Sweet Apple Cottage

This quiet cottage with a view of the Grand Mesa is located 1/4 mile from world famous road and mountain biking and hiking trails and three miles from the east entrance of the Colorado National Monument. We are 2 miles from downtown Main Street with famous Art on the Corner, art galleries, shopping, restaurants, the historic Avalon theater and seasonal farmers market. Our cottage is located 10 miles from Fruita Co, 11 miles from the Palisade orchards and wineries, 90 miles from Moab and 2 hours, to Telluride, Aspen and Vail. The Powderhorn ski resort is 45 minutes away on the Grand Mesa, largest flat top mountain in the world. There is nordic skiing, golf, fishing, and hunting in the area.

Quiet charming neighborhood

Nice and comfortable place to stay at a reasonable price. Loved the personal touch of delicious baked desert left for us to enjoy. Felt like I was staying at a relatives house.

GJ May Trip

Redlands Return

I was visiting with friends who live in the Redlands. Traveling with a friend who had never been there. It was great to have a comfortable & convenient place to stay while we were there. Jackie was very nice to deal in every aspect.

Wonderful cottage!

We loved staying at Sweet Apple and felt so comfortable and relaxed at Jackie's house. We explored SW Co & Utah for 3 days. The cottage is so charming, beds comfy and gorgeous patio to have coffee and delicious chocolate chip bread. We will definitely be back and will bring our dogs! Thanks Jackie!!!

Sweet Apple Cottage is charming and unique. It suited us well. The home is cozy and larger than you think. It has a large yard and a nice deck. The kitchen is spacious and well-appointed. The location is perfect. We were quite comfortable there.

Grand mesa memorial getaway

Jackie, provided us with a fantastic getaway from the city. Her home is Spacious, warm and welcoming and such a beautiful yard & patio to enjoy with our friends & our dogs. The photos do not do her home justice. It's a beautiful neighborhood and community with restaurants, breweries, rafting and hiking at your fingertips. We will most definitely come back!!!

Adorable Cottage close to everything.

Our family was in town to attend a Mountain bike race. This location of this cute cottage was perfect. Close to town and close to the trails. The fenced back yard was perfect for our dog. The house was clean and comfortable. The whole house was stocked with everything we could need. Jackie is sweet and goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable in her home. She baked a yummy chocolate banana bread for us. How sweet is that? We would stay here again.

A wonderful place to stay!

We stayed at the cottage last week and found it delightful beyond our expectations. It was so comfortable & decorated with beautiful art. Jackie the owner is a gem. She had a yummy loaf of bread waiting for us. She literally went the extra mile(s) for us. The day we departed we were 1 1/2 hours away where our vehicle had a broken exhaust. Jackie phoned me to inform me that I had left my wallet at the cottage. We were unable to drive and I suggested that Jackie fedex it to me. She insisted on driving it to me since it contained my drivers license and credit cards. What a wonderful lady! We will be back to stay there for sure!

We had a wonderful family stay at Sweet Apple Cottage. The house was cozy and the kitchen was well stocked. We had no problem communicating with our host when needed- she was very responsive and courteous. The weekend we stayed was extremely hot, but with the evaporative (swamp) air conditioning and fans we were able to keep cool. The backyard deck was a wonderful spot for coffee in the morning and a nice dinner one evening. The location was also great for visiting the Colorado National Monument park -- it is a little over a mile from the house to the park's east entrance. We would stay there again if we were in the area.

Summer comfortable stay

We too a long “work” weekend to enjoy the western slope. The house was very warm and accommodating. Great spaces to gather and play board games. The hist even had make us an AMAZING chocolate banana bread to enjoy!

Quiet getaway close to everything

We had such a great time staying at the Apple Cottage! It was the perfect place for me to work during the week and explore in the evenings and weekends. Located on the edge of town, it was close to everything in town. We will make sure to visit again!

A sweet cottage close to National Monument

My brother & I stayed here for a family event in town. Clean, cozy and comfortable with many small amenities added in.Steps & uneven floor levels make the cottage less suitable for older visitors, but it's quite charming and in a nice quiet neighborhood.

Graduation weekend

We always love a stay at Sweet Apple Cottage. Jackie is a fabulous host. Her cottage has a warm inviting vibe. It is the the absolute most stocked rental we have ever stayed in. We love the neighborhood as it is so peaceful and quiet. It feels remote but it really isnt. Thank you Jackie for all that you do for our stays

I arrived to retire in Grand Junction from Atlanta, Ga. I taught 32 years at the college prep Lovett School. My subjects were history and religion courses with Middle Est History and Archaeology as my special interests.

Why they chose this property

This cottage was built in 1941 and remodeled in 2000 . Every day is a wonder to live in this beautiful valley surrounded by The National Monument, The Bookcliffs and the wild horses and The Grand Mesa.

What makes this property unique

Our area is quiet and very close to beautiful endless scenry and culture of the western Colorado and southern Utah. We are 30 miles from the Utah boarder. We are 3 minutes from Trailhead coffee shop for breakfast and lunch and 5 minutes from Starbucks in the Albertson shopping center.
