Hello GUEST
We expect you around 5-6 PM but if this is not correct and you come later , let us know before your arrival. We live next door with our 12 year old who goes to sleep at 8:30 PM , which means we will be upstairs and won't hear any knocking . We live on N.6th Street near the Princess St. intersection and the house is colored pale rose. Your entrance is on the left . Please call us 30 minutes before arrival so that we can arrange to meet you and give you the keys .The Doorknob in front is historic and decorative, please use Metal handle to push door open and be gentle with the old doors.
Now about the place.....You have a functioning kitchen with glasses and cups for all beverages, a coffee machine with filters and grinder plus toaster and a working oven . Recycling and trash pickup is early on Monday morning so we will let you know when we pull all the receptacles to the street . Let us know if you need another bag .Please put all TRASH out on sunday evening
Linens and towels are all there with soap but you will need Shampoo if ours is wrong for you, shower gel and more toilet paper.
The 2 toilets use Eco-Flush so please hold handle 3 seconds when you flush.

You have 2 bedrooms upstairs , both with queen beds plus a sunroom in the back with a doublebed . The Sunroom is accessible through the second bedroom but all the rooms have doors for privacy. There is a Shower and bathroom upstairs. There is also a fully equipped laundryroom. Laundry detergent is ultra concentrated so please fill cap up to line 2 for each load. When using dryer, please put on LOW HEAT, HIGH does not work .Extra blankets and towels . This old house

Visiting our son at UNCW and love to explore different parts of town. This stay was a lot of fun. Great walkability to riverfront for healthy folks. The accommodations aren’t fancy, but if you’re into the history of place vs. pristine condition, you’ll enjoy your stay.

Great location but lots of homeless Downtown

Nice place. Old home with a few quirks but very convenient to Downtown. Homeless problem is pretty bad in Wilmington but the food and riverwalk are still beautiful. Host is very accommodating.

Great place for our family get-together

Everything you could possible need was in the property. It was very clean and spacious. Everyone was friendly. The location, in a quiet residential neighborhood, was very convenient. Parking out front was always available even though our family met in Wilmington and we had 3 cars. Definitely recommended.

Quick getaway

Planned a weekend getaway to see our son in Wilmington. Wanted a place to stay that was convenient and with some character. The CF house was charming, the hosts were friendly and inviting, the location was ideal. Only negative is that parking is on street only and not reserved, meaning you might have to walk up the street a bit to your car. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

Great location. Clean and comfortable. Wonderful host!

This house was perfect for a girl's weekend in Wilmington. Walking distance to downtown and all the great restaurants and shops. Luca was a great host and made sure we had all we needed before, during and after our stay. Only note for guest with dogs, the interior staircase is spiral and likely not usable for larger breeds. However, there is an outdoor staircase off the 2nd bedroom upstairs that can be used to get to the main level.

A historic home in downtown Wilmington

The locations is great, just a short walk to the main strip of downtown with other options even closer to the house. The house was bigger than expected which was great for multiple people to work from the space. There were plenty of places to set up the home office. Wi-Fi signal was good if you are looking to log some work hours while you’re there. Luca was overall very accommodating and I would recommended this spot for anyone looking to work and play in downtown Wilmy.

Unique space

Three friends from work stayed to visit one’s daughter who’s in school in Wilmington! Great historic house. We’ll maintained! Super convenient backyard for kids or just adults hanging out around the fire pit! Only negative is 3rd bed is a futon & not very comfortable. Other 2 rooms are fantastic! Owner is very kind & offered to assist if we had any needs! Would definitely stay again! ❤️

great location and easy access to anywhere in the area.

The house is located in the historic area of Wilmington and you can walk anywhere downtown very easily. Parking is on street parking but free and we never had an issue. Location about 15 minutes to Wrightsville Beach, 20 minutes to Carolina Beach and 35 minutes to TopSail. House has two bedrooms with queen size beds that have good mattress and pillows. Storage for clothes is a little limited and there is no a hair dryer but that is easy to solve. Internet was very functional. Home is in good condition for the age and was very good for our purpose of staying.

We wished to spend some time in the Historical District of Wilmington, with convenient walking access to the Riverfront and the downtown Restaurants and Entertainment. This was it! Our hosts were superb, the neighbors joyfully shared their community and our 159 year old lodging was on point!

About the host

Luca Coletao is a master printmaker from New York City and Amy Howell is a former middle school teacher and translator plus a bookeeper for several clients .We are parents to young Asa Matisse and we both speak , read and write french. We have lived in town since 2014.

Why they chose this property

We absolutely love our neighborhood. Stroll around the streets nearby and admire the beautiful historic homes, such as the Bellamy Mansion which is just around the corner. Walk six blocks to the Riverfront walk and five blocks to the restaurants on Front Streets. We love to eat at Le Bistro Caprice on Market and Water St or PinPoint right on Market between 2nd & Front St.. You'll also find cool places even closer that Amy has listed inside the unit' kitchen . On 4th and Walnut is Flytrap Brewery where there's usually some live music on the weekends and a local food truck. Head south on 6th St., and you land on Castle St. in the heart of the Antiques district. Among the boutiques, you can find Jester's Java for delicious lunch or brunch and Luna Caffe if you just want to take a break and plan your next stop. Also on the south side on 2nd and Orange is the Children's Museum and a few blocks further is Greenfield Lake park, where you can rent paddle boats, canoes and kayaks or just let the kids run around the playground.

What makes this property unique

How many 4000 + sq.foot Historic District homes with a quarter acre backyard can you find in Downtown Wilmington ? Answer : four. Our rarity makes us unique .
