About this property
House on the edge of a wild beach, between Pointe du raz and Audierne
Close to the beach, facing south, with sea views and the sound of the ocean, this old family house (1870) has been renovated and modernized with quality materials.
It offers for 4 people an ideal vacation place to feel at home.
One bedroom has a double bed, the second has 2 single beds. A bathroom (bathtub and WC) is also upstairs.
The ground floor consists of a single room (40m2) on one level which overlooks the garden. In winter, it can be heated by a wood stove.
The modern and equipped adjoining kitchen is overlooked by an office (internet) equipped with an extra bed (futon).
The decoration sought is integrated with the dominant materials (stone and wood).
The sandy beach, supervised for swimming in July and August, is renowned for its surfing and its wild beauty. It is easily accessible on foot from the house, as well as a coastal path which allows beautiful walks.
Shops are at the port of Audierne. Many sea activities (sailing, fishing, diving) and tours are available nearby.
The house is located very close to the sea and the beach in the village of Kerlaouen in the town of Esquibien which adjoins the port of Audierne.
This part of Brittany, cap sizun, keeps many wild and natural aspects typical of the Pointe du Raz (15km).
Accessible from Quimper (45mn) and Brest (1h) airports, the roads are also of very good quality from Paris (600km of expressway and motorway).
If it is easy to savor the pleasure of the beach or coastal hiking (in the footsteps of the wreck looters),
it is also possible to shine and discover other facets of Brittany in Quimper (Cornish festival in July), Locronan (medieval town), Douarnenez (Boat Museum, Dragon regattas), Pont l'Abbé (capital of la bigoudénie), île de sein (lobster stew specialty), Crozon (underwater caves) which are accessible within a radius of 40km.
The port of Audierne is at the same time a fishing port renowned for its liner of bar and caseyeurs (lobster). In the afternoon the fishermen bring their catch to the auction. It is also a marina where it is possible to organize trips to the sea.
A little reading of the past will make the beauty of the site better than a description:
'... and suddenly the sea that we had been skirting for a long time on our left was discovered on our right, towards the bay of the dead and the tip of the van: that was all, my throat became knotted, I felt in the hollow of the stomach the first movement of seasickness, I was aware in a second, literally, materially, of the huge mass behind me of Europe and Asia, and I felt like a projectile at the end of the cannon , suddenly hidden in the light. I have never found, there or elsewhere, this cosmic and brutal sensation of soaring, intoxicating, exhilarating, which I had never expected 'Julien Gracq, 1937
