Our vacation rental, the East Wing has been created with flexibility, restfulness and comfort in mind. It is a bright and sunny one-bedroom apartment, decorated with LLBean furnishings, local art and photography. Cozy quilts invite you to a restful night's sleep or afternoon naps. Enjoy our mature perennial gardens or a walk in the woods. Leave your bedroom window open during the night and you might hear the resident owl hoo-hooing or the neighborhood coyotes yipping. Comfortable air conditioning keeps you cool during hot summer days.

In the summer, see if our strawberries or blueberries are ready for your breakfast and visit the nearby farm stand for the freshest produce ever. Head to one of Biddeford Pool's exclusive beaches for some boogie boarding and then pick up some locally caught lobsters for your evening meal. Colder months are great for nearby Nordic skiing.

It really is the perfect home base for a beach vacation, a food and wine delight, a lighthouse exploration or a writer's retreat.

We would love to introduce you the beauty and richness of Southern Maine. The East Wing is literally minutes from some of the nicest beaches in Maine, wonderful kayaking and quiet walking trails, 20 minutes from Portland or Kennebunkport and about 45 minutes from the home of LLBean in Freeport, outlet shopping in Kittery or mountain hikes. This is just the beginning of our favorites list! We think that Maine is an amazing place to live and love sharing it as only native Mainers can.

We want to make sure that you have all the privacy that you deserve on vacation, so we are always available when you arrive and depart and as needed for other helpful things like directions, restaurant recommendations, advice on day trips, etc. Otherwise, we let you have as much privacy as you wish. We invite you to sample our quiet hospitality.

It was precisely as advertised. Everything was incredibly organized and Kathy was so responsive. The property is beautiful, where you can take a chair and sit looking at the garden. It was a great location, near downtown Saco and Biddeford.

Perfect Stay in Quiet Area

We spent a weekend in the area and loved the place. Super clean, very quiet (1000 ft from main road) and owner has been very kind and communicative and offered to help or anything needed. Kitchen is very well equipped. We visited the beach nearby and the cliffs at Cape Elizabeth.

Charming stay

Our Biddeford stay was so charming, comfortable and convenient. The home is off the main road and nestled in trees and lovely garden. Our own private entrance to a well thought out apartment. The open concept kitchen, dining and living area were comfortable. The bedroom was comfortable and bathroom was roomy. The hosts were so kind. Perfect stay

Kathi and her husband were great. Unit had everything you could think of and lots of personal touches. Great communication...even during the blackout. They had a generator to supply the power needed until the power was restored. Would definitely stay again.

Peace and Tranquility and Location

A fabulous vacation is all about location and that is what my husband and I had for a week at Kathy and Bob's. We were able to get to our favorite spots and enjoy them. Our host and hostess were awesome. Their place is amazing. It is immaculate and everything we needed and then some. The property is beautiful and Kathy loves to take care of her flowers which she shared with us in a lovely vase. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The living room chairs were so comfortable to sit and watch television in that I actually fell asleep in them a couple of times. The kings size bed with the en suite bathroom was perfect. There was a wonderful book full of places to visit and restaurants to try and we fully took advantage of it. Thank you Kathy and Bob for making our vacation so memorable and recommending some of your favorites especially Mainely Custard. It was awesome. Hope to see you again next year. Clean & crisp interior, Maine trendy interior. No cottage feel here. Privacy both in & out with gorgeous flower garden central to private entry. In a perfect location, striking distance to Kennebunkport & local beaches. We'd stay again!

Long-term Stay

This was the perfect place for us while we awaited our furniture shipment. Hosts were available, attentive and so friendly. (In fact, I believe we will stay in touch!). The apartment was well stocked and very comfortable. The bed was fantastic! And the gardens were beautiful - wonderful to watch the birds every morning. Would recommend this place to all!

Wonderful week in Maine!

Everything about this place is comfortable and welcoming! Not only is it immaculate, but Kathi has taken great care to provide lots of extras that can make a stay more comfortable. There are hooks where you need them, open storage areas for your toiletries and pantry items. We were even greeted by some breakfast basics in the fridge! Kathi and her husband were gracious, thoughtful, and communicative hosts. They seemed to be one step ahead of our possible needs, yet honoring our privacy. We appreciated all of the extra precautions they took because of the current pandemic. We're looking forward to staying there again!

Wow! A Spiritual Experience!

Kathi and Bob’s beautiful home and apartment are more than welcoming! It is a magical place where you can sleep deep and wake up to a flock of turkey outside your open window! A great place to do a yoga practice on the secured outside patio with Strider, the Belgian Shepherd, as your yoga partner. Amazing place...I would love to live here! Amen! 🙏

Great stay with a great host

Had a great stay In Biddeford. The apartment in Kathi’s home was extremely neat, clean and spacious. The home feels secluded, as you drive up the dirt road, but is just minutes in either direction to kennebunkport or Saco. Great location! The home home is very inviting in a park like-setting with beautiful gardens and Kathy made us feel very welcome. I will look forward to staying there again.

Cozy Retreat Nestled in the Woods of Maine

Excellent experience! Beautiful and well maintained property. Perfect for couples with comfortable “KING” bed. Kathi is such a gracious host, she made our stay so comfortable and welcoming. She added lots of personal touches with fresh cut flowers from her garden, left items for breakfast knowing we were getting in very late, shared fresh vegetables from her garden during our stay. There are lots of information in the apartment on local restaurant suggestions and things to do in the area. The apartment is well stocked everyday items in case you forget your own. Great location to visit popular areas. Highly recommend.

Great stay close to the ocean

Kathi and her husband were great hosts. The apartments is cute, very clean and cozy and tastefully decorated with a very comfortable king size bed. The fridge contained staples including, milk, half and half, eggs and yogurt and the pantry was stocked with additional extra food. Very quiet and not in a busy part of town. We felt very much at home and safe and hope to return in the future.

Great home base for exploring southern Maine

My husband & I spent 2 weeks in this lovely apartment. It was comfortable, clean, and an ideal location for exploring the coastal towns & beaches, Portland scenic tours & cruises, delicious meals (wonderful lobster many different ways), nearby lakes, nature preserves, and thoroughly relaxing. Kathryn was very helpful recommending local events that matched my interests, particularly in the arts, beaches, and suggested restaurants. Our apartment was especially well stocked with kitchen equipment, spices, & staples for cooking our own meals. We had total privacy but always access to the owners with any questions during our stay. I highly recommend this vacation rental!

We LOVED this property & location! Kathryn and Bob were gracious & accommodating hosts, and this apartment is spacious and lovely! From the beautiful yard and well-kept apartment, comfy king-size bed, well-stocked kitchen, great little den, updated bathroom, etc. everything was cozy, nicely decorated, and with a touch of elegance. Cozy and Comfortable

Kathi was at the door to greet us when we arrived, She gave us a tour of the apartment and an orientation including suggestions for where to eat nearby. The apartment was very clean and nicely decorated. Everything was provided that we would need to be comfortable. We enjoyed our days there and were able to relax when not attending events for a grandson's wedding.

Inspired stay and excellent host!

We sought an opportunity to experience the State of Maine and we chanced upon an excellent host who made us feel as if we were in a really special part of the world. Our time was brief - 5-nights wasn’t enough but we did enjoy what we saw. Adding to our experience was a host who went out of her way to ensure our time was put to good use and provided an accommodation experience that was up there with the best that HomeAway can provide!

More than homeaway—simply home!

We rented from Kathi & Bob during the winter, and despite the icy weather our stay was always warm and inviting. Kathi & Bob provided everything you would need to make a stay in any season comfortable. As an avid cook, I especially enjoyed the kitchen with its 5-burner range and extensive stock of pots, pans, tools, etc. The apartment was impeccably clean when we arrived, and throughout our stay Kathi and Bob always kept our common areas and the property well managed, safe, and beautiful. The property and the wildlife (deer, foxes, hummingbirds, turkeys, bunnies, and even the occasional porcupine!) really started to bloom just as our stay was coming to a close, and I imagine it's beautiful in the summer. Their dog, Strider, is a joy to be with and was very loving to our infant daughter. Kathi and Bob themselves went out of our their way to be accommodating to our family, and we parted as dear friends. I hope to see them soon, and I can't recommend a stay with them enough!

Perfect for us

Lovely above garage apartment. Very clean and furnished so thoughtfully with everything we might need whether hiking or bird watching or touring or visiting the beach. Our hosts offered their expertise about local attractions and were available if we had questions. We used it as a hub for daily jaunts around Maine and it was always nice to come home to in the evening. We would definitely consider it in the future.

Vacation in the Flower Garden

We had a wonderful time in Biddeford. I would have to say it is the first time I rented an apartment through VRBO that when we arrived, there were fresh flowers from Kathi's garden artfully arranged on the counter. The apartment was very spacious and comfortable. Bob and Kathi were the perfect host and hostess. The kitchen and bathroom were fully equipped. There was a binder full of information including maps and restaurants in the area. We hope we will be able to return in the future.

Biddeford has beautiful unspoiled beaches, where access is limited to residents and guests. Our location is close to all city amenities and toursit attractions, but off the beaten path enough to enjoy local wildlife for neighbors. We are 1000" from the street so it is an unusually private and quiet wooded setting that is perfect for relaxing.
