Couples and family bookings only, sorry no stag or hen parties.. Located on the popular White Cross Bay Holiday Park, Bielby Lodge is a 2-bedroomed timber lodge offering the perfect retreat for anyone looking to enjoy the advantage of a lakeside holiday park setting with on-site leisure facilities (available at cost), including an indoor swimming pool, gymnasium, children’s play area, bar, restaurant and evening entertainment for all the family.
Comfortably furnished, this double glazed and gas centrally heated lodge enjoys a light and airy feel throughout, with a well laid out open-plan living space. It also has the added benefit of a bath so you can choose to soak away the day either indoors or out under the stars, with a hot tub that is discreetly tucked away in amongst the trees. Either way, you are guaranteed to find the perfect end to a busy day of exploring, hiking, cycling, sailing, shopping or a combination of all these activities which are on offer nearby.
For guests who prefer to stay on-site, a short stroll takes you to the shore of Lake Windermere. Whatever the time of year, the views from the lake side are simply breathtaking, and a picnic on the shore is a delightful way to relax. Take the time to watch the boats and steamers pass by whilst soaking up the views of this iconic lake and the incredible scenery of the distant fells beyond.
Also arranged for guests to this lodge is a prioritised arrival time and an extended departure time. Bielby Lodge will always be ready for guests to enter by 2pm on arrival day and the departure time is extended to 10am.
Geographically, Bielby Lodge is unbelievably well-placed for guests to make the most of this fabulous area of Cumbria and provides an exceptional base from which to travel out to enjoy a wide variety of activities and beauty spots. Head just a couple of miles out to the delightful village of Troutbeck Bridge, a pretty traditional Lakeland village, where the scenery changes dramatically to reveal a more rugged and natural landscape. Those brave enough can enjoy the 1500 foot high route over the Kirkstone Pass to Ullswater (getting there via ’The Struggle’, routed out of Ambleside, is even more exciting!). The views are well worth the drive as you descend from the summit or maybe from a seat outside the Famous Kirkstone Pass Inn.
Also close by are Ambleside, Windermere and Bowness, all of which offer visitors a delightful selection of independent retailers, pavement cafés, restaurants and traditional pubs in iconic lakeside settings. Travelling further afield to Coniston, Grasmere, Keswick, Glenridding and/or the coast are also highly recommended as all offer stunning scenery both en-route and in their own surroundings. Shop, pub and restaurant on-site.
