"Marlo Cottage - a beautifully restored and furnished cottage that has it all ... style, location, heritage and history"
"If you like historical towns and accommodation with atmosphere then this is the place. And comfort is not sacrificed. Marlo has been well renovated and we were delighted to find real antique furniture. Rooms were surprisingly large and spacious with high ceilings.
We've been there three times and been glad of the good space for relaxing, cooking and socialising. On our latest trip in November we spent some evenings in the small courtyard since the weather was warm".
" Marlo cottage is exquisite, you can lay in bed at night or in the beautiful bath and watch the stars . Every thing is available to cook and then dine at the cottage if you wish, or if you like, walk out the front door and the gorgeous town of Beechworth is there for you to enjoy ,you can also sit on the front Veranda and simply watch the passing parade or have the privacy of the back court yard complete with a rustic water fountain, there is limited street front parking provided for unpacking all your baggage or packing all your goodies that you have purchased from the famous lollie shop and or the honey from the bee store across the road. There is lots of free unlimited parking nearby. The cottage is beautifully restored and our stay there was perfect" .
"The house is in the centre of town with limited street front parking at during business hours out front and unlimited free parking just 20 metres streets away around the street corner . Beechworth has plenty of coffee shops, antique shops and places to rummage around. There's lots to do in surrounding area too. If we visit Beechworth again, we'd stay at Marlo".

Well appointed, warm in an excellent location
This accommodation is perfect for a leisurely visit to historic Beechworth. Beautifully decked out, well appointed for dining in or walking distance to cafes and restaurants. Even though situated in the town, it was quiet at night.

Lovely historic property in the centre of Beechworth
We spent a couple of days at this lovely and comfortable house right in the centre of town. There’s plenty of space to relax in the house and in the little secluded courtyard at the back, and it’s great to have two bathrooms when there are four of you sharing the house. Loved the reliable wifi too!
The cottage is it's own piece of history, is well located and set up, and provided a really great base to explore Beechworth & the surrounding area. We'll definitely be back!
We chose Beechworth for a birthday celebration at Tanswells Hotel so Marlo Cottage was the perfect location across the road. It is renovated to capture the historic charm but offers the necessary comforts you would expect. We were able to walk to surrounding attractions, shops & amenities easily. It was a warm weekend and the house stayed cool without turning on the air con downstairs, upstairs has a separate unit which we did use. I would mention that because it is located between two cafes, both open Saturday & Sunday, one a bit later on Sunday, those staying in the front rooms might not get much of a sleep in unless wearing earplugs or heavy sleepers. Having said that both cafes are excellent & will serve coffee & food to the verandah table of the cottage. Maybe a reason to get up early? There is also an excellent rear courtyard with a large table, cushioned chairs & a large umbrella. The kitchen is compact but with all the necessary appliances to self cater. I would recommend it and would be happy to return.
Marlo Cottage was perfect in so many ways. We did not use ur cars for the 4 days/nights that we stayed-everything we wanted to do was in walking distance. The house was perfectly zoned for 5 adults, providing both and open gathering area and privacy in the bedrooms. The front street is reasonably busy through the day, but quiet at night. it was great to have 2 bathrooms with 5 adults. Marlo Cottage was a great base, and the history of the area a part of the cottage itself. We were spoilt for choice for food and drink.A huge thanks to Jo for the immaculate presentation of Marlo Cottage Our family had a great annual holiday together.

Thanks for your nice review and for being perfect 5 out of 5 guests under the Stayz guest rating system in our view. Looking forward to having you back again soon to either Ned Kelly’s Marlo Cottage or French Cottage Beechworth
A truly beautiful and comfortable property in the heart of Beechworth. Every need anticipated, with timely and accurate provision of useful information and thoughtful touches within the home. Mum and I truly enjoyed our stay!
The cottage was cozy, comfortable and attractively finished with period pieces. I would highly recommend a stay. The only problem is a lack of instructions for things such as the gas log fire, micro/oven and stove top.
Great Location, Well Appointed, Wonderful Presentation
The location is great, right in the middle of town, with an excellent coffee shop next door and many pubs and restaurants within a couple of hundred metres. The cottage is beautifully kept and very clean - provided with everything you could need. The beds were extremely comfortable and beautifully presented. The manager was very responsive when we had a minor hiccup with the washing machine. Our time there was so relaxing. I highly recommended this amazing cottage -a real gem.
Great A/C, the location is fantastic, we were able to park the car and walk the entire time we were there and then pop back to the house to cool off on the two 40 degree days we were there. Great coffee shops right next door too.
Our family stayed for four nights at Marlo Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cottage is exactly as described, very clean and comfortable. Location could not be better with coffee and food as close as next door. Recommend riding the rail trails. We would happily return.
Jo and Andrew were very accommodating in advance and during our stay. Great stay. We absolutely love Beechworth, and Marlo Cottage is fantastically located to enjoy this fantastic town.

Marlo Cottage
Our stay at Marlo Cottage was pleasant, the location was great and the cottage was clean. Unfortunately when i rang the Manager to advise that we had arrived from Ballarat they "didnt think they had anyone in the Cottage this week end', there was only one room that had towels provided, there was no milk in the fridge for a cup of tea and there was a blind in the top bedroom that was completely missing. Given the cost to stay i would have expected a bit better service and a few niceties provided.

Hi Alison. Our sincere apologies and we got caught off guard as Victoria transitioned out of CoVID lockdown and there was a communication breakdown at our end and we thought the cottage was empty for another day before your arrival for some maintenance (curtain) and the milk hadn’t been restocked from the supermarket next door upon your arrival and towels out of the cupboards on the beds. Again apologies and we hope the dinner recommendations were good and that you will consider us again. Thanks
