About this property
3-bedroom holiday cottage in Woolacombe with sea views and within walking distance of the beach
Wow what a location! Set high on the cliff above the beach at Combesgate, Woolacombe is Sunnycliffe, a bright, open-plan 3-bedroom house with amazing sea views. You can easily walk into the popular seaside resort of Woolacombe and to the 3-miles of golden sands at Woolacombe Bay, alternatively the smaller beaches of Combesgate and Barricane are over the road.
Inside Sunnycliffe, there are 3 good sized bedrooms, all located on the first floor, these include a master with sea views, a king-size double bed and an en-suite bathroom complete with a shower, a wash-basin and a WC. The second double bedroom also has fantastic views over the sea and across Woolacombe Bay to Baggy Point. The final bedroom is a twin and has two full size single beds, as well as a small balcony where you can stand and look out over the countryside and sea beyond. There is also a family bathroom on the first floor, which is fitted with a bath with a good overhead shower, a wash basin and a WC.
Downstairs at the house there is a wonderful open plan living area, which is beautifully bright and spacious and benefits from stunning sea views thanks to large windows and doors opening out onto the terrace and balcony where the breath-taking views over the sea are best enjoyed. The lounge has two large leather sofas plus a tub-chair and bean bags for children. There is a flat-screen TV/DVD and WiFi. On entering the house there is a small lobby with space to store coats and boots.
The kitchen is situated to the left as you enter the main room and is well equipped with ample storage space and work surfaces. Appliances include an electric built-in oven, a four-ring hob, a dishwasher, a microwave and a four-slice toaster, plus a small dining table ideal for relaxed breakfast. Next to the kitchen is a useful utility room with a washing machine and ironing board, plus a handy downstairs loo.
To really make the most of the incredible sea views Sunnycliffe has a lovely south facing terrace with sun-loungers and a table and chairs, plus parasol. Also to the side of the house is a lovely large balcony with a corner sofa, two chairs and a table, there is a glass balustrade to provide uninterrupted sea views.
There are steps down from the house to the parking area, where there is space for one car. One additional small car can be parked in the garage (please ask the team for additional details).
Please note Sunnycliffe is not suitable for less mobile guests, and we are unfortunately unable to welcome pets.
Sunnycliffe is perfectly located on the edge of the very popular seaside village of Woolacombe, which is renowned for its stunning golden beach that stretches for almost three miles. The award-winning beach is patrolled by lifeguards from Easter through to the end of October and is loved by water-sport enthusiasts, as well as families visiting with children. There is plenty to see and do in Woolacombe with various different shops, pubs and restaurants, if you fancy it there is even England's oldest night club located in the village. For days when the beach is not suitable, many of the nearby holiday parks are open to day visitors who can take advantage of the onsite facilities, such as a paint a pot. Further along the coast, beyond Baggy Point, which can be reached by walking the South West Coast Path is the trendy surfing village of Croyde, which is home to more great pubs and surfing shops. If heading in the opposite direction Mortehoe is just up the road from Sunnycliffe and has some great place to enjoy a meal or get a take away, with the deli providing picnics for walks along the coast path or up to Morte Point where the views are spectacular. Other nearby places worth visiting include Braunton, Ilfacombe and Combe Martin. Alternatively, Exmoor is only a 30-minute drive from Woolacombe and is a wonderful place to enjoy a traditional cream tea whilst taking in the local scenery and wildlife, make sure to stop off at Lynton and Lynmouth to see the Valley of the Rocks and the famous water-powered Cliff Railway.
