Just what we were looking for.
Just what we were looking for. A quiet getaway in the Yorkshire dales with all the comforts of home. We were made very welcome, and there was a homemade cake there to greet us.
We would have no hesitation in rebooking.

The cottage totally lived up to our expectation from other reviews and photos.
The cottage totally lived up to our expectation from other reviews and photos. It was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need to make our stay comfortable and easy. The views from every window are breath-taking. We enjoyed walks from the cottage in and around the village and it is ideally placed to further explore the National Park. Abigail has created a perfect retreat with a warm welcome. We definitely hope to return.

We had a wonderful stay at Topham Laithe.
We had a wonderful stay at Topham Laithe. Everything was supplied that we needed and the property was clean and furnished beautifully. Our hosts were very welcoming, even leaving us a lovely cake, milk and teabags. There were even dog towels supplied for muddy pooches. The nearest shop is 3 miles away but we were aware of that before we booked so it wasn’t a problem. After lovely long days walking and enjoying the stunning Dales we were more than happy to have cosy nights in. Can definitely recommend.

Beautiful cottage, lovely setting and a great base from which to explore the Dales.
Beautiful cottage, lovely setting and a great base from which to explore the Dales.
Although dogs are welcomed here, even if you're not a dog person you'd never know any have visited were it not for the guestbook signed on behalf of some of them; spotlessly clean and no signs (besides the doggy towels in the entrance hall) of any pooches having preceded you.
Scores of 9 are down to a lack of 2-pin plug shaving or electric toothbrushes, otherwise everything you're likely to need is present. Limited TV channels but that's not really why you visit the Dales!
The other 9 for local amenities is down to location - plenty of choice of pubs but everything else is a car trip away realistically. Again, not a huge issue, and likely to be similar anywhere in the Dales, but the nearest shops of any kind are 3 miles away in Grassington. Nearest supermarket 12+ miles away in Skipton.
Would definitely recommend Topham's Laithe, but do be aware of the above. If those aren't a problem for you, then there's no reason I can think of not to stay.

Pretty much faultless.
Pretty much faultless. On entering you immediately feel the cosiness of the place. Excellent base for exploring Wharfedale and beyond. Very dog friendly - even a paddock for exercise (if sheep not using!). Fully equipped, walks straight out of the door. Highly recommended. Snowfall whilst we were there - made our visit even more enjoyable! See photo...
