Local attractions
Inverloch is a popular seaside holiday spot, 2 hours’ drive from Melbourne. Conditions for canoeing and water-skiing are excellent and the winds from Bass Strait make sailing and sailboarding ideal. Those keen on surfing have only to make their way around Point Smythe on the isthmus, to the more turbulent waters of Venus Bay.
The calm beaches along Anderson Inlet are ideal for families and relaxation, or a surf beach for the more adventurous holiday maker. Sections of the beach are dog friendly. There’s also fishing, wind surfing, diving and boating opportunities. As a top tourist destination, Inverloch and its surrounds offer plenty of activities, eating options and rainy day fillers. It is only 45 minutes’ drive away from Wilsons Promontory which is the ideal spot for a National park day trip. It’s also close to Phillip Island and the famous penguin parade. Wonderful sights can be appreciated along this route. For a little exercise why not take the 1.5km Screw Creek Nature Walk. This walk will take you through grasslands and white mangroves. It begins near the foreshore caravan park. There are also several rail trails to enjoy a good cycle, one starting at Wonthaggi that works it's way to Phillip Island and another from Leongatha to Port Welshpool. Wonthaggi, just 12km west on the Bass Highway, offers all the regional centre shopping options, services and recreation activities you’ll need during your Inverloch stay. For jazz lovers Inverloch has a festival dedicated to the genre on the Labour Day long weekend. A street parade and plenty of bands will keep you entertained. Inverloch has great places to eat, 2 hotels, supermarket, bakeries & much more!

Another great family stay at the Cosy Inverloch Beach Cottage! The cottage is in perfect location to beach and town, so easy to stoll around with 2 young kids. It's very comfortable inside and has a lovely outdoor area to relax in.

Host was very responsive.Location was excellent, short walk to the pier and town.1 of the rooms was separate from the main part of the house which required a minor room swap. Could be a bonus for some people depending on your needs.
Everything was as expected. This is an oldie but a goodie. Immaculately clean. Welcoming host. Have stayed here before and will stay here again. So close to beach and shops. No need for the car.
We enjoyed another great stay at the cottage! Such a wonderful location, awesome host and the house has everything you need for a lovely time in Inverloch.
Didn’t know we need to bring sheets and towels Walk alone foreshore was beautiful and once we entered the national parks we were sheltered from the wind

Hi Leanne, I’m sorry you didn’t read the requirements for guests to bring their own linen and towels, I’ve tried to make it clear in the house description.
Cheers
Gavin
We had everything we needed and could just relax and enjoy the weekend. It’s a great central location too. Please note, the sliding door to the back yard needs repair. It is very difficult to open and close and while we were able to lock it, the door is not sealed.

Thanks for the feedback Janet.
Yes the whole back door and frame does need replacing but due to Jacinta’s Land Tax the cost is beyond my ability, so I just need to make sure it’s functioning.
Cheers
Gavin
We enjoyed our stay, it was in the most perfect location that had no traffic, and was close to the beach and nice places for breakfast and dinner. This is the ideal place to stay, the spacious backyard, the beautiful house, and the great price made it overall a wonderful getaway.
Clean and so close to the beach and the shops. We really enjoyed our stay.

About the host
Hosted by Gavin Dore
Gavin and Jenny Dore welcome you to our little home away from home. We live in Vermont South and have 4 children.
Why they chose this property
Inverloch was the family beach destination for me when I grew up in Warragul. After caravanning back there a few years ago I was bitten to find a holiday house.
What makes this property unique
The house was originally a coal miners cottage located at Jumbunna and was carted down the hill by bullocks, along with its sister houses on both sides of this property in 1925.
