About this property

Rustic Mountain Cabin

Chestnut Haven is situated on 2.5 acres, very secluded and peaceful. Vaulted ceilings with 100 year old wormy chestnut wood, hefty hammer beams and a gas log fireplace with stonework to the ceiling. We have a large beech tree securing the staircase with rustic mountain laurel twigs. The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances, dishes utensils, etc., and granite counter tops. Bedrooms are comfortable with cotton sheets, and soft quilts and comforters. Thirsty cotton bath towels are in each bathroom. If we've forgotten anything, please let us know. Your comfort and enjoyment is our #1 priority.

We have been in the area almost 40 years, and are so thankful to live here and love sharing it with the many visitors we have had at Laurel Haven.

Why they chose this property

The beauty. Nature surrounds and abounds. The peace. The proximity to so many activities. It is central to Dupont State Forest and Pisgah National Forests. Biltmore House is only 1 hour away.

What makes this property unique

We have tried to bring the outside inside. We have used many reclaimed objects, like the 100 year old wormy chestnut, the claw foot tub, antique sinks in both bathrooms. The laurel handrail and stone fireplace are great focal points in our cabin.
