The host was very timely in her responses when we had a few questions and she was quick to address our concerns. It is a small cabin/house that sits in a perfect location. The cabin/house was cozy. We would definitely stay there again.
There were a lot of great things about this property and some things could use improvement. Great things were location, parking & house entrance on one level, quiet street, comfy beds, nice dining space & good bath towels. The washer broke but the dryer worked & the owner was very responsive. Electricity went out because of fires in Reno & house had no lantern, two old used-up candles & a dying flashlight. Seemed inadequate for an emergency. No extra batteries anywhere. Pillows on the bed are really old. We enjoyed the coffee, had good showers and watched Netflix & live TV news. It met all our needs just wasn’t luxury. Not a bad stay.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the location, quiet street, easy access and parking, comfortable beds, dining area, towels, coffee, and entertainment options. We also appreciate your understanding regarding the washer and are glad we were able to respond promptly. The washer has been repaired and now operates properly.
We especially appreciate the feedback about emergency lighting during the unexpected power outage caused by the Reno-area fires. That’s a very helpful observation, and we have replaced the batteries in the flashlights and added fresh candles so future guests are better prepared if there is another outage.
I am heading up myself next week and will bring up brand-new pillows for all the beds. Good pillows make all the difference in a good night’s sleep!
We’re glad the cabin met your needs overall and that you had a comfortable stay. Thank you again for both the positive comments and the constructive suggestions.
We had a very pleasant stay in Truckee at this cute cabin! Very pet friendly with comfy beds and plenty of space in common areas to hang out! We loved the privacy of the loft master bedroom, and the mattress was new and comfy. The cabin had a nice selection of games and activities and we appreciated the passes to the pool/sauna, although we didn't take as much advantage as we would like. It's definitely got the cozy nostalgic vibe of a childhood summer cabin and would be nice for families!
Great place with easy road access and driveway and close to Donner Pass Road. Clean and cozy. The host is awesome - quick to respond and very accommodating. Would love to stay again.
We had a great weekend at this cozy cabin in Truckee. The decor is a bit outdated, but the place was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. It was perfect for fun family time and was great to be able to include our dogs. The host was easy to communicate with and very responsive. Overall, a peaceful and enjoyable stay.
What a great place! There was a snow storm the week before so we had loads of snow right by the cabin - perfect for snow play and short sled rides for our 3 year old and parents! The cabin was cozy - lots of games to keep us occupied. The host, Amy is so responsive - quick answers to our questions. We would definitely come back here.
The house is in a good location, it is just very tired and dated. When you walk in, the first thing you see is the carpet going upstairs that is very stained and dirty looking. The house was clean, and the hosts were very communicative.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Listing accuracy
This cabin is incredibly dated and not kept up. We had several problems within the cabin. The carpets were incredibly stained, some of the screens were ripped on the windows, there was a curtain missing with a broken rod in one of the bedrooms making it very difficult to sleep in the room, one of the windows was broken in the other bedroom and could not be opened, there was issues with the washing machine because the lid does not close properly…Amy, the host responded quickly and offered to send a maintenance man, a landscaper, etc., but these are things that no one should have to deal with while on vacation. The pictures did not represent what the cabin actually looked like in the inside. It was very obvious that this cabin is maintained with very minimal care. One of the things I was most excited about was the picture of the red adirondack chairs on the front deck and how inviting it looked and I was looking forward to sitting out there and reading my book, but they were nowhere to be found except for a broken one under the deck. The one plus was the location of the cabin. But I would not stay at this rental again especially with kids.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We want future guests to know that we take feedback seriously, and we acted quickly to address the concerns that were brought to our attention.
We responded promptly during this stay and offered to have maintenance address the concerns that were reported. We also recognize that guests should be able to relax and enjoy their vacation without having to deal with maintenance issues.
Many aspects of our cabin are original and, to us, are part of its mountain charm. We do our best to accurately represent the cabin in our listing photos so guests know what to expect. We were surprised by the comment regarding the Adirondack chairs, as we replaced the red chairs shown in the older photo with new blue Adirondack chairs this spring. A previous guest had moved them from the front deck to the back deck, where they remained during this stay. We will make sure they are returned to the front deck for future guests to enjoy.
We have scheduled repairs and improvements over Labor Day weekend, including addressing the damaged window screens, bedroom window mechanism, washing machine lid, and adding a curtain in the bunk room. A busy summer inevitably brings some wear and tear, and unfortunately not every issue is reported to us when it occurs. We are taking this opportunity to thoroughly inspect the cabin and address those items before our next guests arrive.
We appreciate the feedback and are using it constructively. We love the cabi
I love Truckee and this property was perfect for my 2 week stay. Really comfy beds, plenty of towels, close to everything and passes to the beach. Most of the time I was alone and I felt super safe. Plenty of dishes for when family comes to visi. I had a great time.

Very nice cabin; a lot to do in the area
Nice area near downtown Truckee. Great restaurants and resorts nearby. Owner was very helpful and quick to respond
Cozy three bedroom cabin. Close to down town Truckee, golf and access to Tahoe-Donner community amenities. Nothing fancy but very comfortable. Great beds!
This was the perfect cabin for our family and 2 dogs! Beds were very comfortable. Nice backyard deck for relaxing in the afternoon. Small kitchen but adequate for cooking simple meals. Great location. We hope to visit again
This house was perfect for our family of 5 and a dog. Owners were easy to communicate with and the property was all we needed for our 5 night stay. Cozy fire place, comfy beds, fun foosball table, great place to unwind.

About the host
Hosted by Amy Lerseth
Hi there! Our names are Amy and Brian. We live in Sacramento, California with our four young sons. Having grown up in Northern California we both love the Tahoe area and absolutely fell in love with Donner Lake and the Tahoe Donner community. Naturally, with four boys, we are an exceptionally active family and Tahoe Donner has something for every one of the boys in every season. We are thrilled to have been able to make this mountain cabin dream come true for our family. We're looking forward to sharing our little piece of paradise with you and hope you'll love it as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
The cabin is located in lower Tahoe Donner, which makes it really close to all of the Tahoe Donner amenities (clubhouses, golf courses, pools, tennis courts, etc.) and also a short jaunt to Historic Downtown Truckee. In fact, there is a walking trail that starts just down the street from our cabin that leads directly to the heart of the restaurants and shops in Downtown Truckee. Our street is a loop and is therefore really quiet; on many days you'll see more people walking than driving.
