About this property

Cottage Next to the Creek in Historic Cascade Canyon At The Foot Of Pikes Peak

This fully restored Victorian cottage with outdoor hot tub is situated on the banks of Cascade Creek in the small mountainous neighborhood of Cascade which is part of the Pikes Peak watershed. Great views of the creek from windows in the sitting area and
views of the mountain ridges from the wrap around porch and the sleeping loft.
The cottage is at the rear of a larger property with a main house and carriage house and is surrounded by old growth forest. The grounds: large trees, flower gardens, and a private creek side mini meadow are yours to enjoy. The cottage has a wrap around porch with chairs and a porch swing to gaze at the gardens and an outside patio next to the creek with table, chairs, and charcoal grill.
The renovated cottage is really a "tiny house"( 500 sq ')with all space efficiently dedicated. There is a small sitting area, a dining area, compact kitchen (fully equipped with microwave, stove, dishwasher, fridge, and washer/dryer), small bathroom with shower, and a light-filled sleeping loft with large windows of the mountains, forest, and night sky. The babbling creek serves as a sleeping tonic.
Several trails are outside the front door-one of which, if taken to its limit, takes you to the summit of Pikes Peak. Wildlife, since Cascade is in the foothills, is common—bears, foxes, raccoons, bobcats, and deer.

Wonderful stay with beautiful views. The sound of the creek was instantly relaxing. Great location near plenty of restaurants, hikes & attractions. Excellent water pressure and the AC worked like a charm. The host and groundskeeper were very responsive and helpful before and during our stay. Overall a wonderful experience!

Enjoyed our stay!

Enjoyed this little cabin! We were here for a conference not far away so we stayed for a week. Everything clean and as described! We had plenty of down time to enjoy the hot tub and even had a chance to head up to Pikes Peak which was nearby. Would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time, the only complaint we have is that the cottage was very hot the first day or two because the window unit A/C was off when we arrived.

Tranquil & Tucked Away

We loved the location and layout of this tiny cottage. Falling asleep to the sounds of the babbling brook made for pleasant sleeping. The stairs weren’t as big a challenge as we feared, but could be an issue for some.

Perfect Spring Break Getaway

My boyfriend and I spent one of our first trips together at this beautiful little cottage. Perfectly situated outside by a rolling creek, we enjoyed staying in, as well as exploring Colorado Springs. House was clean and had everything we needed. Food, activities and sightseeing are only 10-20 minutes away from the property. Hot tub was incredible and I truly couldn't have asked for a better VRBO! I hope we get to come back someday.

This cabin was a beautiful getaway just moments from Manitou Springs. Even though the house was not large, it had absolutely everything I needed for a great stay.

Property manager was great, he had good communication and helped us with any and all issues we brought to him. The cabin is small and would be more suited for a weekend trip in my opinion. We stayed for a full week and found it to be a bit too small for a longer trip. It has a futon couch and so lounging in the evenings was not as comfortable as I would like. The cabin was adorable but the kitchen pans were lacking. It lacked cleaners to tidy up with and there was no dustpan and the vacuum stunk up the whole house when used. The area was great. Local hikes near by. We couldn't get all the pumps to work in the hot tub. It seemed like it had been a while since it was ran because there was a lot of build up in the jets. Besides a few minor inconveniences it was a nice stay.

Cute cozy little cabin

We enjoyed our anniversary trip to Colorado in this cute little cabin. They are located near so many things. It gives you the cabin in the woods feel, without the long drive to get there. 4 days was not enough time to get everything done that we wanted, so we will have to come back sometime soon.

Best VRBO we’ve ever used!

Beautiful property! The hot tub is amazing at night with the mountain silhouette. Found everything we needed in the home. Ease of use with appliances and cooking items in the kitchen. We had the best time, everything is close and accessible in town. Hiking trails with in walking distance of your front door!

A cute place to refresh

I booked this stay to kind of reset after the loss of my son. It really was the perfect place for me to just relax and be with myself. There were more houses around than I had thought there would be, but you never really saw any of the neighbors. The cabin was just as it was pictured. I think my favorite part about this location was being able to open the windows and Listen to the creek.

Wonderful 'little house'

We were visiting the Colorado Springs area for a few days and didn't want to stay in a hotel. Found this lovely little house on VRBO. Easy to find - owner gave excellent directions. This is a very cozy, little house, designed just for one or two people. Kitchen was well equipped. Bed was comfy. Bathroom was clean & the towels were great. Loved our time there.

Stay here!

My wife and I spent our honeymoon here and loved it! It’s in a fantastic spot, just down the street(literally) from the entrance to pikes peak. Also within a 15 minute drive to the garden of the gods park and an hour and a half from the royal gorge. The creek creates a pleasant atmosphere and you can’t beat a few minutes in the hot tub to finish off the night. The only negative of our stay is that I’m a taller fellow and the bed was a little short, but other than that it was an awesome experience.

Quaint Cottage

Loved this cottage, it's charm with a running creek along side the property that you can here all night and the hot tub was a plus. We stayed a week and it is so close to the attractions that we saved by cooking dinner every night. The stairs to the bedroom are a little tricky but can be mastered and I was little concerned being from Texas about a no A/C place but soon learned of the climate difference and rather enjoyed the windows open and with lots of fan in the closet we had no worry about the heat.

Perfect getaway!

Such a cozy cabin!! We arrived to find a bottle of sparkling wine with a sweet note from Kris, the owner. I had mentioned our plan to be married at the top of the incline. Both Kris and Wendy (property manager) were great and responded quickly ! The stairs are steep, but just adds to the uniqueness of the cabin. The hot tub was wonderful after a day of hiking and exploring!

Why they chose this property

I purchased this property because of its historical significance. I like older homes and the 'big house" (behind which is the cottage) was the first home built in Cascade . Cascade itself was a resort community in the late 1800's, populated mostly by people from Kansas who bought second homes to escape the summer heat and is now populated by those of us who like the rural feel yet easy access to the city. Those of us who live here feel this is a special place.

What makes this property unique

Quiet, cool, peaceful, rural setting by the creek with old growth trees, beautiful gardens, and access to the trails.
