About this property
Beachfront Cottage in Broad Cove Marsh
Located along the picturesque Ceilidh Trail on the western side of Cape Breton Island, “The Cabin” is the ideal spot for your vacation get-away.
Nestled between two cliffs, the property boasts 3 bedrooms, eat-in kitchen with 4 appliances, washroom with shower stall, washer & dryer, satellite TV, WiFi, large family room, two-level deck with barbecue, and an awesome outdoor shower.
The Cabin is a stone’s throw from Broad Cove beach. From the deck you can watch your children play in the freshwater brook and on the beach. Sit back and relax on the deck taking in spectacular sunsets and star gazing at night. When it’s time to call it a day, let the sound of the rolling waves lull you to sleep.
There is much to see and experience in the historic Town of Inverness. Spend the day at its 4.6-km/2.9-mi sandy beach with boardwalk, the heritage-designated railway station now serving as the Miners’ Museum, the Inverness Raceway established in 1926 where harness races are held twice weekly between May and October, and quaint harbour. Book a tee time at the world-renowned golf destination of Cabot Links, North America's only true links golf course, or its sister course Cabot Cliffs both ranked among the top 100 courses by Golf Digest. Did we mention you can see the signature 16th hole of Cabot Cliffs from the beach at Broad Cove? And, if you time it right, enjoy a toe-tapping experience at the annual Broad Cove Concert featuring local and international musicians.
The adventures continue with horseback riding through Gillis Mountain Trail Rides, whale and seal watching tours, kayaking, hiking trails, and salmon fishing on the Margaree River. If, after a long day’s activity, you don’t have the energy to cook, the are a number of local watering holes offering an array of dining experiences.
Other nearby attractions include:
- Cape Breton Highlands National Park and the internationally-famous Cabot Trail, named one of “World’s 10 Most Beautiful Highways” by FoxNews.com
- Village of Baddeck on the Bras d’Or Lake where Alexander Graham Bell had his summer estate Beinn Bhreagh
- Highland Village at Iona honouring the Gaelic settlement in Nova Scotia
- Glenora Distillery famous for producing the first single malt whisky in North America
- Celtic Colours International Music Festival
