About this property

A grand scale country escape in the Yarramalong Valley, NSW.

Proudly standing on 50-acres of historic farmland once owned by the earliest sawmilling pioneers of the area is our architecturally designed American style prairie barn.

Perfect for a group of friends, families, social and sporting club getaways or couples seeking a jumbo-sized space to chill, The Barn at Mill Creek offers guests the chance to experience the natural attractions of the Yarramalong Valley and the Onley State Forest right from its country-luxe doorstep - an easy 50-minute drive north from Sydney.

Purposefully built to embrace the beauty of its surrounds, the open-plan layout of The Barn provides guests with a boutique accommodation experience on a grand scale. Double entry-way doors from the tiled verandah open into a saloon style bar area, complete with 3-metre long blue-gum timber bar top and the first of two cosy indoor fireplaces. The bathroom and shower are accessible on this level and for those that simply can’t escape work, connect to the Wi-Fi and take a seat at the bankers desk overlooking the front pasture for peaceful productivity.

Crisp bed-linen and luxury blankets await in the upper level sleeping quarters, offering restful accommodation in stylish comfort for up to 5 guests in an open-plan loft layout with views of the farm and bordering State Forest.

The vast main living area of The Barn is dedicated to entertaining and offers guests the use of a fully equipped and amply stocked kitchen, a dining table with seating for 10, a cinema-sized television with Bluetooth soundbar and authentic leather chesterfield lounges for curling up in front of the main fireplace.

With the click of a button, double roller doors on either side of the living room seamlessly connect the indoors to the outdoors, revealing a generous paved patio area and outdoor fire-pit. This unique design feature enables guests ease of movement throughout The Barn, the option to cocoon during the cooler months as well as providing light and airflow during the summer season.

Unwind in The Barn’s grandiose style with sunshine, fresh forest air, the glow of a campfire and a sky full of stars.

Things To Do:

Have a cold beer and a BBQ on the patio as the sun slips into the late afternoon
Roast marshmallows by the outdoor fire-pit and tell tall tales under the stars
Cuddle up on the leather chesterfields in front of the indoor fireplace
Hit the light switch and settle in for a movie in front of the big screen
Roll out your yoga mat at first light and meditate to the early morning bell-bird song
Sip your coffee from the front verandah and listen for the raucous call of the cockatoos
Take a stroll along the gravel driveway to the rear of the property to meet our family of pigs and cows
Grab your boots and binoculars and take a nature walk through the ghost gums of the surrounding State Forest
Get competitive on the half-sized basketball court
Have a jump and a giggle with the kids on the ground-level trampoline
Set your heart racing on the zip-line (adult supervision required)
Challenge the family to a board game or a round of cards
Look for wallabies, wedge-tail eagles, cheeky parrots, yellow-tailed black cockatoos and listen out for owls
Have a game of spotlight with the kids under the starry sky

Know Before You Go:

We recommend sturdy walking shoes or gumboots for exploring the farm surrounds. Country nights can be cold so bring a beanie and warm jacket to wear by the outdoor fire-pit. (firewood is provided).

Download the free SkyView Lite App for an incredible star-gazing experience.

Other Nearby Activities:

Book a horse-riding or mountain-biking adventure with one of the local operators.

Test yourself and the kids on a ropes and flying fox course at Treetops Adventure Park (highly recommended - advance bookings essential).

Take the kids for a milkshake and a canoe ride at The Wyong Milk Factory (10-minute drive)

Enjoy a family fun day at Amazement Farm & Fun Park.

Visit the Australian Reptile Park at Somersby.

Additional Info:

Guests have full access to The Barn and farm surrounds and are welcome to use the in-ground trampoline and basketball as well as the zip-line (under the close supervision of an adult). Free parking is available on the property. Public transport is unavailable to our location.

Please note: guests of our other property 'The Cottage' may also be on-site and we kindly ask you to respect their privacy.

Located on the NSW Central Coast, The Yarramalong Valley winds its way through a picturesque landscape of lush farmland and pristine forest area. Local produce of eggs, seasonal fruit and sunflowers are available at many of the farm gates and the area is known for the Harvest Festival in June and the Spring Fair in September.

Clean as a whistle 4. Great facilities, the beds were sooo comfy. 5. Private and peaceful. Many thanks for those taste treats, we would love to return sometime soon.

Loved the eclectic decor and kids loved the trampoline and basketball court, along with feeding the cows. My only negative was that we had to open up the roller doors - even when really cold - to let the light in as there weren't windows in the main living area. Would've been awesome to have been able to look out at the lovely view through windows without letting the cold winter morning in.
