Anchorage at February half term

We had an excellent stay in Anchorage and would recommend it to anybody, the car charging point was particular useful for one of our vehicles. The kids did not want to leave and have already asked if we can go back!

The Anchorage ,Friday January 7th 2022

Tha house was beautifully clean and how good to have a plenty of crockery, all matching and with no chips! There are only a couple of negatives, the bedroom and bathroom lighting wasn’t great, bedroom quite dim and bathrooms no lighting near mirrors, also no shaver point in the downstairs bathroom. Also the couple in the downstairs bedroom found the heating controls in there quite unresponsive so that bedroom was cold all week, perhaps this is just underfloor heating generally but at least upstairs had radiators. No welcome pack( is this normal?) also only given three loo rolls between six of us for a week! Overall a good stay in a comfortable house,

Beautifully maintained and equipped house, clean, spacious and functional for a large gathering.

Beautifully maintained and equipped house, clean, spacious and functional for a large gathering. Great location with the Ship just around the corner and Brancaster beach walkable. Beautiful beach, cosy pub and comfortable house, who would want for more from a visit to Norfolk?

Special occasion

We had a very good time at the property. Everything we needed was there for 6 adults ,a toddler and baby. However, the downstairs toilet was running non stop which created a lot of noise in the adjacent bedroom. Unfortunately it was only repaired the following day. The mattress in the downstairs bedroom was not as comfortable as in the other rooms. We still had a great time.

We have holidayed at this house before.

Anchorage fitted our family , as it did before. Yes, its a bit older now and we had some concerns that it could do with a tidy up. Bathrooms not as good as before, a broken shower hose and brown dirt on the shower casing. A member of my family said the same thing on their bathroom . The lounge sofas were very bad in that they have no support whatsoever, even uncomfortable., and grubby. The sofa in the dining area was past its best. It made a person look for another seat. So this was disappointing for me. We loved the garden, as before. The parking space. The space in the house. . The position near to what we liked in the area. We did have a lovely holiday in Brancaster. Even though initially we had no towels either Also no bathroom accessories. Covid maybe. I, expected the house to be as before..

Our stay at Anchorage

This was the third year running we have stayed at Anchorage for October half term and we loved it, it is the perfect base to visit all the places we love, there's plenty of space for all of us and it's always really clean. There's everything you could need at the house for a home away from home. It's also lovely and quiet. Would absolutely recommend Anchorage.

A luxury short break in Brancaster.

The Anchorage was everything that we expected it to be, a beautifully presented luxury home. We chose the Anchorage for a short family break as part of my birthday celebration. The house is part of a small high quality development consisting of individually designed homes with open views out over the surrounding countryside. Brancaster itself is a charming and peaceful location with excellent restaurants close by. The nearby beaches and coastline are truly breathtaking and unspoilt.

Anchorage Brancaster

A perfect family house for the half term holiday. Enjoyed by three children, 6 and 4 year old twins, their parents, and Granny & Grandpa. It ticked all the right boxes! A brilliant choice.

Family celebration weekend

Anchorage is a super place to stay. Great interior design, comfortable and spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found there were plenty of places to visit nearby. Lovely Brancaster beach. My son had previously stayed here and we would all definitely recommend this property. First class.

Fantastic house in a great location

The best holiday house we have ever stayed in! Spacious, comfortable and very-well-equipped. The only problem was that somehow the house had not been cleaned or our arrival. A phone call to Norfolk Hideaways quickly sorted it, and a cleaning team arrived very quickly to do the job spotlessly! The garden was ideal for 3 young grandchildren and being South-west facing, perfect for sunny afternoon and evening alfresco dining. We would definitely recommend Anchorage to everyone!

Fantastic property

Beautiful, spacious property in an ideal location. The best house we've stayed at in Norfolk (and we've stayed at some good ones!). Well equipped kitchen, large dining table and plenty of room in the living area for a family of 3 generations. We didn't have the best weather, so it really helped that we had such a fantastic house to return to and spend time in. Loved the dressing room, giving us plenty of room for our belongings. Great little extras, such as electrical heated towel rails that didn't depend on central heating. Lovely garden, although a small downside was that it didn't feel quite as private as some of the older properties available in Brancaster. Would highly recommend for anyone who doesn't mind the price tag!

Great property great location

Anchorage was a perfect location for our North Norfolk holiday. It suited us very well accommodating three 85 yr olds as well as younger members of 2 families. The house is light, spacious and pristine with pretty much every need catered for. We particularly liked that there was plenty of crockery, glassware etc - more than enough for our party size and also just about every kitchen utensil, gadget you may need. Instructions for recycling etc welcomed. The kitchen and dining area are amazing - as to be honest is the whole house. All the bedrooms and upstairs shower/bathrooms equally beautifully presented and immaculately clean. Downstairs double bedroom with walk in shower/wc adjacent was ideal for my parents who have lower mobility - perhaps the only thing that would have improved things for them would have been a discreet hand rail in the shower area. Access was level throughout the ground floor so no issues with steps etc for them - this included access to the garden with its garden furniture and super size sun shade making sitting out a pleasure at any time of day though we were blessed with perfect weather for our entire week. For all of us it was also the location that made it - Brancaster beach walkable in 15-20 mins for those of us able to do so and drivable in 5 mins if not. The village itself is typically Norfolk and we enjoyed our meal at The Ship only 5 mins walk up the road. Thornham, Holme and Brancaster Staithe all within easy reach by car. You are ideally placed for exploring all of this part of the area but the house is so beautiful and comfortable we really felt able to make the most of the time we spent there eating in more than we would normally do on holiday because it was such an enjoyable place to do so. Yes it is expensive but we felt well worth it and would love to go back - possibly the best property we have stayed in in this area. Thank you.

Stayed for a week with family

What a fantastic house. So comfortable clean and well equipped. A nice sized garden very safe for the grandchildren to play in. Lovely spacious kitchen/diner for family meals and jig saw puzzles. Plenty of bathrooms and a good utility room. 20 minute walk to the beach at Brancaster which is lovely. We were also very lucky with beautiful weather.

Fabulous house!!

What a fabulous house! Great location, close to beach and Ship Inn on a quiet development. Beautifully designed and decorated to a high standard - I wish I could take the kitchen home! The house was spotlessly clean and so well equipped - not just with kitchen utensils, but books, board games, and things for the beach. There were basics in the kitchen too, such as tea, coffee (real stuff as well as instant!), sugar and items like dishwasher tablets. We appreciated the welcome food gifts left for us. This is a lovely spacious, bright and comfortable house and the owners have obviously gone to much trouble to ensure the comfort of their guests. It is the best house we have rented in the North Norfolk area and we are looking forward to returning as soon as possible.

A great place to stay that felt like home

Anchorage is a really well designed, furnished and equipped house which was perfect for us as a group of family and friends with children. Really nice touches such as toys for the children, top and bottom stair gates, music players and a welcome pack with wine and cake! The kitchen was really well equipped, everything you could possibly need which was great as we cooked at the house every meal. Beds were comfy, showers were good and we found the open plan layout of downstairs made it feel so big and sociable. The location is great being close to the bus stop, walking distance to the beach (although a bit far for small children) and a pub round the corner. Our only negative was that we found the there wasn't quite enough fridge space. Would thoroughly recommend it though and may even return ourselves!
