Beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting
Enjoyed our stay here very much. The cottage is very clean, bright and comfortable. The setting is beautiful and very relaxing. It’s in the country, so the only thing disturbing you is the sound of the sheep!

Wonderful property and idyllic location
We really loved the property. It’s so well equipped, spacious and comfortable. What made it even more special for us was that it is so dog friendly. Throws for the furniture, towels, even a bed big enough for 2 chihuahuas and a cockerpoo. Location is brilliant for walking and plenty of birds visit the feeders in the garden. Definitely recommend this as a place to stay if you’re looking to chill and relax. Imagine it will be even more special in warmer months

Great Location and very Dog Friendly
Woodfoot Cottage is located on the edge of the woods which attracts a large variety of birds and Red squirrels to its garden (make sure you take some bird food and monkey nuts) for the feeders and you can sit watch them all day. The property is very dog friendly with bowls, dog tags, a bed, a crate and throws for the sofas and is enclosed by a decent fence that also has chicken wire (to keep little ones in as well). The TV has the added bonus of Netlix and Amazon prime as well as a good selection of DVD's so plenty to watch and relax in the evening if you can tear yourselves away from squirrel watching. The location being on the edge of the Galloway Forest (dark sky area) allows you to explore both the forest and the many walks along with the coast if beaches are more your thing. Tesco's will deliver to the cottage (make sure you book in advance) and this meant we did not have to go shopping which in the current Covid climate suited us just fine. We cannot comment on the local pubs/restaurants as we either cooked our own meals or did venture out for a few takeaways in Kirkcudbright. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Woodfoot and would definitely look to come back another day.
