Had a great stay with our family. Close enough to enjoy Baltimore, but also far enough to get away from urban life. Plenty of space in the house, as well as outside for our dogs to play in the fenced in yard. Great view, especially during sunrise!
We stayed here while we were up for Thanksgiving and we had a great stay. Location was perfect and house was awesome for our family. Would definitely stay here again.
We loved the River house! Beautiful location! The entire space was perfect to gather with family for Thanksgiving! Sunrise on the dock is awesome! We will be back!
The property was open and inviting. The beds were comfortable, a nice fenced in yard for the dogs was appreciated. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, slow cooker, roaster, etc. we would definitely come back.
We had a great time at this lovely house on the river with our 2 year old and dog. The view was fabulous and the house was clean and so charmingly decorated. Was also stocked with everything we needed.
Exceeded my expectation. I loved that it was dog friendly. The host was very helpful. The view of the river and the relaxing atmosphere was perfect. The house was roomy yet cozy. I enjoyed the porch, patio and the riverfront seating areas.
I stayed at the house with my daughters (ages 14 and 20), my husband, mother in law, and mother. There was plenty of room for the whole family. We loved fishing and relaxing by the water on the long private dock.

Spent much time on the deck, enjoying the water. Hostess nice, but did not remedy no lights in the kictchen our last 3 days. Provided no dish washer soap or kleenexes.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much! It was so peaceful and relaxing. Just what we wanted. Michelle was great to work with and check in was a breeze. If you’re looking for zen this is the place to stay. The house was adorable and well stocked with anything you may need. Several stores close by for groceries, lots of restaurants. Tiki Lees is a must for good food and fun atmosphere. A drive to Annapolis was worth visiting. Very historic and lots of cute shops! Fireworks on the river for the 4th were amazing! Thank you Michelle for sharing your home with us!

Wonder on the Water
We came to stay at The River House this weekend to attend the Capital Jazz Festival...the festival was great but the high point of the weekend was our time at the River House..the weather, the water, the house..WOW! We had a group of 6 people..we laughed, we talked and we barbequed, boy did we barbeque, I would highly recommend The River House..except on my weekend

Thank You for a wonderful experience

Wake up, grab your cup of coffee, meander out to the dock and watch the birds fly over the river- ducks, geese, osprey, bald eagles, cormorants … so peaceful! The house offers all you need - comfy beds, a bedroom and full bath on the first floor for those unable to climb stairs, room to spread out … it was wonderful! I am from the Baltimore area and never knew this art of the world existed. It’s a little out if the way, (20 minutes from downtown Baltimore) but is so worth it!

Could be better
Older home. Needs Tlc. Needs a thorough cleaning. Furnite old very worn, dirty
We spent the fourth of July weekend here and we had the absolute best time. We had two kids with us (9 & 10) who spent lots of time in the water, running and jumping off the dock. (The water quality is not pristine, but our boys didn’t mind and took showers after each swim and were fine.) We had our two dogs and the yard was perfect for them. The house itself is an adorable, recently updated cottage that was spacious and very comfortable. Michelle met us at the property and have lots of local recommendations, she was so kind welcoming. This was the perfect spot for us to get away, and still be just an hour from DC. We are already talking about returning next summer!

Beautiful View
We had a great time although the cleanliness of the river kept us from swimming. That was a huge downer. Seems wastewater plant is getting under control but we didn’t want to risk becoming sick. The beach tiki area shown was over grown and hot tub doesn’t work. House had lots of ants which wasn’t that big of a deal. The dock (pier) was great for fishing but we so missed swimming.
The upper part of the Chesapeake Bay has many unique waterfront neighborhoods in east Baltimore. This adorable cottage sits on a beautiful and surprisingly quiet spot on Back River. Our family of 4 enjoyed four nights here while our home 40 mins away was being renovated. The location was convenient for going to the office and well equipped for working from home too. The pictures represent the property well. The deck was so pleasant, shady and breezy, and seemed like the coolest place to be during a heat wave, plus the AC kept the first floor the perfect temperature. The hammock by the water was a favorite spot for teenagers to read and nap. The decor is eclectic, interesting and fun! We had everything we needed in the kitchen and the beds were comfy. Michelle helped us quickly with anything that was needed and advice on where to order crabs and get supplies. She’s a great host and we could tell she really wanted us to be happy! The neighbors were friendly, too. If you want a brand new, perfect house, this isn’t the place for you. But if you want to stay at a place that’s wonderful, relaxing, and a special piece of Baltimore … this is the perfect house.
We booked this property to work from home at someone else's home. We just needed a break. The owner, Michelle, was super communicative and helpful throughout the process and we booked for two weeks.
First thing to know is the house is much bigger than it looks in the pictures. The open floor plan including the kitchen, dining room and living room are plenty big enough for 5-6 people. The house was spotless, and literally has everything you need to stay--except food, of course. It is actually a house you can live in without trying to figure out how to cook without the essential kitchen tools.
Michelle was always available if we had questions and was incredibly nice. The river views are amazing and I will bet in the summer it is loads of fun.
The house is really accessible to Baltimore/DC and is just a great place to getaway without having to drive 3 hours.

Beautiful view!
Michelle met us at the property upon our arrival to give us a quick tour and info about tvs and heat, etc. She was prompt with answers to all of our questions. The house has a cute layout and quirky decor- perfect for a getaway. Friendly neighbors.
Future guests: Bring toilet paper and paper towels. Though these are marked as amenities we found that there were not enough for the length of our stay- extras were not provided. Be aware that the waterway you are staying on - Back River- is just miles from a wastewater treatment plant and has very recently been deemed contaminated. Articles in the Washington Post and Baltimore Sun were upsetting to read as soon as we arrived home. We were glad we did not get in the water or catch any fish or crabs that we might have been tempted to eat.
Lastly, the property is located in a sweet, quiet enclave which was peaceful during the day and night. The surrounding area, however is mostly industrial and unattractive.
Thank you for allowing us to use your home and bring our dog. We made memories, and that was the purpose of our trip!

Beautiful home- Not private
Let me start off by saying that this property is perfect. Absolutely gorgeous and right on the water. It was the best possible spot for our out-of-town friends to all stay during our wedding weekend. However, the owner of the house could not get past our age -- we are in our late 20s and she made note almost immediately that we were the youngest people she had rented to. It was obvious that she didn’t trust us, as she made unannounced appearances on each of the 3 days that we rented from her. We kept the house clean and orderly during our stay, yet she managed to ‘pop over’ to leave us sponges, or to ‘decorate the yard with pumpkins for the fall’ or to complain that it was more cars in the driveway than she expected. She came into the house as i was walking out in my wedding dress to express her concerns about our stay. She was coming up with constant reasons to come over and check in on what we were doing. Let me reiterate that this was in fact the absolute PERFECT property for what we needed, so in that sense, we were thrilled. However, it made it very difficult feeling as though she was watching our every move. It didn’t help that she added to the stress of an already stressful weekend getting ready for the most important day of our lives. Would have rated 5 stars if the owner would have stayed away during our vacation.
We are a husband and wife owner. We built this home as our primary residence as we love the water. Please enjoy our home and the beauty that the Chesapeake has to offer.
