Built entirely of local stone, surrounded by nature in a quiet and peaceful area, it has a 12 m private swimming pool and a beautiful garden. The interiors, fully furnished with design furniture, are characterized by a refined and comfortable environment. In the villa you will find all the appliances necessary for total comfort (air conditioning, Smart TV (Netflix and Disney+ included), internet, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, microwave, toaster, hairdryer. We loved our stay at Villa Asteraki! It’s a beautiful villa and the pool is wonderful. The host, Marina, is very lovely and had some great recommendations. You need a car but there is everything you need in an easy distance. Really close to Elafonisi and other lovely beaches and coves. Thank you!

Lovely modern villa, great view of the sea and the sunsets from the fabulous pool, helpful host. Close to Sfinari beach for fabulous fresh seafood and Livadia village for amazing quiet pebble beaches. Perfect place to relax and unwind.

Beautiful!

What an amazing location! Claudio made us so welcome and we found the villa to be spotless, comfortable and especially well equipped. It was great to have things such as washing powder and a welcome pack of food provided as it is quite a long way to the shops! The pool is delightful and we had an unforgettable stay.

What a fantastic place and view! !

I spent just a few days and I will come back for sure! The Villa, sorrounded by nature and with a beautiful sea view, is very clean, comfortable and very well furnished. I enjoyed fantastic sunsets from the pool. The owner was very nice to me giving me all the information about the lovely West Crete: beaches, taverna and things to do. The road to arrive to Villa Asteraki from Kissamos is amazing with great views. See you next time!

Idyllic vacation

If you want to get away into the mountains of Crete, this is the place. Beautiful villa with pool. Sunsets are just unbelievable. Local tavernas 10-20 minute drive and are fantastic. Check out Gigantes for a special meal. The hosts were responsive, helpful and available. We spent 5 days at the villa and wished we had spent 2-3 more. It’s a magical place. Highly recommended.

Magical stay with some caveats on transport

This is a special spot - far far away from all the cares in the world. Our girls enjoyed the pool to the fullest and all had a peaceful and relaxing time, checking out stars and the sea view. The owner's guidance on most items was super helpful and we went to Taverna Gialites every night - more on that below :) and stocked up on food in Kissamos. My only concern is that while the remoteness is magical and I loved that it isn't yet overdeveloped as the north coast - it is a spot to book with caution. The last 4 Km from Kampos on the mountain roads is scary (one lane both ways!) and dangerous - only undertake it if you have the right type of car (stickshift) and an experienced driver. Hence we didn't want to venture far or drive at night. Google maps gives very confusing directions and getting to Elafonisi beach took us almost an hour through mountain roads. It will be interesting to see the venue in a few years - striking the right balance of some development and tourist amenities while preserving the pristine beauty for all to enjoy.

Marina a toujours été disponible et très réactive. Son radio guidage via whatsapp nous a permis de rejoindre facilement la villa le premier soir. 😉 La villa est jolie, bien entretenue et décorée avec goût. 😉La piscine miroir à débordement est parfaite.😊. Enfin la localisation de la villa impose de posséder un véhicule mais permet de visiter aisément le Nord Est comme le Sud Est de l'ile et ne pas manquer les incontournables de cette partie de l'ile comme Balos, Elafonissi etc... A réserver sans hésitation ni crainte.😊. Comme il faut tout de même mentionner un axe d'amélioration, alors il faudrait envisager le remplacement des cousins des transats de la piscine........mais les serviettes de bain fournies permettent leur usage et l'optimisation de ces derniers.😉😊

Das Haus ist sehr nett, die Lage gut, der Garten leider ungepflegt, eine Wüste, obwohl eine Bewässerungsanlage vorhanden wäre. Insgesamt wäre eine Renovierung dringend erforderlich: die Waschmaschine funktioniert schlecht bis gar nicht, die Outdoormöbel sind teilweise kaputt bzw. am Zusammenbrechen, die Auflagen der Liegen zerrissen.

Thank you for sharing your comments on the lawn (or lack thereof), as it gives us the opportunity to tell more about our choice to eliminate the lawn for the benefit of the typical plants of this part of the world (to safeguard the precious water resources and the natural environment), and to transform our external space into a real Mediterranean garden. We took the decision to offer our customers, who generally choose this area because they appreciate the wonder of nature and landscape that surrounds us, a natural environment rather than a forced and out of context lawn. Obviously, this transformation needs a certain period of time for everything to appear luxuriant, but, at the end we believe the customers will really appreciate our choice! As you saw in the garden there are already several large plants: palm trees, banana trees, sterlizia, oleander, hibiscus, roses, geraniums, rosemary, lantana, aloe vera and bougainvillea, and we have recently added other Mediterranean plants - lavender, olive tree, zammara and pomelia! Regarding the washing machine and the sun beds, we inspected the Villa and can confirm everything was fine and working before your arrival. We are sorry you didn't inform us of this during your stay - every time we talked and during the housekeeping you told us that everything was going well, otherwise we would have been delighted to rectify all issues! A wonderful sunny retreat in Crete!

We had a wonderful two-week stay at Marina's villa near Kampos on the west coast of Crete. The villa was clean and well-presented with everything you could need inside. Outside it has a lovely garden with a gorgeous, large swimming pool. The views out to sea were amazing with beautiful sunsets but also lovely afternoons with the sun shining over the shimmering, silvery sea. Inland are the mountains which give the place its remoteness (a car is essential!) and we grew to love the roads, to see the landscape in different lights and, of course, the sheep and goats! While the large supermarkets are in Kissamos, there are also smaller ones in Platanos and an excellent minimarket in Chrysoskalitissa (take the coast road through Livadia rather than the inland road through the mountains that Google Maps suggest as it's much, much quicker!). We loved the Gialites taverna in nearby Livadia for its delicious food using local ingredients and loved the food and staff at the Lefteris taverna in Kampos (their raki was the best!!). Elafonisi beach is beautiful - before the coaches arrive, so get there early. And do try the locally-caught fish at Kochilas taverna on the way. Falasarna beach is wonderful - try the smaller beach at the north end. A wonderful, memorable stay - and hope to return!

Sehr ruhige Lage, toller Pool

Insgesamt sehr schönes Objekt, traumhafter Pool aber einige Schattenseiten. Sehr gut: Pool Aussicht Ruhe Mittelmäßig: nächste Taverne etwa 5km Strände oft schwierig zu erreichen (unbefestigte Straßen) und ohne Infrastruktur Negativ: Waschmaschine funktionierte nicht Kühlschrank funktionierte die ganze Woche nicht (trotz Kommunikation), ab Mitte der Woche konnte der ebenfalls nur begrenzt gut kühlende Kühlschrank des Nebenhauses mit benutzt werden. Keine Infrastruktur in der Gegend, besonders schwierig ohne Kühlschrank Kaum Schatten am Pool Garten ungepflegt manches recht abgewohnt (Poolmöbel, Beschattung Freisitz)

Beautiful setting, very isolated, but lacking services and comforts.

The property has a beautiful pool and terrace with amazing views over the sea. The room sizes are good and functional. The "villa" was clean, but a bit run-down, and not well cared-for. Bathrooms are a good size, but shower cabins are too small. The online listing describes it being "nearby" a small town, but the nearest mini-market is a 25 min drive, the nearest super market is in Kissamoss (45 min away), nearest petrol station 30 min away. You can't get anywhere by walking except for the nearby pebble beach; but that’s a tough walk down the mountain for kids. We spent a lot of time in the car on these patch-work mountain roads. The lawn would be beautiful, if it were watered. Most of the grass was dead with large sandy patches. The pool terrace needs some umbrellas: there is absolutely no shade from 11 to sunset; this makes watching the kids in the pool a pain. Not good for grilling. Two small cheap grills were provided (possibly by a previous guest- though one was unused), but no grilling utensils. We were also warned that grilling when it is windy is not permitted, which it often is up on the mountain. Good advice with all the dead grass on the lawn.

We are not sure what you mean by run-down, but the shower cabins are a standard size of 80cm x 80cm. In addition to the information reported online, we sent you an email ahead of your arrival (like we always do with all customers) with all the useful information including the distance from taverns, banks, beaches, petrol stations etc, The closest village is Kampos (4km away), with its 3 taverns and a convenience shop selling groceries and other products. Elafonisi, with the supermarket you mentioned, is a 15-20 minutes drive - since Villa Asteraki is in a secluded area, unfortunately not all services and amenities will be at a walking distance. As for the pool area - the Villa does have a 5m long pergola by the pool, however when the sun starts to set (around 3pm in August) one might still have to catch some sun.. Finally, both grills provided belong to us (one being brand new), but it is a recommendation from the local authorities not to light barbecues during windy days - this is also something we share with our customers beforehand, since the Villa is surrounded by nature and olive trees. Traumhaft mit kleinen Mängeln

Der erste Eindruck war sehr gut. Tolle Lage, sehr gute Ausstattung, sauber, Kühlschrank mit Wasser und Obst gefüllt. Haus, Pool und Aussicht ist wunderbar. Leider ist das Eine oder Andere in die Jahre gekommen und sollte mal repariert/ersetzt werden (Fenster läßt sich nicht abschliessen, Poolfliesen lösen sich, Poollampen sind locker, Polster auf den Poolliegen tw. zerrissen und fleckig, Duschkopfhalter abgebrochen, Garten war nicht wirklich gepflegt wie auf den Fotos, die Wiese ist vermutlich der Hitze und Wassermangel zum Opfer gefallen) Alles nicht tragisch aber mindern eben das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Gastgeber waren wirklich sehr zuvorkommend, hilfsbereit und nett. Marina hat superschnell auf Anfragen reagiert und ist auch bemüht Dinge die reklamiert wurden (kaputte Waschmaschine und CD Spieler) schnellstmöglich zu reparieren. Haben die Woche mit Pool genossen!

Great location, Clean house/pool, Responsive host. Highly recommended to stay at Villa Askeraki to enjoy the West part of Crete. However, we noticed that a couple of items needed to be fixed in the house (e.g., shower head, flush, window lock). Also, note that you have to bring your own shampoo and soap.

Un merveilleux havre de paix

Nous avons adoré notre séjour de 3 semaines dans la villa Asteraki. La vue sur la mer et sur les oliviers est vraiment magique, l’endroit est très calme, on entend uniquement le merveilleux chant des cigales : un vrai régal ! La villa est très bien entretenue, très propre et très bien décorée/équipée. La propriétaire est adorable et disponible en cas de besoin, idem pour Agapi la housekeeper. Des supérettes et tavernes de qualité sont accessibles à 10-15 minutes en voiture, les plages de sable à 20 min (5-10 min pour les plages de galets). Nous n’avons vraiment manqué de rien ! C’est un endroit parfait pour une famille qui cherche un lieu de villégiature calme pour se reposer. Merci pour tout Marina et à très bientôt j’espère !

Great Villa in Beautiful Location

Nicely appointed villa in quiet surroundings. Owner was fantastic with communication and we were met at the villa for the handover and had local contacts if there were any issues. The view was fantastic and the pool was perfect for relaxing and cooling down in. We had everything we need to cook when we wanted to and there are some nice local tavernas within 10 to 20min drive away. The villa was fully air-conditioned which added to our comfort. With the westerly outlook the sunsets were magnificent as it dipped beyond the sea horizon. You will definitely need your own car as the location is remote and getting to any tourist sites or beaches requires a reasonable drive - 40 min to Elounda beech and 50 mins to Kissamos. The owner was also flexible with our late arrival time and also allowed us a late check out which we were very greatful for.

Ruhe Sonne und tolles Ambiente

Alles bestens, sauber, freundlich und komfortabel. Der Pool ist genial, Bäder funktionieren einwandfrei. Einrichtung sehr geschmackvoll. Haben einen BilligGrill in Kissamos gekauft und dort gelassen...die Nächsten freuen sich. 20 Minuten zum Strand von Elafonisi sind schnell zurück gelegt. Wir kommen bestimmt nochmal.

It’s true that the road is vertiginous as you arrive but that helps to keep this destination secret

The cleanest, most tastefully decorated and beautiful house you can imagine! Best swimming pool you can imagine- sheer heaven! Marina is an attentive hostess and Agapi was charming too!

Price and performance don't match

The house is really nice, quiet and built on high level. Unfortunately, the service is not. For example the internet worked for only two days and the owner as well as the house-keeper did not do anything about it. The answer was: "It's hard, you know and it should work tomorrow!" Well, it didn't... Twice we did not have any water for quite a while, which is really annoying. On the first day, the electricity failed, a lid for the pan is not available, the coffee-machine is really cheap and terrible. All in all: The place is nice but the service around it has a lot of deficits, which could easily be taken care of. So we will not return to this place. The Keramoti Villas on the other side of the street seem to be in better shape, they are bigger, cost almost the same and have a good view to the sea. At Villa Asteraki you can see the sea only from the pool-area.
