Homely holiday let, well furnished comfortable home within walking distance of the seaside town of Amble.

Amble has a small fishing harbour where you can watch the catch of the day arriving. Pods form a small retail village selling a variety of art, crafts, jewellery, food and drinks, and a Sunday market. There are many good quality restaurants, cafes and friendly pubs in the town and surrounding area, as well as as good quality local shops.

You can visit the nearby Hauxley nature reserve or walk for miles on unspoilt beaches, Amble is also an ideal base to explore our beautiful Northumberland coast line. The market town of Alnwick with the famous Alnwick Castle and Alnwick Garden is only 9 miles to the north and definitely worth a visit, you could also pop in to Barter Books one of the largest secondhand bookshops in Britan, which includes a cafe where in the winter you can sit next to a roaring open fire.

A great base to explore Northumberland coast and castles

Small but welcoming the property is very clean, well presented and decorated beautifully to represent the coastal town and area in which it is situated. An ideal base to explore this area of coast and castles. The hosts are very helpful.

A very comfortable base from which to explore the area

A second stay at this property - so it must be good. Can't think of anything else we needed whilst staying there. So much to see and do within a couple of hours drive. I think we'll be back again as we still haven't seen everything.

Rachael’s Rest truly is a home away from home. It is relaxing, comfortable and well appointed with everything you need for a break. We were pleased to have the option of dining out or eating in depending on how we felt on the day. Very convenient with having a Morrisons store close by. We would definitely stay here again should we be in the area.

Lovely welcoming house with so many nice touches. Immaculately clean and very well maintained and presented. 15 minutes walk to Amble town centre & harbour etc so ideally located with the added advantage of parking at the property.

Lots of castles!

The property was great with lots of extras,very clean everything you could want. The only little thing was sofas very uncomfortable,but as the weather was good not in much. Lots of places to visit kept us busy for the week.

A beautiful little house and great back garden

We absolutely loved this little property especially the lovely back garden. The property had everything we needed including an amazing and very generous welcome pack. The bed was extremely comfortable and had beautiful bedding. Location wise it was ideal for visiting Alnwick, Almouth and Warkwortn. Would definitely return at some point in the future.

Amble revisit

Spotless, comfortable and well appointed. Possibly too many pictures and ornaments but that is just a matter of persnal taste. We would certainly recommend to others

The accommodation was immaculate, well presented and comfortable with a generous welcome pack. A bit of traffic noise if out in the back garden. Lots to do in the area-we ran put of time so hope to return. A very friendly area to stay in.

Beautiful accomadation

Rachel’s Rest is such a comfy immaculately clean accomadation. We stayed 4 nights. It was home from home everything you need is at hand. Fully equipped kitchen comfy beds. Ten minute walk into amble where ther is restaurants cafes and pubs. The area where Rachel’s Rest is is really quiet and has a pretty back garden with table and chairs. The communication with the hosts Bruce and Maureen was excellent. So worth a visit and stay.

Restful Holiday

We use self-catering accommodation once or twice a year and this is one of the best we have stayed in. Bruce got in touch beforehand and was very helpful. There was a wonderful welcome pack awaiting our arrival and he checked via text while we were there. After leaving he kindly informed me of an item that was found and is sending it on. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay or better hosts.

Amazing home with amazing host

Everything you could want from the welcome pack to the lovely bath towels. Excellent location to reach so many places that we found there was too much to fit in to our short stay so we will be back. Bruce went above and beyond when he discovered my husband had left his suit hanging in a wardrobe and arranged a link up with a friend of his to save us driving back from Edinburgh to collect it as it was needed for out visit to the Tattoo. Thank you Bruce you are a real gem.

The proprerty is highly suitable for two people - it is very well equipped, very well presented and spotlessly clean. The location allowed us easy access to all points from Hadrians Wall to Berwick on Tweed. Excellent welcome pack too!
