Frustrating
This is our first experience using VRBO. Normally we use another site. I read the reviews about the rental. One review did mention the UNIT was filthy, the Hosts response was that the person responding, was bitter and the UNIT would have been re-cleaned had the matter been addressed and requested.
Being a business OWNER myself, I know some clients can be DIFFICULT to please! So I’m reluctant to take ALL reviews to heart. Other comments said the unit was “dated”. I wasn’t looking for interior design, but cleanliness is ALWAYS a priority! I thought VRBO would have certain STANDARDS, ie; floors, tubs, windows (venetian blinds). I was wrong!
My poor sister walked around with a runny nose (allergies) from the thick dust, covering the windows and blinds. The floors were so dirty that we had black feet, had to keep our shoes on. The day of arrival the stovetop was broken! Not one burner worked! The request was made for maintenance for the next day. When we awoke the following morning the air vent on the overhead microwave was running. I thought it odd because I had NOT turned it on. That’s when I realized the front burner, with its KNOB in the OFF position was HOT! Causing the exhaust fan to turn on! Maintenance did come while we were out, broke a knob on the stove and the burners still didn’t function! DISAPPOINTED isn’t a strong enough word for this disaster of a rental. Emerald Tower wanted NOTHING do with it! NOT in their Management! LESSON LEARED!
