Relax in the Papamoa countryside, at our Farmstay retreat! Enjoy its magical & peaceful location, only a 7-minute drive from beautiful beaches and 10 minutes to great cafes and shops. Venture out your front door and enjoy the beautiful Papamoa Hills walk with historic Maori Pa sites! Meet our pet farm animals, hand feed Mr Chips & Ivy (Flemish giant rabbits), chickens, Mara & Wednesday (our pet goats), Larry, Emily ( sheep) & Piglet & Rosie (pet cows). Weekly or monthly rate available. Our Farmstay apartment is a 60m2 dwelling set well off the road with private parking. It is ideal for a family of 4-5 (2 adults, 3 children) or for 3 - 4 adults. Pets may stay upon application. Nestled within the Papamoa Hills cultural and Recreational Park, on 17 acres of farmland and regenerating bush, this is the escape you've been looking for! Relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of a rural property. End the day with a sunset walk under endless stars on the Papamoa Hills walk or relax with a nice glass of wine and a cosy fire. After a great night’s sleep, collect fresh eggs from the friendly chickens in our citrus orchard while the kids have a great time on the big tree swing and trampoline! Outside you have plenty of space to roam, run or relax. Make a coffee and relax in the hammock while the kids run between the football field & the trampoline or just hang out with our hand-raised farm animals. Meet our pet sheep Larry & Emily, Mara & Wednesday (our pet goats) & Piglet & Rosie (our pet jersey cows). Our sheep will be lambing in spring & we have two Flemish giant rabbits called Ivy & Mr Chips that love being hand fed and are super friendly! All of our animals were hand-raised from babies and think of people as family. We frequently have guests surprised at just how friendly they are - the pet goats in particular will follow you around the paddock just like a dog would! The Papamoa Hills recreational park has a series of historic Maori Pa sites along with a variety of fantastic walks (or runs for fitness buffs), culminating in beautiful views of the Mount and Papamoa - spectacular at sunrise and sunset. At night you can sit outside and enjoy the abundance of stars and the sound of moreporks. Inside everything has been designed with your comfort in mind, with super comfortable new beds, pillows, mattresses. Blackout blinds ensure a full nights sleep and retractable insect screens mean you can enjoy the country air. Equipped with a fully functional kitchen, with the essentials for cooking and baking available plus large fridge freezer for you to stock up. There is a sunbeam coffee machine, Smeg oven and hob, dishwasher, and a washing machine. In addition to a full-sized Smart TV with Netflix provided, there is a Bluetooth soundbar for playing music. Starlink internet is also provided. The apartment is double glazed and fully insulated, with air conditioning to keep it cool in summer and a wood-burning fireplace and heat pump to keep it warm and cosy in winter. Free-range eggs (when available), tea, herbal teas, allpress coffee beans, hot chocolate are provided along with spices, sauces, and baking essentials. The entire dwelling is for your private use. The apartment is attached but “separated” from our small farm warehouse/office where our business is located. We only have 4 staff that work normal business hours (8-5pm, weekdays) There is a huge football field for your use in front of the accommodation and a netted trampoline! This is a shared space with our other airbnb accommodation, as is access to the pet animals. The two accommodation options are completely separate to each other and very private. A very short walk to the next paddock has a couple of tree swings. You are also free to wander anywhere within that paddock. The fences are not electric but all gates should be left as they are found. Let us know if you have children coming and we will bring our tame goats, sheep, and cows down to hang out with them. They love a pat and we can provide food for hand feeding. By the citrus orchard, just to the front left of your accommodation, we have 2 Flemish giant rabbits (Mr Chips & Vadah), plus tame free-range chickens. The Papamoa Hills recreational park has a fantastic walk (or run for fitness buffs ) culminating in beautiful views of the Mount and Papamoa - spectacular at sunrise and sunset, and of course, the beach is a 5-minute drive away. The Farmstay apartment is on our 17 acre property. Our home is only 500 metres away, so we are always available should you need anything. We are happy to come introduce you to the animals. Set in the beautiful Bay of Plenty, we are blessed with one of the best surf and swimming beaches in NZ, along with several beautiful walks (the Papamoa Hills walk which is in our backyard, options of walking around the Mount or climbing to the summit, plus the Kaiate Falls walk). Within 10 minutes drive, there are a number of special local cafes, including 'the Daily' (cafe of the year 2019), plus a huge variety of restaurants and shops. Bayfair shopping mall is 10-15 minutes drive and for some more unique shops, there is boutique shopping in the Mount (20 minutes drive). There are also 2 lovely natural hot pools nearby - Welcome Bay hot pools and the Mount hot pools, so you really are spoiled for choice! Slightly further afield (a 50 minute drive) is Rotorua, with all of its thermal wonder and adrenaline activities! If bringing a dog, we can provide a tether and outdoor kennel. There are a number of dog friendly walks locally, however unfortunately the Papamoa Hills are not. However Papamoa beach is, as is Kaiate Falls, Waipuna park, the Daisy Hardwick walk. Pets are on application only. Because we are a rural property, you will need a car to get around. The nearest town is 8 minutes drive in either direction, although the beach is a little closer. Uber is available as are taxi's of course.
