La Casa del Dibujante is an ideal accommodation if you want to enjoy all the flavour and charm of one of the most popular neighbourhoods of Cádiz, the fishing district of La Viña.
In a privileged location, just a minute's walk from La Caleta Beach, and right in the historic centre of Cadiz, you can combine the experience of great beaches with excellent restaurants , bars , theatre, museums, cinemas and a superb 18th century architecture all within a few minutes’ walk.
A charming and bright apartment perfect for two people in a privileged location, a minute walk from the beach of La Caleta. In the heart of Cadiz, this small building on three floors, where currently, on the ground floor, lives a friendly family of fishermen from the neighbourhood of La Viña. While the apartment on the second floor is owned by a couple from Belgium as a second residence. The house, located on the first floor, is a comfortable, bright and practical house, equipped with everything necessary. You have use of beach chairs and a beach umbrella for the beach. You will also find in the apartment a wonderful collection of original drawings by Arturo Redondo.
Although it is located in the lively neighbourhood of Cádiz, the house is quiet, cool in summer and well equipped for the winter months.

One month in Cádiz

Property was clean inside. Helpful information for transport and places to visit was available. The broadband was fast and reliable. The main advantage was the close proximity to the beach and old town. It was good to have some chairs available for use on the beach. A very enjoyable stay.

The perfect location

Two minutes walk to the nicest beach, La Caleta. Two minutes walk to the nearest supermarket. But a perfectly quiet street with no shops or bars and almost no cars. Bus stop and taxi rank round the corner. Ideal.

We stayed for 10 days in September

We stayed for 10 days with 2 persons in the accomodation. It is good situated in the old town of Cadiz, you do not need to move the car to see all POI. The beach is just a minute away and there are a lot of pubs and restaurants near around. But consider, the old town is very loud and as there is not an air condition in the bed room, you probably want to keep the windows open in the night. The door lock is very difficult to close, this is sometimes very annoying. The shower was clean but has very little water pressure and the toilet smells sometimes very unpleasant. We were only at home to sleep and to have a shower, so being close to the beach and all POI´s were more important to us.

Muchas gracias por tu comentario que nos es de gran ayuda para mantener la casa en optimas condiciones. Normalmente el baño no tiene mal olor, pero es posible que si hay un viento de levante, las tuberías de Cádiz huelan. La calle en sí, es muy tranquila pues aun estando en pleno Barrio e la Viña, no tiene ningún bar o comercio. Si es verdad, que los veranos en el sur, son animados y la gente pasea y está en la calle hasta bien entrada la noche. Muchas gracias por vuestra estancia. Saludos

We rented this apartment in Oct25 for 705 based on the photos & reviews on Vrbo. On arrival we saw that the exterior of the flat had a dampness problem (see photo). On entering, the lounge & kitchen looked pleasant, & Irina (the key holder) was very pleasant, informative & kind. However, there was no mention of the significant dampness on the bedroom wall, which we only noticed later. There was a damp, unpleasant smell from the washing machine when we opened it, & a brief wipe inside with a tissue resulted in it being covered in black mould (see photo). That evening we saw that plaster was coming away from the bedroom wall and there was a musty smell in the room & in the wardrobe. On our 3rd night there was the rustling sound of pieces of masonry falling from the bedroom wall; it was not possible to get out of bed without walking on dust and plaster (see photos). My wife felt that the wall was not safe & she couldn’t sleep in the room, so the next day we checked into the QE hotel in Cadiz at a cost of over 300.On reporting this to Irina, she apologised profusely & a few days later we received an apology from the owners, saying that they were aware of the problem & builders were arranged to repair the wall. They also apologised, saying that they did not know it had deteriorated so much.This property should not have been rented out in this state & we received no warning from Vrbo or the owners before our trip. We would not have rented it in this state of repair had we known.

Trevlig lägenhet nära stranden

Småmysig, välutrustat kök. Dåligt vattentryck i duschen. Den utlovade takterrassen var inte tillgänglig och den hade betydelse när vi bestämde oss. Balkongen var den sedvanliga inglasad franska varianten som man inte kunde använda än att hänga tvätt på.

L’appartement était très propre, bien organisė, près de tout à quelques pas, dans un secteur tranquille. Pratiquement aucun auto dans la rue. Près de 2 supermarchés, magasins….Accueil de Irina très chaleureux et elle nous explique tout. Le proprio répond très vite aux courriels et est très gentil. Nous y avons passé 19 jours merveilleux. Cadiz est une ville merveilleuse.

Charming Caleta Beach

We loved the Barrio de la Vina with its mix of old inhabitants and students. The tapas bars, easy strolls to all the sights, the excellent Cadiz museum were all great, but most of all we enjoyed taking the provided umbrella and chairs for the three minute walk to swim in the calm waters of picturesque Caleta beach.

Well appointed apartment close to all amenities in quiet neighborhood.

An ideal apartment for 2 people who like self sufficiency as the apartment has everything you need should you want to take advantage of the amazing local market. Also near many restaurants and bars where you'll mingle with the locals. The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood despite being minutes from shops and bars/restaurants. For beach lovers it is only 2 minutes walk to the nearest blue flag beach. So, ideally placed and very comfortable apartment. Easy check-in also - just a call away. Cadiz has a great vibe - not touristy so you mingle with the locals at a very relaxed pace.

Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und gut eingewiesen. In der Wohnung hat es uns an nichts gefehlt. Lediglich der Dachterrasse würde eine Aufhübschung gut tun. Sitzgelegenheit, Sonnenschutz usw.
