We had a fantastic time staying at the Barn, everything was as advertised, Gillian and David were brilliant and would definitely recommend this property, nice area exactly what we were looking for.
The Barn is an amazing place to stay. It is cosy with beautiful authentic details, the view is brilliant and it is equipped with everything you need. The surrounding is amazing. We really recommend it!
The cottage is really well-equipped, spotlessly clean, with spacious rooms and a very nice kitchen. There is a garden at the back where the kids could play, plus a bigger one at the front of the house too.
Gillian and David made us feel very welcome and we had a lovely week at "The Barn".
The best hosts! We couldn’t have asked for a nicer couple to help us when our plans had to change mid-trip, they were kind and thoughtful. The home is a bucolic getaway in the country ideally situated for any number of day trips, the kitchen had everything we could have asked for, and the main bath was perfect for our family of 5. Would love to visit again!
Lovely barn conversion with fantastic views owned by warm and engaging hosts. You will find everything you need for a home from home stay. Comfy beds, beautiful views - from the kitchen window and the outdoor decking area and lawn. We loved watching the birds and especially the swifts chasing each other across the fields. The hosts, Gillian and David are on hand if needed, but are not intrusive. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay.

Thank you so much for your lovely words, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Great to meet you and hope to see you again.
Kind regards

On a recent trip to the UK from Canada, we stayed in 5 different locations. This was easily our favourite.
Spacious guest house on their farm. Easy parking, beautiful views off the back deck, modern appliances, lots of space in the kitchen.
Bedrooms were spacious, comfortable beds, well maintained bathroom.
Checkin and interactions with our lovely hosts were informative. They are both easy to work with.
We wish we had more time there and would make a specific point of going back if we are ever back to the UK.

Very well maintained house which is furnished with attention to detail.
The owners are very accommodating and helpful.
We were helped with a lot of time with our rental car and the
rental company. Thanks again for that!
The location is very quiet in a rural setting.
There is plenty of outdoor space available.
The rooms are also very comfortable with very comfortable mattresses.
Large kitchen, dining area and living room.
I can only recommend this accommodation.

I stayed alone in this converted barn for two weeks. It is totally spectacular inside and very well maintained. All three bedrooms are beautiful. It was exceptionally clean and fully equipped with everything you would need throughout your stay. The countryside views are breathtaking from the windows, especially from the master bedroom and the kitchen. You may not want to leave as it is so relaxing and peaceful there. I could have stayed there forever. Thank you to the owners for a memorable stay. I will be back.

Hi Julie, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay and we would love to see you back. All the best, David & Gilly
Poor customer service - do NOT stay until the water pressure issue is resolved
We stayed between 24th – 29th December 2022 and throughout our stay there was very low water pressure at the property and we were unable to shower. The bath and toilets took a long time to fill as a consequence. We notified the hosts, David and Gillian, of the issue at the time and as the issue could not be resolved during our stay we asked them for compensation (the value of one night) following our stay. They were dismissive and uncooperative in their messages and despite Vrbo speaking with them on the phone, they would not offer us any compensation and Vrbo could not help us further, as any compensation is solely down to the hosts discretion and Vrbo have no power to intervene.
I would therefore recommend to only book this property, once you have confirmed with the hosts that this issue has been resolved.
The property itself is really nice, a great space and in a very nice location, so it was a shame we were unable to shower / wash properly and the hosts did not provide good customer service and did not even apologise for the inconvenience.
Firstly Roy left The Barn in good condition.
The burst water main on our neighbours property 1/2 mile from The Barn, which froze and split in the cold weather and caused low pressure has been repaired.
The water pressure is restored.
So please DO stay.
This Force Majeure occurred over the Christmas holidays, plant machinery @ operatives were procured as soon as possible during a difficult time to do so and the main repaired.
During a cordial lengthy conversation 3 days into Roy’s 5 day stay it was mentioned that they were having difficulty using the shower but there was still water to the property, I explained that a burst main had been discovered and that was probably the problem but sadly apart from notifying our neighbour and asking him to fix the leak and communicating with him on a daily basis, it was out of our control, it would be fixed by the new year.
This was acknowledged and we continued our conversation with other matters.
At no time during that conversation was it said that it was such an issue that a resolution or compensation was required or VRBO contacted to notify them of any issues.
Check out day came and the party left, leaving positive feedback in our visitors book, I Quote, “Thank you for a Wonderful stay in your lovely barn. Very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Christmas here was amazing. Thank you again.” and then verbally as they left.
It was a surprise therefore that 2 days after they had departed that we received a message via VRBO seeking compensation.
In our response We offered to look favourably at discounting a future stay.
This was ignored and in the following reply it was stated that the claim for a refund equivalent to one nights stay was on behalf of a third party.
Again we responded letting Roy Know that we would not be offering compensation in this instance.
We are advised by VRBO and not obliged in any way to engage in communication with a Third party.
As an example The Water Authority will only give a 1 off payment of just £25 per annum if the pressure drops below 7 mtrs head for 1 or more days.
We were not at fault, neither did we have any control over the drop in pressure.
We pride ourselves in good customer service and responded to all of Roy’s messages & subsequently communicating with VRBO
There was no complaint with the customer service involving the extras we provided and that were consumed, Christmas tree, fully decorated, crackers and decorations, Prosecco, biscuit’s & chocolates and other sundry items.
Given all of the above, we can only assume that Roy and his party had an Amazing time and his review saying that we were uncooperative, is as a result of him, neither his 3rd party guests getting a refund equivalent to one nights stay.
We have been in business 27 years and this is a first.

Great place to stay in the country- close to Oxford and the Cotswolds. Very comfortable,no complaints. Given a nice tour by owner. Has a great outdoor area for the kids.
We were looking for somewhere to stay with family to celebrate a 60th birthday. The Barn's generous size was what first attracted us to it and once there we found it to be very comfortable sand warm with an incredibly well equipped kitchen and a very pleasing design. The hosts were very welcoming with just the right balance of leaving us to ourselves and being ready to help.
The quietest place we have ever stayed. Excellent views, very spacious, kitchen was very well equipped and supplied with a lot more than just the essentials. The whole property was very well appointed and clean. David and Gillian were very friendly and always there if needed, but not 'always there' as some hosts are wont to be on occasion. All in all we had a perfect stay and would not hesitate to book again.
Lovely spacious property, indoors and outside, which was perfect for three couples to get together but which had the room to be 'separate'.
A really well equipped home from home.
We had the loveliest stay at this beautiful barn. Very clean, peaceful and quiet surroundings and very comfortable beds. We were staying with small children (ages 2 and 6 months) and my parents. Very family and child friendly with lots of space and a nice garden with a Wendy house which my daughter loved. David and Gillian were really welcoming, quick to respond to all questions before our visit and provided everything you could need and more for a few nights away. We hope to be back next year!
This beautiful barn is well equipped to a high standard and is set in a perfect location to visit Oxford, Bath & the Cotswolds. The owners Gillian and David are very welcoming and available if required. We would certainly highly recommend a stay here to our friends and family.

Beautiful Barn, quiet, lovely view, excellent for a quiet getaway.
One downside, needing car to access footpaths.

There are 3 footpaths within 100 mtrs of the end of the drive, admittedly they are not easily found, as is normally the case the land owners let the signage and access go, which can make it tricky but not impossible to navigate.
We stayed at The Barn for a week. The Barn is spacious, well equipped, clean and very peaceful.
The owners are very friendly & not intrusive. Myself, wife and two children all enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely recommend. The garden is great, secluded and great views. We used the decking and garden furniture regularly.
Only possible gripe if I had to, was the WiFi is not what we are used to, very slow. Not for Netflix addicts 🤣😅🤣
Suited me but not my teenage daughter.
Thanks to the owners
Regards Phil.

Charming cottage with breathtaking views to rolling countryside!!
We stayed in October 2018, 4 adults and 2 children. We were greeted by the owners and shown around, the barn is simply furnished and elegantly decorated, giving you everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The owners were warm and accommodating and went the extra mile (like getting the children a skewer and cotton for conkers!!) overall, fab! Highly recommend it! Bibury and Lechlade on Thames are a must visit!

A beautiful cozy house that is equipped with all comforts
The spacious house is in a rural location with lots of privacy. The interior is as good as new and has a nice atmosphere. The beds are excellent. The bathroom is new. In the spacious kitchen you will find all the equipment and crockery you need to prepare a good meal. Behind the house you will find a new spacious veranda with views over the countryside. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
Overall a must and we are definitely planning to go here again!
Greetings Sake, Folkje and Jan from the Netherlands
