About this property

Explore Seward, Cooper Landing and Kenai Peninsula from one central location.

Stay centrally and explore effortlessly - all your vacation needs in one spot! Step into a space that truly feels like home. This isn't “another soulless nightly rental”, it's a place where every detail has been thoughtfully considered. Our home is meticulously cared for by us, the owners. We handle all cleaning and maintenance ourselves to ensure everything is perfect for your stay.

Enjoy the comfort of a king-size bed in our spacious ground-level bedroom, complete with an ensuite half-bathroom. This level has its own private entrance to the backyard and driveway, offering added convenience. For ease of access, stairs to the second level feature a handrail and motion-sensor lights. Inside, you'll find a washer/dryer and blackout curtains on all windows, perfect for light-sensitive guests.

The loft bedroom features a queen size bed and is accessed via a ladder-style staircase. The footing is very secure and there is a handrail, but it is steep and not recommended for toddlers or if you have accessibility issues. Windows in the loft have blinds, but the loft does not go completely dark and light sensitive sleepers will prefer the basement bedroom.

The second level features a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar and dining table, stocked with more than just the basics. Enjoy premium coffee, a variety of teas, sugar, honey, creamer, spices, condiments, oatmeal, and an assortment of kitchen essentials, including sharp knives, cooking utensils, cookware, and gadgets. Large windows offer panoramic mountain views, making your morning coffee an exceptional experience. The space also includes a full bathroom and a cozy living area. Relax on the deck with a table and chairs, perfect for outdoor dining while taking in the stunning scenery.

My first trip to Alaska was in 1996 and I stayed for the month of July and was in awe of the midnight sun! I hiked to waterfalls, hiked on glaciers, saw breaching whales, camped with bears and caught my first halibut and salmon. I was hooked immediately(pun intended)!
I look forward to being your host! I'lll make your Moose Pass experience local and memorable, because traveling is a pleasure when you find a comfortable home to relax, explore and escape the feeling of a hotel. As an experienced and passionate traveler, I've stayed in hundreds of hotels, guesthouses, hostels, home-stays, and BnB's in over 50 countries. I've tried to combine and present all these experiences in my home, to make it a wonderful place to visit and stay.

Why they chose this property

This is a perfect location only 90 minutes south of Anchorage to make your basecamp for exploring all of Kenai Peninsula! That means no packing and unpacking your luggage every other day at a new place.

Moose Pass offers an endless amount of hiking trails, lakes for canoeing or kayaking and floatplanes for flightseeing! I highly recommend a picnic on Kenai Lake at Trail River campground on the beach!

Cooper Landing is only 15 miles away, where you can be hiking, kayaking, rafting, bear viewing, or fishing for world class salmon and trout on the Russian River or Kenai River.

Seward is 34 miles away, where you can take a boat to Kenai Fjords National Park and see tidewater glaciers, humpback whales, orcas, sea lions and sea otters. If you prefer, take a boat and go fishing for world class halibut and salmon. Visit the Alaska Sealife Center. Hike up to see Exit Glacier and the Harding Ice Field.

Hope is 39 miles away, where you can raft some class 5 rapids on 6 mile river. The historic town of Hope is an excellent place to visit, the views from the waterfront are a dream. many hiking trails are in the area to explore. If you like live music, The Creekbend has transformed the old Tito's Cafe into one of the best live music scenes in all Alaska on weekends.

Whittier is 55 miles away, where you gain access to Prince William Sound.

Girdwood is 55 miles away, where you can access hiking trails, restaurants, the aerial tram and much more.

Homer is 135 miles away, doable as a day trip for road trip enthusiast.

What makes this property unique

When I bought this property in 2008 there was a lot of finish work the home needed. Fast forward to 2024 and the inside is all redone and modernized with a unique touch, more comfortable than ever before! We've been hosting for 8 years now and after traveling to almost 70 countries in the past 20 years, we know how we like our accommodation set up. Cleanliness is one of the most important aspects and our home is the next level of clean as we do all the cleaning between guests ourselves. I used to work as a chef, so here you'll find one of the most equipped and stocked kitchens in Alaska, with a garden outside in the summer to pick a fresh item or two for your meal.
