Beautiful cabin with excellent views of the mountains. It was very private and peaceful. Very close to lots of hiking trails and river views. Loved it!
Peaceful mountain top retreat! Dan and Sheyla were attentive hosts and their home was just what we needed! Very well equipped and just the perfect relaxing escape after our adventures during the day! Thank you for sharing and we will return!
Absolutely beautiful property in one of the most beautiful places in the world. The cabin is well kept and feels very private, we loved it! The property owners were very helpful and communicative. Can’t wait to go back!
We rented this cabin for our sons birthday weekend. The entire cabin was beautiful, also Dan and Sheyla were wonderful! The views were absolutely amazing, we were sad to leave. Lots of wonderful wildlife also. We will definitely come back! Thank you for making his birthday weekend unforgettable
We had such a lovely time at the cabin, the pictures could never do it justice! It was very cozy and welcoming right as we walked in the door. Sitting in the hot tub and watching the sunrise over the mountains is something we will never forget! They went above and beyond for amenities too.
Shayla and Dan were amazing hosts, available to answer any questions I had and provided great information about the cabin once we arrived.
The pictures really don’t do this cabin justice. Gorgeous views and literally everything we needed was available to us. It was the most peaceful away from everything trip we’ve ever been able to find. A absolute pleasure to wind down with only the distraction of birds and squirrels.
I want to say this was the best getaway my husband and I have had. So peaceful and relaxing. We even got to experience the snow fall when we first arrived! The owners are very helpful and so nice we couldn't have asked for better! The views were phenomenal and even our pups enjoyed exploring.
Without a doubt we will make this a return destination! Thank you for sharing your beautiful place!
This property has now become our favorite. Coming from a busy area in Florida all we wanted was peace and quiet and this quaint cabin gave us just that. Dan was the perfect host
checking in on us and providing us places to eat in town and making sure we stopped at the grocery store before we drove to the cabin. The drive into the cabin was epic and the hot tub was the icing on the cake. Highly recommend. Even my teenager daughter had a great time.
We had an absolutely lovely time here. Exploring nearby mountain roads, soaking in the hot tub, and relaxing by the fire were all exactly what we needed for a week away from the city. It was so nice to enjoy the quiet and watch the clouds slowly move over the mountains. We didn't spend a ton of time indoors, but what we did was cozy and fun. So grateful we found this place. Thanks, Dan & Sheyla.
There are not adequate words to describe the beauty of the natural scenery. The home is well stocked, immaculate, and inviting. We were contacted and welcomed immediately upon arriving. If you enjoy "alone time", this is the perfect choice!
This was our second trip to this cabin. We love coming here because it feels like home. There is nothing like getting up in the morning and watching the mist move off the mountains. Only sounds we heard were birds and crickets. The kitchen is well supplied; we brought food for breakfast and got lunch and dinner in Andrews or Bryson City. Nantahala River is a short drive if you like fishing, kayaking or want to go river rafting.
My husband and I reserved this cabin looking for relaxing week enjoy the turning leaves in the NC mountains. This cabin is totally equipped, very clean, comfortable and had wonderful views of the NC mountains from the porch. Plus there is a hot tub where you can enjoy a nice relaxing soak while looking out at the view. If you are looking for a private get away to spend a week relaxing in nature (no car sounds, just birds and crickets) this is the place for you. We plan to return.

This cabin has become a new Favorite for our Mountain retreats. It was very well appointed with all the items of home and great attention to detail. Although the leaves are still on the trees; it has great views from the property. It is a close drive to some many various recreational spots which we were able to access and enjoy.
We carried our two dogs and they both love the place also. I actually had an issue connected with the TV satellite, so I made a call to the owner.
He answered immediately and graciously helped me through the process; problem solved. My partner and I were amazed at how clean and well kept the whole area around Nanatahalla is.
Having stayed in vacation cabins across the Appalachian Mountains for over 30 years; this place is truly at the very top of the list.
Once again, a wonderful stay at this cozy and very private cabin at the top of the mountain! Although we do have a 4WD vehicle, we only needed to use 2WD to get up the driveway... Yes, it's gravel, and yes, it's steep. Just drive slowly and know in advance that it will take about 3 1/2 minutes to get up the driveway to reach the cabin- But oh, it's worth it!! Dan & Sheyla are very conscientious owners, and really roll out the welcome mat for their guests. We will be back again!
We spent a lot of time down at the Nantahala Outdoor Center, and had a fantastic experience doing a guided whitewater rafting tour. Highly recommend the River's End pizza!

My wife and I rented this cabin for the week of 7/14 to 7/21. Overall, it was a very nice cabin and was what we were looking for. It was close enough to Lake Nantahala, Bryson City, Cherokee, and the whitewater rafting outlets to make it convenient to visit.
The only problem we had was the lack of air conditioning. Prior to booking, we were told that nobody has complained about it and that we could just open the windows and let the breeze come through. Unfortunately, there was no breeze and it was just plain hot! There were box fans but they didn't help much. Because of that, we were sort of forced to leave the cabin during the day. Initially, our plan was to spend more time in the cabin but it was just too uncomfortable. It did cool down late at night but that was about it. This is a great cabin but we are convinced that we visited at the wrong time of the year for the reasons listed above.
Everything else about the cabin was great. Our visit would have been a 5 star visit if it had air conditioning available.
My wife and I were looking for a place to have a quiet and secluded retreat to celebrate our 30th anniversary. This was the perfect place for just that! The location is very remote, yet also close to many hiking trails, and other outdoor activities. We went to dinner in Bryson City one evening, which was not too far away.
The cabin is very clean and stocked with plenty of dishes, small appliances, linens, towels, blankets, etc. All major appliances were in great working condition. The TV's in the living areas and bedroom are hooked up with DirectTV, but they were rarely used as we spent most of the time on the porch soaking in the amazing views and listening to the chattering birds. The hot tub was in perfect working condition and was greatly appreciated after a morning of hiking and for an evening soak.
We were nervous about the driveway at first based on other reviews, but our Odyssey minivan made it up with no problems. Put it in low gear, take it slow and easy, and enjoy the climb as it takes you deeper and deeper into the woods with a wonderful refuge at the top of the road. It was easy and fun each time we traversed it after that!
It is difficult to put into words the feelings of isolation, peace and calm that we felt during our stay. We didn't want to leave and we definitely want to return. If you are looking for a place to escape the stress of everyday life and relax surrounded by nature’s peace and quiet, this is the place!
My family and I enjoyed this private little cabin very much. It gave us some wholesome experiences and wonderful memories to treasure! It was truly beautiful and peaceful!
The location of this cabin is perfect. Groceries are 25 minutes away and horseback riding, awesome hiking trails (e.g., Wesser Bald), and whitewater rafting are 15 to 30 minutes away. The owner was responsive when contacted and was kind to provide plenty of towels, soap, paper items, cleaning supplies, and so on so we didn't need to purchase such items. You will need charcoal for the grill, but the cabin is stocked with the rest of the essentials (e.g., pans, plates, cups, etc.). There was some dust built up in some areas, but the cabin was mostly clean. There is no AC, but the air was cool enough.
The driveway can be a little nerve racking, even for people like us who have years of experience with challenging mountain roads. We were informed by a local fireman that he has had to rescue people on the driveway, mostly in the winter, who tried backing up on the driveway and drove off the side of the mountain. So, if you choose this gem of a cabin, do not back up and do not try to park at the barn. Stay to the left, keep driving until you find the cabin, and maybe consider bringing an AWD or 4WD vehicle (I can't imagine trying to drive to the cabin in the winter without AWD/4WD). The driveway takes about three-and-a-half minutes to navigate at a safe speed (two-and-a-half once you get the hang of it).
The host was great, checked in to make sure we arrived and contacted us when the wi-fi provider notified them the service was down. The property was great, and just as described in the listing.
