The cabins are in a great situation on both Merrill Brook and Panobscott River. We did a fishing vacation with my nephew and his son and he had a wonderful time.
The property is gorgeous! The owners live close to the cabins and are so kind and considerate! Dianne was so easy to communicate with and took care of everything! They went above and beyond to help us with an unexpected loss of our venue for a family event and thanks to their generous hospitality we were able to still make it work! We also enjoyed an afternoon out on the kayaks provided at the cabins. I would absolutely recommend staying here. Thank you both!Ashley & The Boys
This is our third year coming up here from CT. It just absolutely breathtaking in how beautiful it is. Diane and John are amazing hosts and are there to help and answer any questions. We had a beautiful week to spend outdoors, canoeing, kayaking and fishing. Perfect place to relax and unwind. Thank you for everything. Hoping to come back again next year!
Great location for all things outdoors. Clean, comfy and quiet. John and Diane give you privacy but always ready to assist in any way.
Look forward to staying here again.
Amazing views of the river in this rustic cabin! Our family and friends had a blast canoeing, kayaking, and having a campfire each night! A must stay in northern Maine!
This has been were we have stayed for every Millinocket Marathon since 2017. Love this place! Close enough to Millinocket but just far away enough to relax after our race. It has become a tradition to stay here.
The owners do such a wonderful job making this a charming, quiet getaway. Was a peaceful trip to recharge at as usual. We have now stayed here 3 times. Love it.
We had an amazing time! It was so great to have a place to unwind and unplug from everything. Having access to the canoes and kayaks were such a great bonus. Got to mark some stuff off my bucket list with my family this weekend.
Perfect little get away! Located on Merrill brook where it meets the Penobscot river. Great Ice fishing just a few steps away. Really enjoyable. Cabins have everything for in cabin meals. Saw deer, Eagles and friendly people!
We had a great holiday weekend stay. The cabin was super cute, and easily accessible from I-95. The hosts were great, making us feel very welcome, yet also gave us our privacy. Although we didn’t use them, they had kayaks, canoes, and life jackets available and included in the stay. We took an easy day trip to Baxter State Park, where we saw beautiful scenery and wildlife, including moose. Very relaxing stay.
If you need peace, quiet, and an escape from the hustle bustle...this is our favorite spot for all those things. The owners are ALWAYS there if you need them, yet respect your privacy too. Just stellar for a Holiday tradition...which we have done 3 times now as it just feels right... and refreshing. We WILL be back again for more visits without question! :) Class acts are John and Diane York.
This is a perfect place for fishing, atv riding and/or boating. It was quiet and quaint. Even though it sleeps 6, it was a little tight with 4 of us during the day though as not a lot of room to sit/move. The 1 TV was very old and didn't work. A window, 1 of 2 fans provided and a shade were also broken. Fabulous communication with extremely nice owners, use of canoes and kayaks steps from the door! Amazing fireworks display by owners right outside the door (though the 2 dogs hated it, we loved it!)Tips/tricks/FYI:Bring: Trash bags, paper towels (they gave 1), toilet paper (just in case, though they gave us 3)Gets very hot at times especially in the single bedroom if the door is shut. There is an AC but in the kitchen only and it was a bit musty smelling but worked enough to help. There is no pool as the listing states. There is the lake steps from the cabin though.Private Charcoal grill (charcoals were on porch) and a shared firepit (bring wood).Regular coffee pot (filters provided, bring coffee).Well water (ok to drink, cook with etc.)The above were questions I had or things I look for when looking at booking or reviews so wanted to write it out this way specifically. All in all it's a nice little cabin for the REAL Maine life. It just wasn't enough to personally keep my family entertained without enough space to be comfortable just hanging out, but that's just us!
Perfect location to fish the Penobscot River or hit the ATV trails right from the cabin. Plenty of room to park truck and trailer. The sound of the peepers in the evening was greatly satisfying along with horseshoes and fire pit.
The cabin was a little small for our tastes but the location next to the beautiful river and Brook can't be beat! Diane and John were welcoming. We enjoyed all of the outdoor amenities- kayak, canoe, fishing, fire pit, horseshoes, and basketball. We would consider returning.
