About this property
Barefoot at Broken Head
NO SCHOOLIES ENQUIRIES PLEASE
Situated beachside, just minutes south of Byron Bay, NSW, this sprawling five bedroom home on Broken Head Beach is a series of five buildings connected to each other by decks and walkways, with two stunning heated pools for either lap swimming (20m) or lounging around.
POOLS
The reflection pool is 30cm deep for toddlers and reclining adults, with reading bays cut into the steps. This spills down to a 20 metre lap pool. Both are heated May to September. The deck around the pools is golden sandstone under deck chairs and large umbrellas. You can watch the kids play in the pool from the kitchen and dining table, through the glass safety fence.
BEDROOMS
Five air conditioned bedrooms. Each of the two main bedrooms has a king-size double bed, and room for two singles, and overall there are four bathrooms.
The home is beautifully furnished, with a plush 6m long lounge, deck chairs and a gorgeous daybed on the main bedroom's verandah.
You'll hear the surf at night from your bed, and the beach is a stone's throw over a track through the sand dunes to one of the world's top 100 rated right-hand point breaks with safe swimming at the protected southern point.

Or you may choose to book our in-house chef for that special night, eating on the deck under the stars.

WEDDINGS
The only private house in Byron Bay approved for functions. This is the most elegant and relaxed beach wedding venue in Australia. We have a capacity of 70. Curfew for non-staying guests 9pm.
To hold a reception there is a four night minimum stay (three nights midweek) and a reception fee that covers infrastructure like marquee, seating for 50, gate attendant, 5 standing bars and stools, arbour, beach ceremony seating and permit, signing table and chairs, bar, wet weather sail when required, public liability insurance and rubbish removal. Reception fee $4500 (50 - 70 guests), $3600 (35 - 50 guests), $2500 (26 - 35 guests), $1900 (16 - 25 guests no marquee) $400 (no marquee, less than 16 guests). Catering must be arranged through Byron bay Weddings.
Get married around lunchtime and wind away the afternoon through the sunset with your guests.
Why let the wedding celebration end when it doesn't have to. Continue the dancing, and the good times at your wedding after-party and celebrate until the early hours.
LOCATION - Broken Head
The stretch of beach to the immediate south of the Byron Bay Lighthouse ends at its south point, the tiny settlement of Broken Head, where there will only ever be 17 houses. From the beach you can only see one building, the Byron Bay Lighthouse. Ignore that and you could be transported back 1000 years.
Mostly untouched rainforest, Broken Head is a magical spot positioned only a few minutes from the heart of Byron Bay and boasts a beach with a legendary point break. The beach break is perfect for beginners, and local surf schools often choose to give their students their first wave in the family friendly shallows of the beach. Over the summer months the beach is patrolled by lifeguards.
Dolphins and whales are a common sight in the ocean out front. Two of the most deserted and beautiful beaches in the shire, Brays and Kings, are found by walking up Seven Mile Beach road and down tracks through the rainforest. The road begins right outside our front gate.
