The village of Windermere is just 1 mile away, while Ambleside, Coniston and Grasmere are all with easy reach. Or why not take the car ferry that still crosses the lake between Ferry Nab and Ferry House, and provides a convenient approach to the western side of the lake for access to the villages of Hawkshead and Sawrey.
