About the host
Hosted by Susan McLoughlin

I (Martin) grew up lower down the Wharfe valley but moved south to study, met Sue and settled for over 30 years to work and raise our family. We bought the cottage in 2012, primarily as a place to stay when visiting relatives in the area but with the intention also to let the cottage out for holidays. Having moved to Yorkshire in 2016 we are now able to do odd jobs, enjoy the cottage/area more frequently and chat with the neighbours.
Why they chose this property
We had holidayed for years in the area with our children and as a child I (Martin), camped many times in upper Wharfedale with my family, so we knew the area very well. It was the ideal property in the ideal place, with a great local pub, walking from the door and beautiful surroundings.
As soon as we saw the cottage, we fell in love with it. And when we walked through the front door it just wowed us!

What makes this property unique
The wonderful views, character, peaceful but not isolated location made the cottage so appealing. It is a lovely place and we were very lucky to find it.
