Glenn was great to communicate with from the very start. Although we had a few queries during our stay, Glenn was really helpful. The house was as pictured and the kids loved the pool! Perfect for the amount of people we had and pet friendly too! Thanks for having us Glenn!
it was very tidy and clean we recommend to stay here the only thing that we did not like was the pool was very cold and it was not heated but over all it was very fun.
My family and I keep rebooking this beautiful Beach House. Great location, dog friendly, great separate living areas for adults and younger children/teens, very clean and tidy, amazing pool and outdoor entertaining area. Excellent quick communication with Glenn the property owner, if any issues or questions occur they are answered or sorted out straight away. Every year we have seen added renovations done, which makes our holiday stay even more enjoyable every time. Thank you Glenn Donnelly for a wonderful Beach House to relax in, our piece of paradise.
Excellent location a short drive to the beach and main street, great layout of the house, with many quiet terrace areas to relax in, great balcony to have a BBQ on, it was perfect for my family of four, with my daughters, teenager 15 and 11 yr old, especially the bedroom and living area downstairs. It was great the house could accommodate for our cavoodle also. Netflix was greatly appreciated., especially by the girls. The highlight was the pool and the magnificent pool area which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Lovely house to stay at even though it was an older style house than we normally stay at. Glen was wonderful to communicate with, we definitely will book this house again for next year!
We arrived at the property, and it was extremely dirty. Skirting boards had so much dust on them, the fridge was filthy and had not been cleaned, the freezer had food in there from the previous renters, there were towels left in the washing machine, there was rubbish left in the bins, dirty cutlery in the draws, and no bed sheets on the bed, when we paid to have them. And We spent our 1st day cleaning the house, as we had toddlers crawling everywhere. Not to mention the number of cobwebs throughout the home, and the filth of the the pool. Definitely do not recommend this place and will definitely not stay here again.
The host was nice prior to our arrival, however after all the complaints, he was definitely not understanding or compassionate, he did offer to resend the cleaner, however we had already cleaned the house. We asked for a refund for the cleaning and was basically ignored, not even an acknowledgement of the message. I have stayed in many places, nothing like this.
While we had a really lovely time at this house over the Christmas week, the location is great – tucked away in the suburbs and only a few minutes’ drive from the Main Rye Beach. There was plenty of space for us within the house, more than enough decks to get some private time away from the larger group if required.
The House is well stocked – fully equipped kitchen. We took some of our own pots & pans down just to be on the safe side, but we didn’t need them at all. Large enough fridge (with an extra wine fridge on the lower deck) for all of us & our weeks worth of food. The only complaint we had on the linen side of things, is that they don’t leave any hand towels in any of the bathrooms. That was a bit weird.
It was disappointing that the renovation of the pool & deck was still underway, which meant the area was unusable. But we did receive a partial refund for this inconvenience. I guess management forgot to tell the pool cleaner though – he turned up mid way through our stay to clean the pool…
While we did have a great time, there are a few issues that do need rectifying by the management. They are all easy fixes, but reading reviews here and on other booking sites it does seem to be a consistent theme. Cleanliness. At first look, it all seems clean. But then after a while you notice all the cobwebs adoring the ceiling of the downstairs room, the layer of dust (and the dead flies) on the top shelf of the pantry. The floor was wet & had just been mopped when we arrived, but somehow within minutes we all had blackened & dirty feet. Perhaps the decks need a powerwash?
We also had to fix the main bathroom showerhead before we could use this as it had come apart and was spraying water everywhere.
The BBQ was clean, but the oil trap was full & started overflowing as soon as we cooked on the BBQ.
The outside area was quite a disappointment though. Clearly shown in the images is grass on the outside of the lower deck. I had a conversation about putting a blow up pool on the grassed area with the management. Turns out there is no grass. Just dirt & gravel. SO I wouldn’t really call it a kid & pet friendly home, as there wasn’t any where for our nieces to play outside. And if we had taken our dog – there wasn’t really anywhere that she could have played either.
Overall it’s a great place, the cleaning team perhaps just need a little longer allocated to give the place a deep clean, and a bit more attention to detail.
The house was really nice and spacious however it may need to be fixed up a little. The backyard was beautiful and a very good social area with the pateo by the pool and the fake grass. Pool was a little dirty with a pile of dirt settled at the bottom of the shallow end but still a nice well sized pool. The interior was a little dusty upon arrival however it was easy to clean and once cleaned it was a very nice area to relax.
Good location, not to far away from shops and beach, quick response from Glen for our queries.
Lovely house and set up,but a good clean of skirting boards and cob webs outside wouldn’t go astray, ashame it wasn’t warm enough to get use of the pool though. Glen was very accommodating with quick reply’s to our queries, all in all we enjoyed our stay
Well presented property, well suited to our two families who were looking for a little getaway from it all! Plenty of deck/outdoor spaces to relax and enjoy the view.
The kids got plenty of enjoyment out of the pool, luckily the weather was ok for the mid-April time of year! (A little chilly for many people though!!)
Inside there was lots of space to spread out too. Netflix and free wi-fi got plenty of use! (particularly with 5 teenagers!) There was also a selection of games that were well used also!
Walking distance to Rye front beach/shops, although may be a challenging walk for some, as it is quite hilly! There is a little cafe, ‘Peninsula Pantry’ (with takeaway options, pies, pastries, milk etc.) just around the corner, handy for lunch on one of our days!
Overall a great place to stay, we’d certainly be happy to book again!
When we arrived, the place was amazing exactly like the photos advertised & it was very clean. Close to everything - shops, beach & restaurant. Definitely would stay there again & also the owner Glenn was great, explained where everything is etc :) thumbs up from our stay there !
Really nice property exactly as presented in photos. Big, open plan and lots of separate spaces for different age groups. It wasn’t very clean when we arrived (unswept floors, others’ belongings) and we had to buy rinse aid, a bath mat (only 1 for 2 bathrooms). Small things I guess but you expect them to be covered in the cost of stay.
Enjoyed every bit of our stay.. some bits and pieces around the house needed some attention but overall very satisfied with our stay.
Glenn was quick to respond to any questions or enquires we had. Great host, will stay here again.
Enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. Very well maintained and updated amenities. Lots of great details and seperate zones to chill out. Nice bakery within easy walking distance too. Would live to stay here again sometime.
We had an excellent winter break, could see how magnificent it would be in summer!
The big pluses were lots of accomodation in the house so it didn’t feel at all crowded, and lots of space for our dogs to run around out the back.
Stayed with my family of 10. and our dogs and had the best time! House was clean, tidy and stylish. We felt very comfortable and welcome and were lucky to have some great May weather to sit by the pool. Would stay again!
This home is really beautiful & coastal. It has EVERYTHING you need to cook & entertain your family. Super comfortable & great even in winter with the fire place & heating. My only suggestion would be a deeper clean between each guest. We had a little one who crawls & she was filthy after being on the floor so we had to vac the whole house. Especially under the beds & carpeted areas. Loved everything else though :)
