About this property

Three Tuns, Great Walsingham, Norfolk

Three Tuns is a character end terrace Victorian cottage, that was originally the village pub. Under new ownership in 2021, the cottage has been tastefully updated to create comfortable, modern living while still retaining lots of cottage character and charm with latch doors and wooden floors.

This is a well cared for and much-loved cottage that will appeal to walkers, cyclists, families, couples and friends.Tastefully furnished throughout with quality fixtures and fittings, on the ground floor there's a modern, well-equipped fitted kitchen, and a very pleasant spacious sitting room with comfy sofas and separate dining area. There's also a twin bedroom, with en-suite wet room, ideal for children or anyone with mobility issues who might find the steep stairs a trifle difficult. Upstairs on the first floor there is a king-size bedroom and separate bathroom. Three Tuns has lovely views of this pretty village from all windows, as well as a good-sized, private west facing garden to laze in on sunny days, a gated private driveway with parking for two to three cars, as well as a garage providing safe storage for bikes.

Great Walsingham is an ancient and peaceful North Norfolk village, with an award-winning pie maker and cafe, gallery, craft centre and gift shop. It's nearby 'sister village' of Little Walsingham (a medieval wonder that is well worth a visit) is easily reached on foot, and has a renowned farm shop, pubs, restaurants and cafes. Just four miles inland from the popular coastal resort of Wells-next-the-Sea and its neighbouring village, Stiffkey, you are very well placed for exploring the wonderful Norfolk coast, as well as the many delightful rural villages.

New year holiday
We had a fantastic time staying at the three tuns over the new year break. The house is beautifully presented with lots of local charm and it’s very well equipped. Would recommend to stay here.

Beautiful Cottage in peaceful village location
Lovely cottage in a peaceful village location only a few miles from Wells-next-the Sea. It had everything you could possibly need and more with the added bonus of a garden and private parking. We hope to return again and would certainly recommend to others.

Pleasantly spacious cottage
The décor of the cottage was very pleasing and the building was characterful and quirky. It was deceptively spacious, with plenty of storage. The kitchen contained everything that was needed. The master bedroom and landing area were very attractive, and both bedrooms had quality bed linen. The downstairs bedroom and wet room were cold. Admittedly, it was February and the week of 'the storms'! The shower in the wet room was a massive let down, and really needs some improvements - the water flow was a mere dribble. In the end we gave up using it, as the bathroom was too cold - this meant taking baths in the other bathroom. We appreciated the enclosed section of the garden for our dog. There was an additional area for off-road car parking; however the turn in was slightly tricky due to other residential roadside parking.

Three tuns
Our second year at this cottage and it won’t be our last. It has everything we could wish for. It is only a short drive to the coast and coffee shops and pubs within walking distance. A true gem in a beautiful part of the country.
