We found the accommodation.
We found the accommodation.very comfortable and well equipped. It is easy to join the coastal path to Bamburgh, starts just outside of Waren Mill. We found it was a good base for visiting other parts of the Northumberland coast. The only problems we experienced was having difficult opening external door with the key at times and the poor WiFi. We could not connect our iPads and there was no signal for our mobiles either.

Great apartment in a fantastic location just a few miles from Bamburgh & Seahouses.
Great apartment in a fantastic location just a few miles from Bamburgh & Seahouses. Perfectly clean on arrival and very well equipped, nice shared garden with picnic tables and the private garden hut by the waterside was a bonus.(Note: on arrival do not turn into the entrance for the Maltings, follow the road round to the entrance for Waren Lea Hall and then follow the drive down to the back of the Maltings as the key box is at the back and you can’t get to it from the front entrance.)
5 mins down the road and you're at bamburgh castle what could be better and the bamburgh sands the kids loved it. Apartment was well equipped and had a lovely view of lindisfarne, seatees weren't very comfy could probably do with replacing, beds were OK. Bit noisy from the lift that could be heard from the single bedroom but all in all had a great week
The property was very nice and comfortable. Slight problem with check in as there's 2 sides to the building and both with parking. Go to the wrong side and there's no key and no obvious way to get to the other side where the key is. Maybe let people know the key is on the waterside of the property would be good. Had a leaking kettle but quickly replaced. Storage heater in the front room with no instructions so couldn't use. Dish washer had no instructions either. Not bad things but simple things that could be sorted out. Shower in bath was not good and didn't really work very well. We would go again as lots of places are not perfect and we got on with it.
The information as to how to access this property is wrong and when you have solved your own puzzle as to which is the correct key safe you find that the keys do not work, either to the outer door or the actual apartment door. The first listed contact for assistance is the housekeeper, she left 2 years ago apparently and the number given doesn’t connect. Thankfully ‘Original Cottages’ who actually manage the property did answer and once I had convinced them that I was the customer (their records showed owner rental rather than my name, so initially they were unwilling to tell me anything) they were helpful. They sent a lady out, she couldn’t get in either until she came back again having collected the spare keys from the office. So, it took an hour and a half from arrival to actually gaining access , each time we went out afterwards we dreaded returning and dealing with the temperamental locks.
However, other than the very uncomfortable sofas, one ring if the job not working, nor the large en-suite shower head, the stay was lovely.
The garden room is lovely (it’s number 6 by the way, nothing in the arrival instructions tells you this). There is no direct access to the beach from the property. The apartment is quiet, clean and in a good location. No shops anywhere near, so make sure you take all your provisions with you.
The faulty locks appear to have been an issue to lots of guests since 2017, according to the in house comment sheets! Not good enough that the start of everyone’s holiday is spoilt by this issue.

Lovely, well appointed, comfortable, ground floor apartment in an old mill.
Lovely, well appointed, comfortable, ground floor apartment in an old mill. Overlooking Budle Bay. Nicely furnished and very clean. Might be a squeeze with 5 adults which is the number of beds but more than enough space for me and my husband. We didn’t find much in the immediate vicinity in the way of shops or pubs but everything you need can be found in Bamburgh or Seahouses just a short drive away. There is an hotel opposite but it is currently closed. We walked on the beach every day and enjoyed sitting in the jetty cottage watching the birds. Would definitely return.

After a slight 'escape room' type entry to the property we were pleasantly surprised with our accommodation. Having read previous reviews which had mentioned lack of glasses and kitchen equipment we found The Maltings well equipped and a perfect place to stay for a few days in Northumberland. Straight onto the beach for a walk to Bamburgh and central to hop in the car for a drive elsewhere. Jetty Cottage was great little place to eat and enjoy an evening drink in the sunset!

A lovely apartment in a fabulous location.
A lovely apartment in a fabulous location. We had plenty of room for the 3 of us and had everything we needed for the length of time we stayed there.
The only downside was the difficulty in getting into building.
We eventually found the entrance to where the entry codes were ( now is this classed as the back or the front-who knows, we had never been here before!)
We were really stumped at the ambiguous instructions as to how to gain entry
Thankfully one of the property managers just happened to be there and helped us. Question, why mention on the entry instructions about the key for the jetty cottage, when infact the key for the jetty cottage is in another box, inside the apartment itself???
The actual key to get into the building was "dodgy". Sometimes it worked first time, sometimes not. One time we were stuck outside for half an hour trying to get in.
Looking at the comments in the guest book this seems to be an ongoing problem for everyone. This really needs to be sorted ASAP!
Would love to stay there again at some point. ,Hope that you take on board the comments that the guests have said about the entry problems so the score could be 10 for everything.

It seems this has been a problem for a while.

We did really like this house.
We did really like this house. The bedrooms were super comfy; the open plan living/kitchen was a great place to chill; and the bathrooms were really clean. The only thing that let this property down was the lack of 'useful stuff'. There was no washing up liquid, cloths, dishwasher tablets, soaps etc. There weren't even any wine glasses! For a short stay, these are not the sorts of thing you want to buy. However we would have brought them from home if we knew they weren't provided. It was also really difficult to get into the apartment. You need THREE CODES in total. They only emailed us with TWO. Know this before you get there as the signal isn't the best. Nice apartment, but not a very personal touch.
