A wonderful home, perfect hosts and a great location. The property is very central but still manages to be quiet and peaceful. All you will need and lovely gardens.
Our stay at Russell Court was fabulous! Our host, Andrew, was very welcoming and available should we need anything. Check in was easy and the home was absolutely lovely. Very comfortable and spacious for our party of 6 (4 adults and 2 teenagers). The kitchen had everything we needed and the fireplace made the space very cozy after our chilly days out exploring the Cotswolds. I can’t recommend Russell Court enough - we are already looking forward to a return visit.

A great property where 3 generations have enjoyed a long weekend stay. Communication from the owner was exceptional. The property has a great layout, was spotlessly clean and the history of the property offers another great element of charm. Well located near to good restaurants, shops and within easy distance of beautiful surroundings. This is a property we would love to return to and one we would highly recommend.
It has been an incredible experience to stay in a property with so much history, presence, comfort and coziness. The garden and grounds are beautiful, and the location is the best for visiting the Cotswolds. Andrew is an incredible host who provided many useful details about the property and the area ahead of our trip. During our stay he always replied to our questions on a timely manner.
What a delightful experience! The accommodations, the gardens, the hosts, all were stellar! We could have not picked more perfect spot for our week in the Cotswolds. Easy drive to many sites, charming town, and accommodations that made you feel like a local!I would easily return in a flash!
From the moment we arrived with a personalized greeting from the owner this property was outstanding. As described in the details, it has a large well equipped kitchen All the bedrooms have unique furnishings Property is tastefully decorated throughout in a comfortable English style. Garden is beautiful. They were even fresh figs on a tree that we were allowed to pick. The location is perfect with all the attractions of Broadway within easy walking distance, but quiet and set back from the road.
Russell court is an ideal place to stay and visit! This was our home while we road trip around the cotswolds. My partner and I stayed here with our parents and it was such a dreamy place! Andrew, was our host, he was great! The house was really clean, big, comfortable and well equipped for us, in total we were 6 adults, each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. Is a beautiful house, we really wish we had more than the 4 days we had there. The house has an idyllic garden with fig trees, lovely ponds and charming plants that made you believe you are in a Victorian vacation. Our parents were also blown away by this place, seriously stop looking this is the place to stay in the cotswolds. Is 5min walkind distance from the town which includes a well stock supermarket and nice tasty restaurants. Thanks Andrew for being a great host!
A beautiful historic estate. Every need fulfilled with top class amenities throughout. Wonderful hosts delightfully share the rich history of the Russel HouseThe gardens are magnificent and guests are welcome to marvel. The flowers are in bloom. Broadway is delight and a great place from which to explore the Cotswolds

My friend and I very much enjoyed our time in Broadway. The location was a great base from which to visit the Cotswolds. We also loved how easy it was to walk to get groceries at the local Coop and visit restaurants.
Outstanding accommodation, luxurious, full of charm and original features but with all modern conveniences and perfectly located just a short stroll from the shops and eateries in Broadway.
Andrew very accommodating and very helpful place was quite charming, comfortable and in proximity to the village Broadway. Lovely outside gardens and patio eating area.
We stayed over a week with our six-year old boy and his grandparents.
The property has plenty of outdoor space for our son to run around and is very close to the city centre so walks in are very convenient. It is a lovely property and location
Wonderful long weekend spent in Broadway. Russel Court Cottage was well placed, within easy walking distance from the High Street. The house was well equipped and we very much enjoyed relaxing in the comfortable sitting room with the log fire. Beautiful building, lovingly restored with wonderful gardens.
Excellent all round - especially appreciated the lighting atmosphere and bear.

About the host
Hosted by Andrew Dakin
I'm Andrew, originally from Cheshire, now retired, and I've been living in this area for the last 30 years. My partner and I bought Russell Court 8 years ago, and it has been our home since then. We recently bought Russell House next door and after a year's renovation project have moved there, making Russell Court now available as a holiday cottage.
Why they chose this property
Well, Broadway is famous as one of the most beautiful village in England, but more than that it's a great place to live, or just to visit. Within 5 minute's walk from Russell Court is Broadway's High Street, with three pubs, six restaurants, wine bar, shops selling everything from basic groceries, men's and women's fashions, florist, a gunshop, not to mention a celebrated delicatessen, hairdressers, doctor and dentist. Russell Court is in the perfect location, and has its own central part to play in the history of Broadway.
What makes this property unique
Russell Court, and the adjoining Russell House, was the centre of the Broadway Colony in the late 19th century - a group of American and British artists and writers who were the first to discover the charms of Broadway and the Cotswolds - the leading members were John Singer Sargent, whose Carnation, Lily, Lily Rose, was painted in the gardens here, Frank Millet, Edwin Austin Abbey, Henry James and Lawrence Alma-Tadema. It was this historic connection which first attracted us to the property, as we have close connections to the Boston area where many of the artists came from. We fully renovated the house, putting in all the modern amenities, so that Russell Court is both historic, but with all the modern creature comforts that make it such an ideal base from which to explore the area. There are so many things to see and do in and around Broadway that a week is hardly enough! That's why I love it so much here.
