A beautiful and well appointed home overlooking the river. The deck was sublime for morning coffee and evening meals. The beds were very comfortable with the softest sheets. With such close proximity to Truckee and Lake Tahoe it was a breeze going out to dinner, hitting the trails or any other activities. We already look forward to coming back!
Home was immaculate. Very clean and beautiful inside. We had a great time - Amazing views. Would certainly return (Many more times..). Riaz was very quick with responses and was very accommodating.
Awesome property. As advertised. Close to I-85, so if you need to go to Reno or a quick store stop all is within driving distance. But the property is nicely secluded. I would recommend and would stay there again. Great views too!

Thanks for the 5 star review! To clarify, the house is located just a mile of Interstate 80, in a quiet, small, secluded neighborhood by the river called Hirschdale.
The cabin was gorgeous and exactly as described! Very clean place with wonderful amenities that made our stay wonderful. The views were amazing, great cabin!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. The location was perfect, offering easy access to Donner Lake, Truckee, and several river access points. The house was clean, well-maintained, and the high-quality linens and comfortable beds provided an excellent night's rest. We especially loved the beautiful views from the deck, which became our favorite spot for morning coffee and evening cocktails. The well-stocked kitchen also made it very easy for us to cook and BBQ.We had a great time playing pool, listening to music, and streaming movies in the game room. The owner was responsive and helpful whenever I had a question. We would absolutely book this home again

Thanks for this great review and your kind words, you are welcome back any time!
First place at the cost per day made me question if I should investigate further... Also, being some 6-miles east of Truckee made me wonder if that would cause us some second thoughts... Nothing could be farther than what this property offered. The Cost was very, very spot on - - especially for the family of 12 that I had... The 4-Bedrooms... spotless property ,, unbelievably well appointed and so easy to get to from Highway 80...The communication as helpfulness of the property owner was beyond my experience in renting homes and/or cabin - - via VRBO both here in the USA as well as in Europe...My advise to the next renter - - Know that this was a true jewel of a rental.P. We had a great stay! I had never stayed in this part of Truckee before, but it was nice and secluded. The view from the living room was amazing with the river and snow covered mountains. The owner was super attentive and checked on our stay. Great house, location, and winter vacation.

Thanks for the 10/10 review and your kind words, I hope you'll be back!
We loved our time at the Truckee River House! It's a gorgeous house and setting, with everything provided for an amazing stay. Check in and check out was extremely easy, kitchen well stocked, and communication with host was awesome and with a quick response time. We were in the Truckee area for my son's wedding, and it was super close to the venue and made it easy to go back and forth. We even did the 'first look' photos there with the gorgeous views off the back deck. It was super hot this weekend, and even with all the provided fans (lifesavers!) with no AC (as in most mountain houses), it got toasty and a bit hard to fall asleep upstairs, but just saying this so you can bring extra fans if you go during a hot time and remember to keep windows open at night to let the cool night mountain air in. It still was super awesome and I'd stay there again in a heartbeat!

Thanks for the great review, I'm glad you had an amazing stay and enjoyed the gorgeous views! It is important for future guests to know that the house does not have AC, so I'm glad you mentioned this. There are typically a handful of days each summer when we have a heat wave and it gets hot during the day, but the need has not been enough to warrant an AC system. The house has 8-10 fans, and the evenings always cool down with cool air to let in all night.
We had a great stay! Such a beautiful home and location and had everything we needed. The only downside is the house doesn’t have direct access to the river, but we would stay here again!!

Thanks for the great review, I'm glad you enjoyed the house, and I hope to have you back!
Yes, it is important for prospective guests to know that landowners along the river are now vigorously enforcing no trespassing. Access to the river from the back yard of this house is not legally possible as there is private property between it and the river. However, it's only a 100 yard walk from the front door to the Hirschdale Bridge where the public may legally access the river. There is also a really nice 100 acre parcel 1/4 mile (10 minute walk) from the house which provides public access to the river, a beautiful meadow, and lots of good fishing water!
This is our second year staying here. Great location, beautiful view and easy access. Home is laid out nicely with room for guests in separate areas. Nicely equipped and well stocked with firewood. Plenty of dishes and space to accommodate groups comfortably for dining. We visit our kids who live nearby and appreciate the home is pet friendly and there are nice dog walk areas close by. Host is friendly and responsive. Thank you!

Yes, I appreciate you mentioning this unique feature of the house. The upstairs and downstairs each have their own living room, appliances, utensils, bedrooms, bathrooms, and outdoor access, making it possible to have separation if desired. Thanks for the 10!
