Summary:

Our luxury Beachfront estate has 4 beachfront one-bedroom suites and a garden view two-bedroom Ohana. Each suite has a private entrance, separate living room, full kitchen and is like having your own condo at the beach in Maui. This special place is hidden behind a private, double gated entrance, lined with 700 ft of lighted coconut palms that lure you into the feeling of leaving the world behind. But is still centrally placed in Kihei nearly all of the amenities you might desire. BBKM 2013/0002



The Space:

The Aloha AKU Hula Suite sits closest to the La’ie wetlands. Enter through your private door and enjoy the soothing colors and local art commemorating the Hula tradition of Hawaii. Drop your bags, put on some Hawaiian music, and kick back to begin your amazing stay. Pull open the glass slider and step onto your private lanai. Sit down and enjoy the ocean view across the beautiful grassy area or maybe grab a glass of wine and head down toward the beach for a sunset experience. Maui is calling you.

The total number of guests shall be limited to up to two adult guests and up to two minor guests per bedroom. As we are an adult-centric property, pre-approval for minors 13 years old or younger is required before booking.

We are not currently providing breakfast at this time. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to contact us if you have any questions.

Blessed by Kaunas, Aloha Aku means the place that ‘gives love and kindness’. Formally known as Aikane Hale, AlohaAKU Inn & Suites is a tucked-away, one-of-a-kind vacation gem. Our luxury beachfront estate has four beachfront one-bedroom suites and a garden view two-bedroom ohana. Each suite has a private entrance, a separate living room, a full kitchen, and is like having your own condo at the beach in Maui. This special place is hidden behind a private, double-gated entrance, lined with 700 feet of lighted coconut palms that lure you into the feeling of leaving the world behind, yet is still centrally placed in Kihei with nearly all of the amenities you might desire.

Part of the lawn stretching out towards the beach is county-owned and open to the public, but the protected wetlands beside us help create more privacy and a sense of seclusion.

Guests have described Aloha Aku as ‘the most tranquil and ultimate place for relaxation!' You can’t help but feel the peacefulness of Maui's beauty wash over you here. The beach out front of Aloha Aku is only accessible from Aloha Aku or the private neighboring homes and condos. As a result, the beach is underused and hardly traveled. Sometimes it's like having your own private beach. Hidden behind the tallest mangrove forest in the state, Aloha Aku will pleasantly greet you with an extravaganza of natural Hawaiian beauty. Aloha Aku lulls you into a wondrous state of being, yet is in the ultimate location for access to the many conveniences in mid-Kihei. Aloha Aku is well situated to be your base of operations to explore the rest of the Maui island, just twenty minutes from the airport and within easy walking distance of nearby groceries, shopping, pupu bars (appetizers), dozens of eateries, bars, car rentals, dive shops, and much more. When guests return to the property, they say it ‘feels like home’. Some never leave the property during their visit, happy to just lounge around and suntan from their private lanai or on the beach out front!

The suites include air conditioning, ceiling fans, high-speed Wi-Fi, free parking, key codes for everything (no keys or cards to worry about), flat-screen HD TVs with DirecTV in the living room and bedroom. Warm up a snack or make yourself a full meal in your suite's fully equipped kitchen. Take a cool dip in the ili-ili (smooth) stone dipping pools or take an invigorating Jacuzzi while watching the stunning sunsets. In addition, there is a gas barbecue on site nestled between some acacia palm trees overlooking the state-protected La'ie wetlands.

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay. The accomodations were perfect. We had a gorgeous yard right at the beach. Lots of other beaches nearby, and many restaurants. Also easy to travel from there around the island. The hot tub and soaking pool were wonderful! Thank you! Love love the motion hula lamp!

Great place to stay if you like beaches, sunsets and sea turtles! Quiet and great kitchen if you like to cook for yourself. If we end up heading to Maui again, we will for sure consider Aloha Aku, owners and property managers were very nice and helpful, plus all the fun stuff (i..e., paddle boards, kayaks, snorkel great, bikes) is already onsite for you to use. Not top of the line stuff, but it's easy to get and already included. Great place to stay!

Dream wedding and vacation!!!

Could not have been more personalized! We felt like we lived there! Char and Gary were such great people....they are what we call ohana now! We will be going back for sure, so much to do or not do. Spacious rooms, beautiful property and the common area was perfect.

Best place in Maui I've found!

This property is perfect! The owners have thought of everything and the little touches of things, like snack food, access to the laundry, the beach amenities, the library - just simply amazing. The property is very clean, well maintained and the check in directions received make it all work flawlessly. The beach was uncrowded and we enjoyed watching the sunsets right from our patio. We like the small resort feel or private homes and this place completely worked for us. Thank you for allowing us to stay at this fabulous property.

This property is great if you want a laid back, well-maintained, beautiful place to stay. The Hula Suite was a great place to retreat to after a day adventuring on Maui. Located in Kihei it was closer to more economic dining options than say Lahaina or Wailea. The beach is beautiful and as mentioned in other reviews, not very crowded. Char and Gary who on the property and live there as well where very prompt and responsive at resolving any requests or concerns guests may have. Their website is excellent for describing the property and there were no surprises upon arrival.

Aloha Aku - Maui Paradise

My husband and I stayed in the Hula Suite, which is next to the wetland reserve area. Each morning & evening we were treated to the music of the birds. The picture is a accurate depiction of Aloha Aku's location - literally right on the beach. No need to rent any rec equipment, because Aloha Aku has it for FREE. You won't find a better value for your vacation dollar. We will be back.

What a peaceful and beautiful spot away from the crowds but in close proximity to the essentials. A lovely property with everything you would need. Great communication from the hosts... we arrived at the wrong gate (went too far) and within seconds we were able to connect with them and get turned around. Upon arrive your fridge was stocked with fresh fruit and baked goods!!! Bed was extremely comfortable.... my husband Pat bonded with the geese! Would stay again in a heartbeat!! Thank you!

If we could offer 6 stars, we would! Char and Gary have created the ultimate romantic and relaxed destination. Why book an uncomfortable room in a giant highrise, when you can have luxury in a more private setting? Aloha Aku is the most beautiful site. The view from your Lanai will be worth a million dollars - perfectly West facing for stunning Sunsets!! The soaking pool and hot tub is a perfect way to end your day after snorkeling or stand up paddle boarding. The units are impeccably apportioned, completely private, and cannot be closer to the quiet beach. The owners provide free stand up paddle boards, beach cruser bikes, snorkel gear, beach towels, reef shoes, and body boards - we figure we saved over $400 for the week from rentals. Aloha Aku is a beautiful site. The view from your Lanai will be worth a million dollars! The fresh fruit, juices, and pastries provided for breakfast are a nice touch. This was the best vacation (actually honeymoon) we could have imagined and we are already planning our schedule to re-book. You should book Aloha Aku too...just don't pick our week ;-)

Perfect Getaway

AlohaAku is the perfect place for a romantic couples getaway! So glad we found this little gem. Staying here was like having our own private waterfront estate. Charlene and Gary had a chilled bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived (since we were celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary-married on Oahu in 2012) along with some macadamia nut treats. So thoughtful! The suites are comfortable and nicely decorated with plenty of Hawaiian charm. The kitchen was equipped with everything needed to make a gourmet meal or a quick snack, including a Keurig with a variety of coffees to choose from. The grounds are gorgeous, beautifully landscaped and meticulously maintained, and just steps from the beach. We had many interesting encounters with the resident ducks/geese and frogs :) We loved the hot tub and soaking pools right outside our suite. Sitting on the private lanai in the morning or evening all you can hear is the wind, waves, and birds in the mangrove forest along the creek next to the suites...so relaxing! The property also gives you a perfect front row seat for sunset every evening. There are plenty of water toys (paddleboards, kayaks, etc) and land toys (bikes, tennis rackets, etc) available for guest use at no additional cost! Since this was my first time to Maui, our itinerary was pretty full and the weather was a little wonky while we were there, so we had to make some adjustments and play things by ear, but staying in Kihei was perfect base. The nice thing about Maui, it seemed, was if it is raining where you are, just go a mile or two up the road and it's probably sunny! Kihei is a great representation of a Hawaii beach & surfing town. It is located on the south shore in the Maui valley, centrally located and nestled in between the busier resort areas of Lahaina, Ka'anapali, and Wailea. AlohaAku was just steps away from groceries, shopping, and restaurants. (We highly recommend Diamonds IceBar, Coconuts, and Ululani's Shave Ice) Our only regret was not having a couple of extra days just to relax and enjoy our suite and the beach right outside our door. We can't wait to come back! Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality!

Perfect Stay

My husband and I had a lovely stay here. The property is so well maintained and in a great location in walking distance to a grocery store, restaurants, and such. The back yard is beautiful and perfect for sitting on your own private lanai for coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening. It faces west so you get the best sunset views. Staff was incredibly communicative and kind. The community room has everything you might need, including a fridge of leftover booze from previous tenants that are free for the taking. Highly recommend!

THE only place to stay in Maui!

Initially I chose this location for it's central location. But the need to go anywhere was quickly alleviated. We did, it was our first time on the island. But we could've stayed on site the whole time. All of the toys were excellent. Teres was just amazing, always available and even through unforseen complications kept our stay so amazingly comfortable. We are fans for life!! When we travel back, there is only one place we will stay. You should do the same, you will be in awe of the views, convenience, and comfort.

Wonderful!!

Our stay was amazing. The one thing I could have mentioned was that our back patio lights were not working and my girlfriend and I wanted to eat dinner outside. But I let our host know and she said she has been trying to get an electrician out to fix the issue and she would do her best to get one out and have it fixed. When we got back that evening they had set up candles for us on the back patio AND the lights were fixed. We enjoyed everything about our stay. THANK YOU!

We enjoyed our 6 night stay at Aloha Aku very much. It’s a great location for day trips all over the Island. This location is more than just a home base for vacation. The beach is right outside your door and there is a beautiful sunset over the ocean every night. It is clean and comfortable and the owners and workers are very nice. They had everything we needed including beach chairs, towels and even a cooler. It was wonderful. Next time we come back to Maui we will stay here again! Mahalo!

The perfect spot to relax or explore!

My wife and I found Ahola AKU to be the perfect little sanctuary for our honeymoon in Maui! The property was beautiful and serene, with easy access to the beach! The amenities were easily accessible and great for anyone who likes be travel independently. We found that being in Kihei was great to access different parts of the island by car, which was great as we loved exploring some of the more out of the way spots. Great (proactive) support from the staff, who were happy make suggestions and point out things we would have otherwise overlooked. Will definitely come back to Aloha AKU for our next visit to Maui!

Serenely situated

The location is great, the grounds are lovely, and the unit is up to date. A nice stay with friendly folks on site. As a note to anyone who may be working out of this location - the wifi signal is very spotty. While it said there was strong signal, it could not support a single video call during my week here. The wifi connectivity is stronger, however, in the main common area, if you need it.

Island bliss

Charlene and Gary’s place was absolute bliss. We were looking for a few days of peace and quiet before joining family on the other side of the island and Aloha Aku more than delivered. The suite was spotless, had every accommodation you could ask for, and more than anything was quiet and tranquil. The beach in front was the perfect place to relax and enjoy sunset. I will be counting the days until we can return for a longer stay. Now that we are at a larger resort with family and large crowds, I am missing this spot sorely! Do not hesitate a minute and book this lovely gem while you can!
