Arrive via a half-mile driveway lined with organic apple trees and friendly deer. This 30-acre farm retreat is just 10 minutes from downtown Gettysburg yet secluded and peaceful, surrounded by wineries, orchards, golf courses, shopping, skiing, antiques, and more.
Sit on your private balcony overlooking the pastures where you’ll see horses, donkeys, Highland cow, pygmy goats, deer, wild turkeys, and other wildlife.

Farm Experience
Guests are welcome to enjoy our rescue animals: horses, donkeys, pygmy goats, barn cats, Highland cow, chickens, ducks, and geese. Children love helping with feeding (treats available for purchase from our son).
Hot Tub (Optional Add-On) can be added up to two days before arrival.
Our 6-person hot tub is available as an add-on. This is by the length of your stay.
2 nights – $150 flat fee
3–5 nights – $200 flat fee
6–8 nights – $250 flat fee
9–11 nights – $300 flat fee
Additional Notes
Dogs welcome ($150 per dog, flat fee). No cats.
Property is professionally cleaned between stays (black light inspections for pet accidents).
As a farm/orchard setting, harmless pests (stink bugs, lantern bugs and, field mice) may occasionally be present despite regular extermination.
Safety: No ATVs or motorbikes permitted.
Cameras: Ring doorbell (front parking area) + exterior camera (driveway).
Checkout procedures required (strip beds, take trash out, put away dishes).
Signed rental agreement required plus ID.
The Big House is on the owners private 30 acres along with the owners's home and two other private rentals.

Start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Must sign rental agreement Must do departure procedures upon check out Take out trash, clean dishes, put furniture back where you found it.
Dinner parties are events if you go over the 14 rule guest count. Provide photo Id and selfie, match the name of the booking guest and Credit C

Perfect country getaway!

Magical Winter Escape

From the goats, donkeys, horses, and the friendliest cat around to the accommodations, we had an incredible stay. The home was more than well appointed. Very clean, and all the extras were a plus. The pool and hot tub were a welcome respite after a day of chasing kids around on skis. Great kitchen to enjoy a family dinner and breakfast. We will definitely be back! Thanks to Elizabeth for being such a great host.

Swimmers Paradise

My family's favor part of this rental was the indoor heated pool. Second runner up are the animals. Quiet and secluded property located close to Getttysburg. Host was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend and would love to stay again.

Amazing House with Fun Farm Animals

We stayed at this lovely house for my son’s wedding. We had 14 people. The place is large and spacious and has absolutely beautiful views. Everyone had fun interacting with the farm animals as well. The owners live on the overall property and are very responsive to questions and requests. Everyone enjoyed the game room and pool. Very close to Gettysburg. We loved that we were able to bring our dogs with us.

Thank you Elizabeth and family for your warm hospitality. From the time of booking until after we left communication was quick and helpful. We felt so welcomed to your beautiful home, thanks for sharing it with us! The views are spectacular, location was easy to find with your clear directions. Thanks to your son Vaughn for the fresh eggs and animal feed that was for purchase. The kids enjoyed feeding the friendly animals, and we can see they are well taken care of! The house had great decor, including brand new stunning wall murals in the living room and pool area! Beds were comfortable, soft towels, tons of amenities throughout the house and property - and thoughtful attention to details. The pool was a real highlight, complete with pool toys and floats! We really appreciate how you go out of your way to make your guests comfortable! Hope to come again soon!

Beautiful Gettysburg Getaway

We stayed at this property for a family retreat. Great spaces, awesome kitchen, and beautiful views. The host was accommodating (especially since we had to move our date twice because of COVID) and check-in was a breeze. Be careful around the indoor pool, it's slippery :)

Senior Recital Gathering

This was our second stay at this property: we loved it so much the first time, we came back for another visit! Did not disappoint, better than we remembered! Elizabeth, the owner, very quickly responded when I had a question. We had some elderly relatives with us, and it worked very well for them. Hope to return for a third visit in the future!

Wonderful Easter Weekend

This was the best weekend for our family! The Big House was perfect for our time together with plenty of room, the pool and the most amazing views. Looking out and seeing the horses, goats and chickens were an added plus. We loved everything about the house. The location is close to Gettysburg and things to do, yet peaceful and relaxing for a quiet time together.

Beautiful Home

We had a great time in this home. It is more than spacious and offers many amenities. The indoor pool was a big hit with the kiddos, and the large dinning table provided our family the opportunity to gather. The farm animals were awesome; we loved the binder explaining each animal. Overall, a great experience.

Would be amazing any time of year.

The home was beautiful. Had all the amenities we could have wanted or needed. There was plenty to do inside or outside the home. Whether it was the game room with pool, air hockey, ping pong, and more , or outside enjoying the views and the friendly animals. My stay was durring winter and the indoor pool felt amazing. Boys weekend

It had been a long time since my friends and I went away together for our football weekend trip. I wanted the best house for us. Th Big House was all that and more. Home away from home!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Elizabeth! The animals were our biggest enjoyment along with the indoor pool! Huge hit! Hot dogs grilled on the firepit one night was very special for all of us. Great family vacation

My family had a wonderful time enjoying themselves on this vacation. The home is very comfortable and lots of activities for both adults and children.My grandchildren especially loved all the treats they could use to feed the animals and enjoyed interacting with them. They even had to say goodbye to them when leaving and would miss them. The pool and hot tub were great. The owner was great at recommending Dobbin House restaurant for dinner and it was great. She has a binder with restaurants,breweries, and wineries near that make it easy . Thank you for all the little things you do to make a great vacation !

Spring break getaway with friends and family

Great place for a family vacation. Kids loved the pool and the game room. Teens ventured in to downtown Gettysburg to shop and walk around. We did have some difficulty regulating the temperature in the upstairs bedrooms, we stayed on a fluke warm day in april and sleeping got a little uncomfortable but the second night was cooler and we got past it. The downstairs bedrooms would probably benefit from some form of dehumidifier. Just an observation. Overall, the house, the pool,the scenery, the lovely animals, the fire pit was all amazing. Really a great time and very convenient.

Happy New Year 2021!

What a wonderful place to bring in the New Year with family and friends. The Big House offers plenty of space for all ages to spread out, with the biggest attraction for the younger members of our party being the heated indoor pool! It was lots of fun meeting & feeding the animals and chickens on the property. We even had a special tour guide show us around the chicken coop - thank you Vaughn!! The fresh eggs were an added bonus and obviously delicious! And oh those barn cats....sweetest things! We look forward to returning! The Kempkes, Gallagher & Cannizarro/Cordero Families New York
