Golfview Lorne - For all seasons

DESCRIPTION: Offering stunning ocean and golf course views, as well as privacy and modern facilities, Golfview provides the perfect Lorne getaway. With 5 bedrooms, 2 living areas, modern kitchen and 2.5 bathrooms, the house is configured to comfortably sleep up to 12 guests, however the thoughtful layout also makes the house suitable for smaller groups looking for a spacious yet cosy coastal escape.

On the main floor is the open-plan living area, incorporating a designer kitchen with island bench, Bosch dishwasher, dual-door fridge, wide electric oven and a full suite of kitchen appliances and cooking equipment. The kitchen opens onto the spacious, light-filled lounge with a comfortable corner couch and a 65 inch TV with unlimited wifi and Netflix and Stan subscriptions. The lounge also includes split system air-conditioning and a fully stocked Coonara wood fire, as well as an adjoining dining section with seating for 8 and ocean views.

The main living area opens onto the enormous main deck with outdoor table, sun lounges, cushions, modern barbecue and stunning ocean and golf course views. The deck is also fully enclosed, making it safe for young children.

Also on the main floor is a separate powder room/toilet next to the main living area, as well the master bedroom with queen sized bed, pillow-top mattress and en-suite with double shower, toilet and vanity.

Downstairs you'll find another main bathroom (with European laundry and double showers), as well as three more bedrooms (including one which sleeps up to four people). You'll also find a large rumpus area with digital TV (plus Chromecast), as well as leather couches, a table-tennis table and split system air-conditioning/heating.

On the top level is our personal favourite, the tower room. This room is flooded with natural light and is the perfect place to escape the kids and read a book. It opens to its own, private deck and has a queen sized bed.

The house also includes heating in every bedroom, a selection of DVDs, CDs, books and games, plus facilities for small children (including highchair, 2 portable cots, plastic kitchenware, toys and kids’ DVDs/books). There's also a double parking bay for 2 cars next to the house with easy access (unlike many places in Lorne with impossibly steep driveways!!), plus parking spaces out the front for 2 additional cars.

ACTIVITIES

Just across the road from the house lies the Lorne Country club, a lush and superbly manicured 9 hole public course with stunning coastal views (9 holes $25 / 18 holes $35) as well as a selection of tennis courts ($20/hour). The beach is a mere two minute drive down the hill or a 10-15 minute walk (probably 20 to get back up). There are loads of interesting things to see and do in and around Lorne, including beautiful and varied short and long walks, waterfalls, galleries, cafes, restaurants, shopping and a movie cinema, as well as the classic Lorne pub overlooking the beach. Lorne is also famous for whale watching season (July-September) and is the perfect base for exploring the Great Ocean Road, with many amazing spots to discover within an hour’s drive.

FOR THE KIDS: Down on the large, open grassy foreshore next to the main beach you’ll find an impressive adventure playground, skate park and BBQ facilities. You’ll also find an open-air, beachfront sporting complex with swimming pool, spa, gym and café/restaurant, along with an assortment of activities and facilities for children, including mini-golf and water-games.
