off-white coloured and wooden work surfaces. The kitchen has all the appliances, cookware, crockery and glassware you need for a self-catering holiday, including an oven/hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine and washer/dryer.

Extending from the kitchen is a spacious dining area with a round, oak dining table and chairs for 4 that overlooks the main Sudeley Cottages courtyard.

First Floor
Bedroom 1:
The master bedroom is furnished with an oak frame standard double bed, bedside tables and individual overbed lights with reading and room lighting. This dual-aspect bedroom, with windows to the front and back, has a handy dressing area with a hanging cupboard – also the perfect place to set up a little one’s travel cot.

Bedroom 2:
Furnished with an oak frame single bed, bedside table and individual overbed light with reading and room lighting, this is a cosy bedroom with views to the rear over the garden and decking area. A small hanging cupboard (for shirts and jackets), chair and vanity shelf with mirror provide lots of space for guests’ clothes and personal items.

Family Bathroom:
Adjacent to Bedroom 2 is the family bathroom, with a large walk-in shower (with a fixed overhead rain shower and detachable handheld shower head) toilet, sink with shaver unit and heated towel rail.

Outside
Enjoy the private area of the wooden decking with a table and chairs seating four watching the birds flit between the trees. There is off road parking in the shared Sudeley Cottages car park for two cars.

A wonderful stay

Charles 1 was exactly what our small family needed- a homey and comfortable place to relax and spend time together. Everything was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was well equipped to prepare a meal. It was an easy walk to town and we highly recommend this accommodation.

Very comfortable in a lovely location.

We loved our stay here. Location and parking fabulous with entry into Sudeley Castle. Almost everything you can think of was provided. The front terrace/garden area is not fully private as guests walk past to get to the end apartment but we would still stay again.

Sudely Castle cottages.

The cottage provides a comfortable, clean place to stay in a complex of several cottages set in a scenic location. Castle and grounds are beautiful with great history and have free entry to people staying in the cottages, really worth a visit.

Relaxing place to stay

Beautiful area and fabulous accommodation. Loved the little care package which included milk in the fridge on arrival. It's the small touches that absolutely have the right impact. Would recommend to friends.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Cottages, and we love them! The location within the village and on the grounds of the Castle make it a memorable stay.

Couple Short Stay for Wedding at Sudeley Castle

Ideal place to stay if you’re attending an event at Sudeley Castle. Property was clean and well equipped and would be able to accommodate 3 people and a baby with ease. No problems parking and easy to walk into Winchcombe. This particular property might not suit those with limited mobility due to narrow step access but others on complex may be better.

joyful stay at this lovely charming cottage

we stayed for 2 nights in this charming little place , had a lovely welcome pack on arrival and the place was spotless, only negatives are , the sign post was a little bit coverd off the main road so did go around the village twice , but a lovely dog walker showed us where to go , and for me the bed was very firm , to firm for me , but that’s preference and it would not stop me staying again , we had amazing walks around the castle and it such a good base for seeing different parts of the cotswolds, all in all out stay was lovely

Beautiful accommodations

The cottage was pristine and well appointed. We appreciated the coffee and tea provided. Only disappointment was that we were not aware that the castle had closed for the season (we missed it by one day!) and that had factored greatly in our choice of that location.

A Good Base for visiting Winchcombe and Surrounds

The Cottage was very sweet, and generally well-equipped but very cold, and we couldn’t get the heated towel rail to work so we constantly had damp towels. Tea and coffee was provided but .. 6 tea bags for 3 people for 3 nights?? (Luckily there are a couple of supermarkets in the village … ) Washing machine also provided but no soap due to ‘allergy reasons’ Beds were comfortable but sofa in the lounge was not!! Property was quiet (we were off-season) and free entrance to Sudeley Castle was a real bonus.

Great location

We had an enjoyable stay as the location is perfect for walking to the castle and village. The accommodation was well stocked with everything you would need for a holiday. The bedrooms are quite basic and everything feels a little tired. Also a lot of cobwebs so felt like it needed a deep clean.

Condition of interior paintwork needed a freshen up, but overall a really relaxing stay. Close to the Castle and the shops. Extremely comfortable.
