Winter Driving Many highways, access roads and/or driveways are steep in Tahoe/Truckee and may be icy in the winter. To ensure your safety, it is critical that during November 1st - April 30th brakes, windshield wipers, defroster, heater and exhaust system are in top condition. Tires need to be properly inflated and the tread must be in excellent condition. Always carry tire chains, even if driving an AWD/4WD vehicle. Make sure the chains are the proper size for your tires and are in working order. You may find valuable winter driving tips from the CHP here: https://bit.ly/3IKiY7n
Summer Patio Furniture Patio furniture is available for your use during summer months only. All outdoor tables, chairs and loungers are put into storage in the fall, in order to protect the furnishings from winter weather. Barbecue grills, however, do remain outside for your enjoyment.
Black bears are very common in this area and have become habituated to human food and garbage. Because bears no longer have a strong fear of humans, you may encounter bears during your spring, summer and fall stays. Feeding bears is illegal. Leaving food outside, trash accessible, or doors and windows unlocked is likely to cause significant property damage to homes and to vehicles. Please take a moment to learn how to be Bear Aware, so that we can continue to live in harmony with our wildlife.

Thank you Emily! We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay. Thank you again for staying with us, you were a pleasure to host!
We loved staying at Black Bear cottage. The house was stocked with all the amenities and was cozy and clean. The best part was the big yard and lake access which was perfect for our little kids. The large garage was great for storing our gear and the apartment above it was a nice extra sleeping space. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back!

Thank you so much for staying with us and taking such wonderful care of the house Izzy! We are thrilled to hear your family had such a great stay, that yard is perfect for the kids! We would love to welcome you back anytime!
Right on the lake - the views were spectacular. Very clean though main house was a little dated. A little confusing in that some of the rooms pictured were separate from main house above garage. These were newer and in great condition. Beds and bedding were top of the line . Plenty of kitchen ware and all appliances worked perfectly. Outside furniture a bit worn out. Biggest problem was fireplace which we needed even in May. Smoked up the whole house. Mgmt came twice but was unable to fix. All in all a nice stay in spite of that as the outside setting and view made up for some of the indoor shortcomings.
Our family wanted to visit Lake Tahoe and stay somewhere where we didn’t have to go anywhere else if we didn’t want to. This location was amazing! From the split living areas to the back porch sunrise views to the private beach access for paddle boarding to the well-appointed kitchen, this place had everything we were looking for.
This has to be the nicest place we've ever stayed in Lake Tahoe. The view from the dining room and couch is breathtaking. It was nice to have a separate living area above the garage for guests. It might sound weird but the couch and chairs were actually really comfortable and just added to the beautiful view out the window. There was a really nice walkway along the beach right outside the property which was so nice to walk.
Would recommend this place to anyone! A little bit on the pricy side for us, but once we saw the view, it made sense :)
I can not express how satisfied I was with this cabin! This home was CLEAN and I mean very clean! I am very detailed oriented, and every detail on this home was perfect! Nice furniture to lounge in, nice bedding to sleep, nice everything! The views were of course the very best part :) We'll be back in the summer for sure!
