My family had the most wonderful, relaxing and fun week staying at Carsaig, it was exactly what we needed! The house is perfect and has the instant wow factor, it was so exciting looking round the house and the grounds when we arrived. The views are magnificant and the location is the best we have ever stayed at. Our two teenage kids were very impressed and said we had 'done good' so that is compliment enough. It was fantastic to have so much space to be together but also apart when it suited. We all loved our bedrooms with ensuites, the kitchen is a lovely big family space to cook & eat together with the most amazing views, the lounge is so relaxing, spacious & cosy (we had the fire on every evening), and the various entrance doors made coming & going very easy. The outside space is very impressive, we couldn't believe how big the garden is with it's own wee wood, beach by the loch, jetty and the extensive grass area. Our dog was in seventh heaven trotting about outside and it made evening walks in the dark very easy (with a torch). The garden is very well enclosed, it's not totally secure for a dog (gap under the front gate and at side of fencing next to restaurant) but our dog doesn't wander far from us so it wasn't an issue. Having our own jetty on the loch and our private access to the loch edge was very special. We spent a lot of time at the house relaxing and enjoying the space, the hot tub was such a great way to relax & have fun together daytime or night-time! We also greatly enjoyed the covered outdoor space with the log-burner, perfect for toasting marshmallows and really cosy. The location of the house is perfect for popping to Callandar for food supplies and takeaways (the chipper and Chinese are especially good!). Sadly the restaurant nextdoor was closed due to COVID restrictions but it would be so handy just to pop to when it is open. The house-manager Isla was so helpful before and during our stay, answering any queries and popping over if needed. The week allowed us to totally switch off from the problems of current life and gave us the quality time we needed with each other. We were very sad to have to leave Carsaig at the end of our week but felt fully refreshed and ready to return to reality. We would be delighted to return in the future, it was perfect!
