Beautiful getaway in the heart of the Provence region

Splendid villa at walking distance from the historical village of Saumane-de-Vaucluse. The villa is situated in tranquil setting though it is not isolated.
The villa has beautiful panoramic views over the Sorgue valley and is only a few kilometers away from Fontaine-de-Vaucluse (5-10 minutes) and L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (7-10 minutes). 
It is ideally located for hiking, cycling and for tourist day trips to Avignon, Gordes, Menerbes, l'abbaye de Sénanque and many other tourist attractions the Provence has to offer.
With its many spacious rooms which are finished at a great standard and completely newly decorated and furnished, this is the perfect spot for a hassle free, relaxing holiday.
The kitchen with granite worktop is equipped with a wide stove and oven and has all the cooking utensils and devices needed to cook for a large group.
The granite breakfast bar separates the kitchen from the dining area.
There are two big living rooms, two ensuite bedrooms, two bedrooms and a family bathroom in the main house and another en suite bedroom that you can enter via a separate entrance.
In the garden, that once was part of a big olive grove, you will find a couple of interesting "bories", shelters for shepherds dating from the 16th century and a beautiful swimming pool with views over the historic village and the Sorgue valley. There is a jeu de boules course encircled by lavender plants and olive trees. You can relax on one of the many patios who all offer a different view.
There is also a gas barbecue with utensils.
The swimming pool has an automatic cover for your and your children's safety.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful setting.

Three weeks here was certainly beginning to feel like home! Quick and accurate responses from owner and caretakers. Cool place to rest and escape. Great indoor and outdoor spaces. Well located to tour the Luberon, Provence, and southern Rhône. After touring, recuperate with a great view while enjoying the pool.

Beautiful peaceful getaway

We made this trip with 3 generations, teens to 86 years old. We really enjoyed the beautiful house. There is plenty of space to be together in a big group, but also enough spaces and terraces if one prefers some privacy from the others. We loved that 3 of the rooms have en suite baths, and that there is a little downstairs powder room. Sofie, Djamel and Salima were very welcoming and helpful. We had some trouble getting there and it was very late, but they accomdated our needs beautifully. Thank you for the relaxing time.

Provence perfection.

We loved this property in every way. The house is spacious, bright and has everything you need to be at "home". It also has luxuries that the photos don't do justice. The view from the home is magnificient. The pool and pentanque court added fun and relaxation at the end of our day. The covered outdoor table is where we had our evening meals and wine. But, if you are looking for a home close to town or an easy drive, you might want to look elsewhere. We enjoyed being away and just hearing birds and church bells. Sofie and Djamel were great to work with. They made the booking and check in easy. They were available if we needed them, which we didn't because the home is amazing.

Vielen Dank für die wunderbaren Tage in der Provence, vorallem wegen diesem superschönem Haus. Wir waren als Familie zu sechst für 10 Tage hier und genossen die Zeit zusammen. Gerne kommen wir wieder.

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans cette maison au calme à Saumane. Tout est fait pour passé un bon moment. Les chambres sont spacieuses. Petit bémol : le nettoyage était un peu superficiel. La piscine a été nettoyée pendant notre séjour. Une petite amélioration : la climatisation 😊 Merci à Sofie avec qui la communication est rapide et efficace. J’ai déjà recommandé cette location !

Als God in Frankrijk

Prachtige , zeer smaakvol ingerichte villa op wandelafstand van het dorpje ! Heel vlot en aangenaam contact met eigenares , zij reageert heel vlug . Perfecte ligging als uitvalsbasis naar verschillende mooie dorpjes en stadjes en "last but not least" voor de natuurliefhebbers: GR e.a. mooie wandelpaden in onmiddellijke omgeving. En niet te vergeten: het plaatselijk restaurant is een absolute must. Kort samengevat: wij komen heel graag terug!

Everything Provence Should Be

I cannot recommend Saumane de Vaucluse highly enough. Although not so easy to find the first time, once we found it, we were delighted at every turn. The house itself, although wonderfully ancient, is thoroughly remodeled with every amenity. We weren't looking for a pool, but given the unseasonably warm period we were there, it was a welcome feature. As we were nine family members (four different families of siblings), we did a lot of shopping at local markets, and made wonderful meals at home. We had two rental cars, which allowed us to go different directions, or simply stay at home and soak up the ambience. One should note that a car or two really is/are necessary. We had one small plumbing issue which Sofie responded to with general concern. There were so many special little corners where people could read, chat, play games, or just relax. Ten days was surprisingly not enough time. Maybe it requires A Year in Provence.

Proximité avec le voisinage et vis à vis dérangeant et non précisé dans l'annonce. Maison toutefois en très bon état et bien équipée et accueil agréable. Jolie vue. Non dérangeant pour notre groupe mais la maison est repartie sur 4 niveaux. Peut-être contraignant pour des PMR ou enfants...

Une très belle villa dans un cadre exceptionnel !

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine familiale dans cette villa atypique décorée avec beaucoup de goût. La piscine sécurisée est un atout avec de jeunes enfants... nous en avons bien profité ! Il y a de belles visites à faire dans les environs à commencer par l Isle sur la Sorgue située à 5mn de Saumane.

Fantastisch!

Mooie villa, ruim, we waren er met 7 volwassenen en 3 kleine kinderen, waarvan 2 kruipertjes, gelukkig veel houten vloeren waarop kruipen aangenaam is...mooi, rustig gelegen en een leuk zwembad met de goede temperatuur, afkoelend maar niet koud! In de omgeving prachtige stadjes en wandelwegen en Saumane zelf is ook charmant met zijn kasteel (markies de Sade/bezoek waard) Dit huis is echt een aanrader, de ontvangst is ook perfect door de huisbewaarder (in het frans) en de communicatie met de eigenaar (Sofie) uitmuntend. 5 sterren!

Great Property!!!

We rented this house for a week and had a great time. The house is in excellent conditions and very well equipped . The host was available at all times and was extremely helpful. We hope we can visit Provence again and if so, we would definitely rent this house again.

My name is Sofie, I was raised in Belgium, but now live close to London with my husband and two daughters.

Why they chose this property

My husband, our daughters and I fell in love with the Vaucluse region whilst on vacation in the region. After a two year search, we finally found the place we were looking for in Saumane-de-Vaucluse, perfectly located for hike tours and exploring the region. We bought this house in november 2018 and recently totally redecorated and refurnished it.

What makes this property unique

The villa is ideally located, only 8 minutes from the lively Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. The supermarket and the bakery are only 6 minutes away and yet the villa is located in an oasis of calm on the hill on the verge of the beautiful historic village of Saumane-de-Vaucluse. The village has beautiful stone houses, overseen by the 16th century castle. There are many trails for hikers and lots of cycling routes to eg another beautiful village Fontaine de Vaucluse. There is a wonderful organic restaurant with panoramic views at a 5 minutes walk from the house.
