There is a traditional butcher on the village green and two local vineyards to enjoy. For those interested in fishing, within 5 miles there are fishing lakes featuring carp, tench and perch. A value base for couples, Hartest is an easy drive from the Suffolk Heritage Coast and Constable Country. It is equidistant between the market towns of Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury, close to Lavenham, Long Melford and Ickworth. Good walks abound directly from the property.
