This home was the perfect spot for my family and my best friend’s family from Wisconsin to meet up and have a family vacay. Home was clean and open. Beds we comfortable. We loved the front porch and how close the private beach was. It was a perfect getaway with young kids.
What a great weekend place to stay in Union Pier. So close to the beach and relaxing neighborhood. Our group of couples really enjoyed the house and backyard fire pit!

Great for family getaway
We loved our stay! Plenty of room for two families. The porch and yard are nice and the location is perfect! We did miss having a dishwasher since we had a big group, but other than that everything was great!
The house was amazing and the walk to the beach wasn't bad at all. The entrance to the beach was actually tough to see the first time but it was wonderful once you get there! Overall we had such a great weekend!
This is a beautiful property in a great location. We enjoyed our stay very much. An additional shower, preferably a walk-in would be a plus. Would definitely consider renting again in the future.
We had a great time - loved how close we were to the beach. Only thing that could make it better?? Maybe a picnic table outside. Thanks for a great stay!
We had a great stay! 5min walk to an amazing beach. House was wonderful, loved the open living room/kitchen. We also enjoyed playing games on the screened porch every night. Few things to be aware of…no dishwasher, only 1 shower (3 bathrooms) and could use more outside lighting but those are minor things. Great place!!
Had a great stay at this lovely home in the beautiful woods of Michigan. We had a busy schedule due to the wedding activities but still got to enjoy the beach and walking in that great neighborhood. Will have to come back when we have time to really explore. It's a beautiful part of the country that we had never been to before!
My family and I really enjoyed staying in this house! The pictures really didn’t do it justice, as it seems much more spacious than it even looked. We loved the large front screened in porch area - it’s extremely spacious. It’s a short distance to the private beach (plus) and bakery/grocery store. There is also a small private neighborhood park across the street that our daughter loved to play in! We would 100% recommend this property!!!
Great location. Short walk to a beautiful beach. House was nice. This was our second year back for girls trip. Was not able to get ahold of owner through this app. Only a phone call. Not a big deal but sent a few messages through app and no response.
We rented the same cottage for eleven years and this year they retired. We were apprehensive about the change. However, loved our new home for the week.
My daughter and I enjoyed out our morning. coffee on the screened porch and ended each day in the comfy nook where we enjoed a

Lovely home
We stayed for a long weekend with kids and in-laws and had a great time. Open concept main room is great for get-togethers and large screened-in porch really fun for the kids and morning coffee. The walk down the gravel road to the beach is pretty short but may be a little tough if you bring a ton of stuff and small kids.. Luckily the homeowners let you use their big wagon, making the trip with kids a fun little walk. Everyone loved the outdoor shower (with hot/cold adjustments) and smores in the backyard fire pit. Rooms simple with clean/nice furniture. Only suggestion would be to make sure you bring a beach umbrella, as we couldn't find one in the house. Overall had an amazing time and would love to come back next year!

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Great location, lacking in cleanliness
The good: Location, layout, fire pit, porch, and outdoor shower. Owner let us arrive 30 minutes before check-in which was really nice. The beach is beautiful and the proximity to multiple great restaurants is key!
The not as good: The home was dirty. Floors were dirty when we got there from pre-existing sand/dirt. There was a dead fly in one bed (master), and on the blanket of another (upstairs full bed). There is only one shower (inside), though there are 3 bathrooms. Zero extra sheets that we could find (we brought a blow up mattress for a 3-yr-old) and the 2 blankets we found in linen closets had not been laundered in a very long time. Very few things to cook with (I.e. a strainer). Mostly small things but when packaged together at this price...We are bummed bc we were hoping this would be a yearly destination!
Interesting Interior Architecture Cottage Near Lake Michigan
My husband and I were able to relax and rejuvenate in this nice cottage. It's a nicely-updated space with lots of room to spread out.
Nice cottage with great interior architecture. Roomy with lots of ambient lighting options. Bathrooms are nice and big with adequate fans to keep things dry in-between showers and usage. Fireplace in main room is especially nice.
Pros: Comfortable Bed (Master)
Soft Sheets
Two Fireplaces
Vaulted Ceilings in Main Space
Lots of Lighting Options
Clean and Modern Appliances
Jetted Tub
Nice, large TV for the living space
Plentiful beach equipment
Cons: Not enough towels. washcloths; no beach towels
Only two pillows for each bed.
Kitchen is lightly stocked and not adequate if you're going to be preparing most of your own meals on site.
No books, puzzles, or magazines present in the cottage
No instructions of any kind with the exception of the WIFI code (not everyone has cell phones to utlilize the VRBO app)
Furniture placement is awkward and uncomfortable in main room
I recommend this cottage and would stay there again. Thank you!

Wonderful location just a few blocks from the beach! The house is spacious and great for our family. Only con- we visited in late summer and the landscaping was very overgrown. There was a lot of sharp plants and poison ivy- made me very nervous when my kids were outside playing.
We liked the house a lot. It is spacious, beds are comfortable. We appreciated a private beach which is a short walking distance from the house. Love the lake, best swimming in the world!!! The only negative was not having a shower in the master bedroom. Also there is no picnic table outside and the area around the grill is really small for eating outside. Otherwise we had a great time! Love Union Pier!
We stayed as part of a family reunion. Loved our visit. The house is a five minute walk from the private beach, which during our stay was never crowded. They provided a cart to get your stuff to the beach and some beach chairs. The house has a really big great room plus screened in porch.Only thing to be aware of is, of the three baths, only one has a shower. One is a half bath. The other has a tub only. Could be an issue if you have six adults in your group that all take long showers.
This location was perfect for our family gathering.
We did over sleep because the beds are so comfortable, but this allowed us to stay up late enjoying everyone's company in the great room.
We will be back next year!
My family of 4 had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home just 2 blocks from Lake Michigan! The house was spotless and communication was great. Definitely recommend!

Live and work in Chicago; I found this area to be the perfect getaway. One hour drive from downtown made it quick and easy for me to get to my front door!
Why they chose this property
When I bought this property it was perfect for remodeling by being on a corner double lot. I added a second story, and enlarged and enclosed the porch. It was a great decision which added so much room included a very spacious great room.
What makes this property unique
Easy accessibility to the beach, park (across the road), only 100 feet away from asphalt for bike riders.
