The house was immaculate and had everything you could need - we absolutely loved the kitchen and living area, and the festive touches were much appreciated as well. The house is very family and baby/toddler friendly and we really enjoyed our time here with our 18 month old.
The only thing that would have made it absolutely perfect would have been if the property was a little bit warmer - it felt quite cold, even when the heating was turned up, so perhaps some hot water bottles or an electric blanket for the bedrooms? We also would have appreciated an anti-slip bath mat for our little one as bath time was a bit precarious without one! Other than that, it was a great stay and we would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to explore Devon - particularly during summer.
Nice place nice house but the downstairs was far from clean . The windows appeared to have not been cleaned for years and the garden was unkept with hedges and grass that had probably not been cut this season. Rubbish was left by previous occupiers. You asked so that is our response we would not otherwise have mentioned it because we had a good holiday and a week of sun
We booked our stay relatively last minute, but at Belaire we found a dream place to stay in Devon. My wife and I were looking for location to have a UK mini-honeymoon, and wanted to also take our two children away for a a few nights so we could all relax after the stresses of the past few months. The house is huge and beautifully decorated, with a comfortable living room and kitchen downstairs and four good sized bedrooms and bathrooms on the first floor. It was spotlessly clean and felt perfectly safe and secure. The house was a little cold on arrival, but this is probably due to the ventilation required during cleaning at the present time - it warmed up very quickly once the heating was on.
It is located in a quaint little village, with plenty of lovely places to eat (we would recommend trying the plant burgers at The Globe Inn) and all within a short stroll of the house. It is also only about an hours drive from some of South Devon's best beaches, not to mention right in the middle of the Dartmoor National Park.
It is just a shame we only had a few days, we would definitely come back to stay here again!
We had a wonderful time at Chagford. House is beautiful and just a few minutes walk from some lovely pubs and shops. Well situated to drive to the coast or if you don’t want to drive too far, plenty of walks on Dartmoor
We loved the cottage, so stylish with everything you expect in a large property. The location could not be more perfect, you can walk to the village in less than a minute! The garden is perfect and overlooks the village church. Highly recommend this property for those who love the moors but do not want total isolation.
We had a lovely time at Belaire, spending the weekend with our family of 5 and their grandmother. We all loved the style and quirky layout of the house. My 91 year old mother even coped with the stairs and enjoyed sitting in the swing seat on the landing! Our "children" are aged 17, 18 and 23 and the generous space worked for us all.
This is a fantastic experience for a family and friends break. The village is outstanding and the location in the best possible place. Decor and setup of the house is beautiful- there’s everything you could want and more. Looking for the ideal Devonshire break, look no further.
Shame it’s battleship grey!
Lovely large property, more of a holiday home than a home. Things not quite laid out for a permanent home, needs a woman’s touch!
Feature baths although pretty are not very useable for the larger torso!, and taps need improving not very safety conscious.
It’s a shame the garden is not secured by gates or fences, as children or dogs could be free to escape!
Little things, draining board in kitchen, tv cabinet needs removing and tv fitting on wall. Garden needs tidying.
But overall excellent base for a large family to enjoy, lovely village of Chagford with excellent choice of pubs and eating places. Good selection of shops for daily provisions, and often evening take away wagons producing great food. Great walking from the house, but often for the energetic!
Forget the colour of the house, enjoy the interior and the excellent position.

We loved the house! Charming and immaculate. Well located to the town. Only small complaint was that we could not find the hair dryer.

Beautiful house in a beautiful village!
We had a wonderful stay in this fantastic house in Chagford. The property and garden was fantastic and had everything we needed - it has clearly been lovingly put together. The village of Chagford is very nice and is a great location from which to explore Dartmoor. I really couldn’t fault our stay and we’d love to come back one day! Thank you.

Lovely cosy cottage in a great location
A great short break, loved the wood burner and quirky fixtures and fittings and the wood floors. Two minute walk to the lovely village of Chagford with plenty of places to eat or get all conveniences, including fresh bread and croissants, but still very quiet and relaxing at the property. Second bedroom lacked storage space but ok for our short stay. Louisa was very helpful and close by for any problems, not that we had any. The welcome pack was perfect, thank you.
