The Beach Bux cottage has easy access to the beach and is situated one lot back. For a fishing trip or a small family, Beachbux is ideal. Your family would love the cozy and well-equipped Beach Bux as a vacation spot. All guests must bring Paper goods, towels, and linens. Beachbux is furnished and decorated according to the owner's preferences. The following are provided: coffee maker, microwave, toaster, pots and pans, dishes, silverware, glasses, mattress pads, pillows, and blankets or comforters. Additional Fees apply for reservations, partial stays, taxes, and insurance.
In case of cancellation or change in any reservation, no refund will be made by Dolphin Realty or the owners we represent unless the unit is re-rented and confirmed by the newer reservation for the cancelled period. All cancellations and changes are subject to a $75.00 charge, reservation fee; Trip Cancellation and Travel Insurance premium, Property Protection and Credit Card Processing Fee if applicable. Please notify our office of any changes as soon as possible. No refunds will be issued due to lack of fish or inclement weather. The offered Trip Cancellation and Travel Insurance covers many unforeseen and emergency situations.

The location is fantastic, especially for the price. It was nice to be able to walk out the front door and be at the beach. It also sleeps plenty of people for the size of the house which is nice for a larger family. That being said, there are definitely a few maintenance issues that could be squared away.

In desperare need of Updates

We arrived just a couple of days after the road had opened up to Frisco after Hurricane Dorian had passed through. We had begged the Dolphin Realty to refund us so they could have more time to make sure everything was ok and have time to clean the property properly. We were yelled at and received a flat out refusal. When we pulled onto the property, there were bags of garbage under the deck and trash everywhere. I immediately called to let them know and was told... and I quote... "Not today, but maybe tomorrow they would come clean it up"... tomorrow never happened and when we left, there was STILL trash everywhere. The house had NOT been cleaned. There were dirty footprints in the shower, dirty dishes in the cabinets, biting flies coming out of the sink, stuff just thrown in the closets and sand everywhere!! I understand that a hurricane had just hit, but can't you at least sweep the sand off the deck and front door?? The mosquitos were insatiable and would attack as soon as you stepped outside! (PSA- Dont visit the OBX without bug spray!!!) Upon checkout, we were expected to clean the house. So, we had the task of cleaning dishes that were left from previous renters. Many, many updates are desperately needed. Toilets wont flush properly, shower heads need to be replaced, washing machine sounds like it will fall apart at any moment, furniture is terrible and extremely dated. We were very unhappy with the overall experience with Dolphin Realty and this house. Needless to say... We will never use this company or stay in this house again.

Misty, All of the employees at Dolphin Realty strive to put our guests first, to make each and every guest feel like family. I am concerned by the assertions regarding staff yelling at anyone. I would note you may have misinterpreted the need for us to speak louder due to telephone issues post-Hurricane Dorian as Hatteras Island tried to get communications back up and running. I assure you, no one on this staff would ever speak to a guest in a manner you described, so I apologize for any phone issues that may have given you that impression. I'm sorry, and will talk to our maintenance staff, to let them know that a week after Hurricane Dorian, they didn't have all the garbage cleaned to the level you expected upon arrival. You are correct, we do at times have mosquitoes on the Outer Banks, especially after a heavy rain or in this case a hurricane. Bug spray is a great tip for other renters, so thank you for leaving that tip! Most importantly I want to again, as I did on the phone to you and Bryan, remind you, your reservation was through VRBO. You did not have travel insurance with us, or have a direct booking through our office. Because of that you did need to go through VRBO to file a claim on the policy you purchased through them. We also did explain in three separate emails between September 8th and 10th how this process would work if you chose not to travel once Dare County lifted the mandatory evacuation to the area. We are limited on what we can do with reservations made through our partner sites, like VRBO. As for cleaning up at check-out, we do ask our guests to do a light cleaning, I apologize if you didn't see that in the guest license agreement we sent to you twice after you booked on August 28th, ten days before the Hurricane hit Hatteras. We regret that you didn’t enjoy your time here with us at the beach. Dolphin Realty also realizes that immediately following a storm is less than an ideal time to visit the beach, so we hope you’ll reconsider coming back to stay with us sometime. Our management will be reaching out directly to you in order to further address your concerns and thank you again for the feedback!
