About this property

Wella 5* Gold Rated Luxury Cottage

A luxury Visit England 5* Gold Rated holiday cottage with two beautiful bedrooms, one double and one twin which can be linked to make a double. Both offer individual en-suites; one with a large walk-in shower, the other with a large bath big enough for two, each fitted with TVs.
The open-plan living/dining room boasts beautiful oak beams and luxurious fittings throughout. The fully equipped kitchen extends to a family dining area. A complimentary welcome pack is provided for your enjoyment.
The Digey is one of the most iconic streets in St Ives’ Downalong district. The narrow cobbled street connects Fore Street, near the harbour with Back Road West near Porthmeor beach on the other side of the isthmus.
It is not certain where the name ‘Digey’ comes from but one theory is it comes from dye-chy meaning dye house, where the boat sails were dyed.

I grew up in the North East in a small mining community near Thornaby (is that right?). The greatest event of the year for myself, my brother and sister was the annual trip to St Ives for our summer holiday, despite the long drive and the constant “Dad are we nearly there yet”, the first view of the beautiful bay as you come into the town never failed to take our breath away and fill us with excitement for the days ahead. Those holidays gave me such fond memories, I wanted to re-create the experience for my son and grandson, so in 2015 I purchased the three cottages which were in a near derelict condition with the vision of creating some wonderful holiday cottages where the magic could be shared not only with friends and family but also our valued guests. Today we still come to St Ives for our Summer holiday and what a joy it is to see my mother and father spending time on the beach with their children, grandchildren and 5 year old great grandson. We hope you enjoy the living spaces we have provided and that you can create some wonderful memories of your own with your friends and families.

Why they chose this property

After many holidays in St Ives over the years it was always our dream to own our own cottage in the Town.
We are now living that dream!
The cottages were purchased in 2015 due to their prime location on the prettiest and most photographed street in St Ives. The properties were in a near derelict condition and sadly in need of lots of tender loving care.

What makes this property unique

The property has been renovated to the highest of standards by local craftsmen who incorporated local timber and slate into the re-build. The interior has been fitted and decorated with the highest quality furnishing and fixtures giving a very luxurious feel in the living spaces. There are unique touches throughout the property which gives it a quirky feel that makes you smile. The property is close to the beach and harbour front and is in an excellent location to enjoy all the local facilities. Wella is luxury living at its finest.
