Great place to stay, ideal for all attractions in the area and only 90 mins from Weymouth Sally was a great host and would recommend anyone thinking about staying to do so. Great little touch with the eggs and fresh bread
We had a four night stay. Very comfortable accommodation, great location for us to explore Longleat, Frome and Bath

Unfortunately we cannot recommend staying by the byre. There was hair in the bedroom, the floor cracks very loud by every step, beds are very uncomfy (very very soft mattress) with the cheapest linen, only one pan in the kitchen and it was broken and you can hear everthing your neighbours do through the walls. I became very ill on day2 and due to the lack of comfort we decided to cancel immediately. We booked for nearly 3 weeks, but the owner wasn't so friendly to return us at least a bit of the money.
Good: the floor heating works very good, a lot of information about the region provided, grounds are well maintained

Hi Ute
We’re very sorry to hear you’ve given us such a bad review. We take all complaints very seriously but we would like to address a few points.
When we popped over to say hello just after you arrived on your first day, your husband said everything was fine but unfortunately you were already in bed with a fever, so we appreciate this wasn't the best start to your stay.
We are sorry you found our cleanliness less than perfect. This is something we pride ourselves on and as you can see from our other reviews (including ones from our other properties) our previous guests think so too. However we do admit we are human so things can occasionally be overlooked, for this we are very sorry. You only needed to mention it to us and we would have happily put things right.
Every cottage has 3 pans of varying sizes and 2 frying pans. I know these were there at the beginning of your stay as I counted them myself (along with every cup, plate, knife and fork!). There were also 3 pans when you left. All we can think of is that as you were ill in bed your husband used 2 of the pans and put them in another cupboard, or maybe they were in the dishwasher. We’ve checked all three pans and can't find anything wrong with any of them, the handles weren't even loose which does happen occasionally (nothing a screwdriver can't fix!)
We know that mattresses are a personal preference however again as our previous guests have mentioned ours seem to be very comfortable for most people! Our linen is provided by a very reputable provider, which I can assure you is not cheap! In fact we choose to use the same linen on our own bed!
Frustratingly none of these complaints were mentioned to us whilst you were here, which is a shame as we find most most things can be rectified straight away, allowing you to continue and enjoy your stay.
Finally when you left all your husband told us that as you were so ill he was having to take you home. No complaints, no mention that anything was wrong, no asking for a refund. Until we read this review our understanding was that you were quite unwell when you arrived, then were too ill to enjoy your stay, so your husband took you home.
It may be worth mentioning at this point we ALWAYS recommend travel insurance whether you're coming from within the UK but especially abroad. Things occasionally happen for the worst, so its always worth having, just in case!

Really gorgeous setting on a farm with a safe and fun child play area. Cottage was very child friendly with stair gates and a cot and high chair so was relaxing as soon as we arrived. Great communication from hosts. Location was perfect, 25 mins to Bath to see the sites but near plenty of other things to see and do as well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 (I would give 4.8 if I could!) was the walls were very thin between our rooms so our daughter was easily woken and we could hear the property next to us as well (and I’m sure they weren’t impressed by our daughter’s 5am waking either!). So would 100% recommend unless you are someone who would be very bothered by that.

Hi Jennifer
We're so glad you had a nice few days! It was lovely to see your daughter enjoying everything we have to offer and making special memories with her Grandma!
I just thought for other potential guests its worth us just staying that our Cottages are made of block brick construction (just like a normal house!). They are however in a terrace, so some noise may be heard from other guests, especially when the weather is nice and doors and windows are open!

Property was spacious, well maintained and charming. Excellent location, close to many nearby activities. Owners have been nothing but helpful and brilliant.
Great location to those wishing to site see in Somerset.
Great spacious property and grounds, kid friendly. Location was perfect to see the sites in Somerset and beyond. Property was clean and well furnished with all mode cons. Staff were friendly and on-hand during our 2-week stay.
