Drummuie House is a beautiful, 200-year-old, detached stone house situated in its own 1-acre grounds in an elevated position and commanding superb views across the sea. This large and elegant house was built by Captain Robert Sutherland, a Napoleonic war veteran. It has been painstakingly restored and renovated and provides a high level of luxury in a superb setting. All the rooms are generously proportioned, with high ceilings and large original windows. The Highland Wildcat Trail, a mountain bike trail which features the longest descent in the UK from the summit of Ben Bhraggie and the longest technical single track climb is located behind the property.
All the bedrooms are on the first floor. The two main double rooms are particularly sumptuous: one has a four-poster bed and the other a sleigh bed, both en-suite. With three further bedrooms and two bathrooms, Drummuie House is ideal for larger families and groups. The spacious and mature gardens are fully enclosed and ideal for children and pets. The holiday property is situated on the edge of Golspie, and is just a short walk from all the amenities this seaside resort has to offer, including a beautiful sandy beach and scenic walks. There is a variety of small shops, pubs and restaurants. Tennis, bowling and a public swimming pool are also available. It is within close proximity of many golf courses including the Royal Dornoch Championship Course. Drummuie House was absolutely superb, no expense has been spared with the fixtures and fittings.
Drummuie House was absolutely superb, no expense has been spared with the fixtures and fittings. The house was extremely well equipped and we found everything we needed in the local area. Credit has to go to the housekeeper for keeping such a large house spotlessly clean. The garden was superb and totally enclosed which was perfect for our two dogs. We didn't want to leave and we're already planning our next visit. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

An absolutely beautiful house that we were sad to leave.
An absolutely beautiful house that we were sad to leave. It has a quirky layout that we all loved. The kitchen has every utensil and appliance you could ever need. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch. The pool table was used every single day, I love that there were actually enough chairs in living room and dining room for the amount of people - this is often an issue at big places. The kids loved running around the garden, great place for hide and seek! Everything was superb and we are already trying to squeeze in another trip at some point. Drummuie house has a fantastic warm and friendly feel about it. The kitchen has everything you will ever expect from children utensils to fancy entertaining equipment. The size and space of the house is amazing and the garden has lots of sitting areas. Once you have stayed at the house you realise how it is always fully booked. We spent one week at Drummuie to celebrate a 60th Birthday in late November early December 2019.
We spent one week at Drummuie to celebrate a 60th Birthday in late November early December 2019. The house is spacious, with well equipped kitchen, good hot water supply and comfortable beds. It is well located for walking - setting off from the house up Ben Bhraggie or into Golspie to do the coastal walk to Brora. We enjoyed walks every day and with the right clothing rain didn't matter. I would stay here again. One comment about the fire in the living room - arriving on a Saturday in Winter it would be good to have more than one fire's worth of logs supplied or at least the facility to make sure a paid for supply available at the house.
