Escape to this exquisite location surrounded by spectacular scenery with lochs, mountains and waterfalls in the heart of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, at the edge of Ben Lawer’s Nature Reserve.

Acharn Lodges are set in 30-acres to explore and enjoy, perfect for families, friends, couples and single guests. There are three detached lodges, Maple (UK5501), Alder (UK5502) and Larch (UK31134) which are all on one level.

There is so much for guests to enjoy on the estate. Have a game of tennis or basketball on the court, and the children’s playground has a picnic table where adults can relax and keep an eye on the kids. If you are an experienced fisherman, there are three trout ponds where fly fishing with barbless hooks can be enjoyed on a catch and release basis.

There are lovely walks from your doorstep, pack a picnic and stop at one of the picnic benches around the ponds and estate where you can relax and make the most of the spectacular scenery. There is an abundance of wildlife to spot, have your camera at the ready to snap red squirrels, deer, pine martens and so many wild birds including ospreys. In the winter, the hills are perfect for sledging or skiing on gentle slopes, and spring and summer brings longer evenings to enjoy the wild birds and flowers, and with very little light pollution, enjoy the stars in the night sky.

The attractive Highland village of Killin is within walking distance along a quiet pathway which is also a cycle track, where you will find bars, cafés, bistros, restaurants, shops, a 9-hole golf course and the spectacular famous Falls Of Dochart. Killin plays host to events throughout the year including the Highland games and a fireworks display on New Year’s Eve.

This part of Scotland is steeped in history and legend. Acharn was once owned by the McNab clan during which time a beheading took place in the main house and our resident ghost has been spotted by guests numerous times during the winter months. There are many other historic sites and buildings to visit close by including Finlarig Castle. If you enjoy the great outdoors this area provides walking, cycling and hill walking. Various water sports can be enjoyed on Loch Tay, with kayaking and white water rafting nearby, Highland safaris, or sample the ’water of life’ at a whisky distillery. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

These properties can be booking together to accommodate larger groups.

We were seeking a comfortable, dog friendly, quiet location in the beautiful countryside for a few nights away with our springer. All of our aims were surpassed and thank Caroline and Chris for their kind hospitality and friendly welcome.

Overall great holiday , particularly location.

Overall great holiday , particularly location. Acharn Lodges are not well marked from main road so need to keep sharp eye out ( or use sat nav). We were a bit surprised in post covid times that there was no welcome pack ( or pint of milk even) & no visitor book from which we usually pick up recommendations/ wet day ideas. Recommend you bring an iPad or lap top as Free Sat tv very unreliable as soon as it rains! Wi fi is better. Your back garden is a selection of lovely fishing pools . Red squirrels spotted from the front door , a red deer bounded across access road. We enjoyed leaving car behind & walking the old railway line behind the lodge into Killin & into the forestry land. HighlandSafaris within easy reach at Dull near Aberfeldy. Lodge well equipped & help close at hand. We would stay again.

Amazing lodge and location

Perfect retreat for our holiday, the lodge was well equipped and very clean on arrival. The hosts were always on hand to answer any questions we had. The local village was a lovely evening retreat to sample food and a few drinks. A very relaxing stay.
