About this property
Sunset Cabin, watch the sunset over the north Devon horizon in this cosy cabin!
Forget a room with a view, how about a cabin with a view! After a long day exploring north Devon this is the perfect place to unwind, with a glass of something nice, while watching the spectacular sunset. Sunset Cabin has the most wonderful sunset views that will take your breath away. Followed by a clear night with beautiful starry skies, this truly is a special place. This self catering cabin has 3 bedrooms that comfortably sleeps up to 4 adults (in king/double beds) and 2 children (in bunk beds).
This is a place to escape it all in a peaceful and rural location within 22 acres of north Devon countryside, woodland, and lying near to an iron-age hillfort and a lake. The location is perfect for a holiday in north Devon with plenty to explore, such as the wonderful beaches and Exmoor National Park.
The outdoors space is what is truly special about Sunset Cabin. There is a large decking area, with comfortable outside lounge furniture as well as outside dining table and chairs and a picnic bench in the garden. All of which have stunning views of the north Devon country side, with glimpses of the sea, wonderful sunsets and amazing starry skies. The garden itself is large and enclosed, and there is a woodland and meadow walk straight from the garden onto private land which includes a lake and the iron-age hillfort.
The cabin sleeps up to 4 adults and 2 children. There is a king en-suite bedroom, a double bedroom, and a small bunk bed room which due to the size is really only suitable for children or 1 petite adult - the beds are small singles (2'6" by 6'3"). Despite having 3 bedrooms this cabin is popular and cosy enough as a romantic getaway for a couple!
The kitchen is fully stocked with all that you'd expect including a kettle, toaster, microwave, oven. The living room is comfortable and cosy ... especially when the log burner is lit! There is a utility room with dishwasher and washing machine.
The cabin is in a rural location, about a 5 minute drive from the village of Bratton Fleming. There are a number of great pubs/restaurants (many of them dog friendly) that we can recommend which are all within a 10 - 30 minute drive away.
We are very dog friendly and doggies are welcome to stay. There is an enclosed garden although you are welcome to explore the 22 acres of countryside at your leisure. Please note that dogs must be kept off all furniture, muddy paws must be cleaned before entering the cabin, and all dog poo must be picked up from the garden and paths. There is an additional charge for more than 2 dogs.
There is plenty to see and do in north Devon during your visit. Why not try your hand at surfing at the nearby beaches such as Croyde, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe, or hire a bicycle and ride the famous Tarka Trail, or go hiking in Exmoor, or walk the spectacular South West Coast Path? Other attractions to visit include Arlington Court and Castle Hill Gardens that are also very close if you like to explore National Trust properties, or for something different you could visit Quince Honey Farm in nearby South Molton. There’s plenty for kids too, such as the Exmoor Zoological Park, Milky Way Adventure Park and Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park.
The cabin is unfortunately not disability or wheelchair friendly.
There is parking for up to 3 cars.
Please note the following:
* No additional guests and no parties are allowed
* The noise level must be kept to a minimum after 10pm to be respectful of us, our neighbours and other holiday properties (we live just up the lane so will know!)
* The property must be left in a reasonable clean and tidy condition on check-out
Failure to do this may mean additional payments from the security deposit will be taken.
There are 2 holiday properties at Mossy Beech, Sunset Cabin and Woodpecker Lodge. They are nicely spaced apart allowing for privacy of guests who are staying here.
